With U.S. Foreign Policy In a Shambles, Secretary of State Blinken Finds Something to Celebrate

BY ROBERT SPENCER, PJ MEDIA NOV 21, 2021 5:46 PM ET

Those who helped us out during our long military misadventure in Afghanistan only to be left behind in Kabul know that Joe Biden’s handlers are not the most reliable people in the world, but there is one thing they can always be counted on to be, and that is tone deaf. And so on Sunday morning, Secretary of State Antony Blinken looked out on what he had wrought. He saw China emboldened, Afghanistan lost, and Iran more aggressive than ever, and he took to Twitter to give us the perfect response to all the fires he and his colleagues have started or made rage hotter than ever. He tweeted: “Humbled to reach one million Twitter followers as Secretary of State — and especially so because it means that I can share the outstanding work of our @StateDept team with so many at home and around the world. It’s a privilege. Thank you.”

Build Back Better Act Offers Media Billions To Go After Republicans

Give the media $1.9 billion and they promise to stop Republicans from winning elections.

By Daniel Greenfield, FPM

Biden claims that the Build Back Better Act will help ordinary Americans, but the legislation, like so much in Washington D.C., is a collection of pork for corrupt special interests. One of those special interests is the media which suppressed negative stories about Biden and the Democrats, like the FBI investigation of Hunter Biden, while promoting disinformation, like the Steele Dossier, targeting President Trump: Biden’s opponent in the presidential election.

The media operates like a Democrat messaging operation and its partisanship has undermined its business model, especially for local news outlets which, unlike major national outlets, cannot simply ignore their existing readers and viewers to focus exclusively on radical urban leftists.

US officials have warned Israel that its attacks against the Iranian nuclear program are counterproductive and have enabled Tehran to rebuild an even more efficient enrichment system, the New York Times reported Sunday.

Citing officials familiar with the behind-the-scenes discussion between Washington and Jerusalem, as the US continues to try and bring Iran back into the nuclear deal, the report said that Israeli officials have dismissed the warnings, saying they have “no intention of letting up.”

Funding For Palestinians Dries Up

T. Belman.  My guess is that the Eu will continue to fund illegal Arab construction in area C

By Hugh Fitzgerald, GELLER REPORT

The donor nations that have in the past been so generous in funding the Palestinian Authority have this year finally had enough, and have massively cut down the aid provided to 10% of what had previously been pledged. A report on this welcome development is here.

Palestinian prime minister Muhammad Shtayyeh is visiting Europe in a bid to resume the faltering funding that used to be a blank check from the EU.

International funding to the Palestinian Authority has declined this year, for the first time in decades. While the EU says that it hasn’t sent its usual $150 million to the PA this year for “technical reasons.” it appears that European taxpayers do not want to continue paying for the PA’s corruption.

Prosecutors Find Mail-In Jury Votes At 3AM, Rittenhouse Now Guilty

Stop what you’re doing! It’s a Babylon Bee breaking news alert
>

KENOSHA, WI—In a stunning reversal, Kyle Rittenhouse awoke this morning to discover that he had been found guilty after all.

Prosecutors explained that during the night, they had found dozens of mail-in jury votes declaring the defendant guilty on all counts. Apparently, boxes of these mail-in votes arrived in a truck at the courthouse around 3:00 am. Rittenhouse received a full 81,000,000 “guilty” votes, making him “the most guilty defendant of all time” according to experts.

Attorneys for Mr. Rittenhouse were dumbfounded as to how such a thing could have happened… Read more

The War On God

By Nelson Price, LONG-VIEW NEWS JOURNAL

“Religion must die in order for mankind to live,” said left wing commentator, Bill Maher, in the documentary “Religulous,” the most watched documentary feature of the year.

David Horowitz has written an expose of the war on religion entitled “The Dark Agenda.” It is a well documented work. Horowitz, a brilliant author, who has been described as a Jewish-agnostic, is nevertheless objective enough to be a friend to the faith community.

Maher’s view accurately reflects the attitudes of a movement called the “New Atheism.” The movement seeks to discredit all religious belief by caricaturing its adherents as simpletons and worse. Horowitz exposes the stated goal of the New Atheism is to delegitimize and extinguish the religious point of view in America.

Bennett builds a terror state

PM Naftali Bennett and his ministers are dismantling everything the Netanyahu governments achieved in preventing the PA from securing the financial wherewithal to wage a terror war.

Standing at the speaker’s rostrum at the Knesset last week, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett declared, “There are no negotiations taking place towards the establishment of a terror state in the heart of Israel.”

Bennett was compelled to make his declaration because the political opposition insists that the opposite is the case. Bennett’s former political partner, MK Bezalel Smotrich gathered the requisite 40 signatures to compel Bennett to appear before the Knesset last week and answer questions. Smotrich and his fellow members of the opposition believe that Bennett’s far-left dominated government is moving swiftly to establish a Palestinian terror state in the heart of Israel.

Likud is taking aim at the wrong target

The disturbing phenomenon of Likudniks vs. settlers will continue to keep the Right out of power.

By  Moria Kor, ISRAEL HAYOM

Netanyahu is gone, and the cries of social rift remain. They are always from the Left, but the deeper rift has been opened on the Right itself, and is becoming a concerning social phenomenon. It’s called Likudniks vs. settlers, and it came into being during the days of fear that the previous government would lose power. It will keep the Right out of power longer and longer, like it has thus far.

In an offensive scene near the end of the movie “Pretty Woman,” Stuckey, Edward’s friend, arrives in the beautiful Vivian’s room and tries to exploit her, and when she refuses, he tells her that she’s just a whore from Hollywood Blvd. That is my context for the war between the Likud and the settlers. I’d put an arrow on Roberts and position her as a symbol of what is known as “the settlers.” She understands that there are always those who will remind her of her original sin and use her, but as far as she is concerned, it’s just a reason for her to develop and spread her wings beyond the sponsors who might pay her when they feel like it but insult her before and after.

The shape of a potential US-China deal

Reduction of Trump-era tariffs on Chinese imports could see Beijing loosen monetary policy and ease runaway inflation in the US

By David P. Goldman, ASIA TIMES   Nov 20, 2021

The US and China could strike an economic and financial deal that helps to solve both sides’ mounting problems. Image: Global Times

After Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping struck a constructive – if not conciliatory – tone at Monday’s virtual meeting, China’s Vice President Wang Qishan told a Singapore conference by video last week that “China cannot develop in isolation of the world and nor can the world develop without China.”

Wang’s remarks in his keynote address to the Bloomberg New Economy Forum evidently offered a riposte to Western perceptions that China had reverted to a kind of Maoist autarky. On the contrary, “China will not waver in its resolve to deepen reform and expand opening up,” Wang said. “Going forward, China will keep its arms wide open, provide more market investment and growth opportunities to the world.”

Yemen’s Battleground Shifts in Favor of Iran-Backed Houthis

Saudi Arabia is scrambling to defend oil-rich city against group, as Biden administration debates whether to back Riyadh in Yemen civil war

Reinforcements arriving to join fighters loyal to Yemen’s Saudi-backed government on the southern front of Marib this week.

RIYADH—Houthi fighters allied with Iran have gained important new ground in the yearslong war in Yemen, as Saudi Arabia is struggling to defend a strategic, oil-rich city and U.S. efforts to broker peace stagnate.

Without coordinating with United Nations peacekeepers in the area, Yemeni forces supported by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates abruptly withdrew last week from key positions near the western port city of Hodeidah. At the same time, Saudi Arabia vowed to send more forces to defend Marib, the center of an energy hub near the Saudi border where the Houthis have been methodically gaining new ground for months.

Duke Student Government Upholds Denial of New Pro-Israel Group

by Dion J. Pierre, ALGEMIENER

The controversial veto of a pro-Israel student group at Duke University was upheld by a wide margin in a Wednesday night session of the student government, two days after the new Students Supporting Israel (SSI) chapter was denied recognition over a recent social media post.

SSI Duke was initially recognized by the Duke Student Government (DSG) on Nov. 10 — a decision revoked on Monday by the body’s president, who accused the fledgling group of “singling out” a Duke sophomore in a social media post.

An Archaeological Dig Reignites the Debate Over the Old Testament’s Historical Accuracy

Beneath a desert in Israel, a scholar and his team are unearthing astonishing new evidence of an advanced society in the time of the biblical Solomon

By Matti Friedman, SMITHSONIAN

Carved by industrious miners thousands of years ago, countless shafts wend through the desert of the Timna Valley.  Yadid Levy

If you stand on one of the outcroppings of the Timna valley, the most salient fact of the place is emptiness. Here in the heat-blasted flatlands of the Arava Desert, off a lonely road in southern Israel, it seems there’s nothing but stark cliffs and rock formations all the way to the jagged red wall of the Edomite Mountains across the Jordanian border. And yet the longer you spend in the Timna barrens, the more human fingerprints you begin to see. Scratches on a cliff face turn out to be, on closer investigation, 3,200-year-old hieroglyphics. On a boulder are the outlines of ghostly chariots. A tunnel vanishes into a hillside, the walls marked with the energetic strikes of bronze chisels. There were once people here, and they were looking for something. Traces of the treasure can still be seen beneath your feet, in the greenish hue of pebbles or the emerald streak across the side of a cave.

Ethiopian Jewry: Will Israel repeat mistakes?

Israel must bring all of the 14,100 Ethiopian Jews who have been awaiting aliyah, in some cases for decades. Otherwise Israel will be partially responsible for deaths which could have been avoided.

By Joseph Feit, JPOST

RELATIVES HOLD photos of loved ones left behind in Ethiopia, at a protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem last week demanding that the government bring the rest of Ethiopia’s Jews to Israel.

Some government ministers oppose a government decision to authorize the Aliyah of the 14,100 Beta Israel in Addis Ababa and Gondar. They argue that aliyah from Ethiopia must stop because the stream of immigrants is endless and that the camps in Addis Ababa and Gondar keep refilling after they have been emptied out. Their arguments are questionable as a matter of Zionist ideology, contrary to Jewish tradition and incorrect as a matter of fact.

Israel’s Civil Administration is failing in Judea and Samaria

While I would like to believe that those who serve in the body established in 1981 are good people, the entire mechanism is rotten to its core.

By Maurice Hirsch, JNS    10-18-2021 09:50

Each day, it becomes clearer that the Israeli Civil Administration is one of the greatest dangers to the Jewish people’s realization of the goal to resettle the Jewish heartland of Judea and Samaria. Since the signing of the 1993-1995 Oslo Accords, the Civil Administration has lost its way.

Despite being a branch of the Israeli Defense Ministry/Israel Defense Forces, the Civil Administration is more concerned with facilitating the creation of the “State of Palestine” than it is with ensuring the rights of the Jewish people in its ancestral homeland.

How Unethical Were the Prosecutors Trying to Put Kyle Rittenhouse in Prison? Let Us Count the Ways…

BY VICTORIA TAFT, PJ MEDIA     NOV 19, 2021 8:04 PM ET

Sean Krajacic/The Kenosha News via AP, Pool

There is so much misinformation about what happened the night Kyle Rittenhouse fired his weapon at four — yes, four — attackers that it’s hard to know where to begin. But let’s start with the prosecutors who promulgated and, indeed, created some of the slanders against the then-17-year-old. In the end, prosecutors Thomas Binger and Jim Kraus could not back up their lies with evidence in a courtroom and a jury saw right through them, thank God.To put it succinctly, Thomas Binger and Jim Kraus left a skid mark on the robes of justice. They put a Kraus-sized turd on Lady Justice’s scale. And they almost put an 18-year-old in prison because he fought for his life and took out three of their “heroes,” as Binger called them.

Saudis, UAE suddenly abandon Red Sea coast to Iranian-Houthi control – a shocker for US and allies

DEBKA

Washington was bowled over on Nov. 17 upon learning that Saudi and UAE forces had pulled back from Yemen’s Red Sea coast, handing control to Iran’s surrogates just a week after their the Gulf nations’ first joint Red Sea naval drill with the US, Israel and Bahrain. The DEBKAfile account of the unprecedented war game, launched on the 11th, disclosed that it was commanded from Egypt’s Berenice military base, which President Abdel-Fatteh Sisi had inaugurated on the Red Sea’s western coast only last year. The exercise was designed to highlight the resolve of the US-led coalition to prevent Iran from seizing control of this primary shipping and oil route to and from the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean.

Arctic sea ice data is in plain view of the world’s media, yet outlets would still rather quote activist-scientists than show an unambiguous chart. Articles of “catastrophic ice melt” still pepper the global news feeds, even as signs point to a cyclical shift in the northern polar region.
