The European Commission delivers first ever EU strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life

EUROPEAN COALITION FOR ISRAEL

Brussels, October 7th, 2021 – The European Commission has presented its first ever comprehensive EU strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life. In a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday, Commission president Ursula von der Leyen noted that “Europe can only prosper when its Jewish communities feel safe and prosper”. Vice-President Margaritis Schinas commented on the strategy by saying: “We owe this to those who perished in the Holocaust, we owe it to the survivors, and we owe it to future generations.”

In a separate statement on Wednesday, ECI Founding Director Tomas Sandell commended the European Commission for its unprecedented commitment towards a Europe free of antisemitism.

Far-right Jewish pundit Zemmour seen vaulting Le Pen in French presidential poll

T. Belman. This is huge. To be able to campaign on such an anti-Islam, anti-immigrant platform with all the media in support is a very refreshing change from what is happening in America. I wish him well.

PARIS (AFP) — An increasingly bitter fight between far-right doyenne Marine Le Pen and acid-tongued media pundit Eric Zemmour is shaking up France’s presidential election race and casting the issue of immigration to the heart of campaigning.

Over the last month, Le Pen has lost her almost monopoly grip over the far-right which she has enjoyed since taking over from her father as head of the National Front party in 2011.

Another University Capitulates to the Mob

T. Belman.  The only reason for the restrictions on free speech or the cancel culture or the mob enforcers is because it suits the interests of those that want to transform America. They know their ideas can’t win in the market place of ideas and must be rammed down our throats. The only reason they are able to do this is because they are aided and abetted by so many in the bureaucracy, academia, big business and big tech.  Heaven help us.

America is following the path of the USSR and the CCP. There is no difference.  American no longer holds the moral highground and lost its right to preach to anyone.

By Rajan Laad, AM THINKER

Dorian Abbot, an associate professor of geophysics from the University of Chicago, was scheduled deliver the prestigious Carlson Lecture at MIT on climate and the potential for life on other planets

Everything seemed in order until an insane mob began banging at the door.

The mob had discovered a Newsweek piece that Abbot co-wrote back in August where he argued that diversity efforts at universities violated equal treatment. The article proposed that “university applicants be treated as individuals and evaluated through a rigorous and unbiased process based on their merit and qualifications alone.”

Progress reported in Gaza ceasefire talks as senior Hamas, Egypt officials meet

T. Belman.  I am totally against talking to Hamas. I have no interest in stabilizing the situation or returning to calm. They made their bed by attacking us, let them lie in it. They should suffer the consequences for doing so.  They should not be forgiven for attacking us.  They should be made to understand that when they attack us there will be no talks or negotiations.

Israel believes its in her interest to buy calm.  No it is not. We should make it not in the interests of Hamas to attack us.  Just the opposite. We should make it in their interests not to attack us.

Hamas and Egypt have advanced agreements to strengthen the ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza-ruling terror group, Turkish state media reported on Tuesday, days after senior Hamas officials met with Egyptian intelligence in Cairo.

The terror group and Egypt saw “progress” in “understandings to stabilize the truce in Gaza, speed up the pace of reconstruction, and efforts to ease the siege,” according to the Anadolu news agency.

The Two-State Solution is and was untenable – is Biden is too uninformed to know that?

Recent Israeli history shows that two-state negotiations in an attempt to appease local Arab consciousness is a phony theme.

Standing guard in Judea and Samaria

Standing guard in Judea and Samaria

The 1990’s were the halcyon days when false beliefs prevailed in so-called Oslo Accord negotiations. U.S. President Bill Clinton actually asked Yitzchak Rabin and Yasser Arafat to shake hands in the Rose Garden in front of the White House in 1993.

This schoolboy exercise was in keeping with the Rodney King expostulation after the Los Angeles riots when he said, “Why can’t we just get along.” That was in 1992. It was a throwback to the cumbaya mindset of the 1960’s which Louis Farrakhan – rightly I think – in the USA liked to ridicule whereby civil rights workers would join hands and sway back and forth singing cumbaya as a symbol of racial unity.

Biden sends private message to Bennett to stop settlement construction

Yesha Council chairman denounces ‘gross interference in internal Israeli affairs’ after Biden sends private message to stop building.

By David Elhayani, Arutz Sheva StaffOct 06 , 2021

Biden and Bennett

The Biden Administration sent a quiet message to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s office requesting that new construction be curbed in Jewish localities in Judea and Samaria.

According to a report by Barak Ravid on the Walla news site, the issue of construction in Judea and Samaria has the potential to become a hotbed for tension between Israel and the United States, but both the White House and the Prime Minister’s Office want to avoid this and are trying to reach understandings through quiet channels.

Ein Breira

By Victor Rosenthal

Recently I have been hearing that Israel can’t stop Iran’s nuclear program, and America is our only hope. For example, here is Daniel Gordis:

[Former PM Ehud] Barak wrote that Israel no longer has a viable military option for preventing Iran from crossing the nuclear threshold, and that the Mullahs are marching steadily forward on their quest. Israel needs the US to develop military plans to stop Iran (Barak said that not only does the US have no such plans, it also has no interest in developing them); furthermore, he said, Israel is going to have to recognize its increased dependence on the US, and to work hard to deepen its ties to America.

But Barak does not draw the appropriate conclusion from the facts that he presents, and neither does Gordis, who thinks that Israel must “mend fences with American Jews” to help influence the US “to do the right thing” and act against Iran. Barak’s argument (Hebrew link) actually implies that we cannot depend on America.

The Associated Press war of words against Israel

There is no other country that AP subjects to such obvious journalistic lies, so we can consider AP to be an antisemitic organization.

By Howard Rotberg, INN Oct 04 , 2021

Associated Press (AP) is at it again. See: There you will find an article with a headline saying that “Israelli troops kill Five Palestinians in West Bank gunbattles” which is actually a biased report on an Israeli counter-terrorism operation against Hamas terrorists. The article terms as “militants” those terrorists who target civilians, so as to give them some kind of moral equivalency to the Israeli army, when they should be pointing out that the dead operatives were terrorists planning an attack on Jewish civilians.

Associated Press supplies international news to western news media who can’t afford their own international bureaus. Since the cost of foreign bureaus is prohibitive, Associated Press, by default, exercises a large international influence.

Our Woke National Icons

Milley, Fauci, and Biden are soulless men who reveal the bankruptcy of our ruling class.

By

As we watch events unfold in 2021, obvious questions about the fitness of our national leaders present themselves. Who are these new woke national icons and how did they come to lord it over the rest of us? Here are some observations by way of preliminary explanation.

The Strategist

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley conceded to Congress last week that he has been an anonymous source to controversial “inside” progressive muckrakers detailing the supposed dysfunctions of the prior administration. He strangely characterizes such anonymous, self-serving, behind-the-scenes leaking as some sort of public-service transparency. Evidently, it is now a part of the chairman’s duties to serve the media.

Shaked to Emirati paper: Israel will not consider Palestinian state with an army.

T. Belman. It is important to note that this statement was made by a female Minister and in the UAE..  I would have preferred she would have said “a Palestinian state, with or without an army”.  In effect she is saying Israel would consider a demilitarized state. How sad.  I thought this idea was buried a decade ago.

Shaked to Emirati paper: Israel will not consider Palestinian state

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, currently visiting the United Arab Emirates, says in an exclusive interview to the Emirati news outlet The National that Israel under Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will not consider the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Shaked told The National that the Bennett-Lapid coalition government had agreed not to tackle any issues that could cause rifts, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.>

Bombshell: Jerusalem Court Approves Jewish Prayer on Temple Mount

T. Belman.  As I understand the law, Jews are allowed to pray on Temple Mount  But if the police deem it as leading to violence, the police may prevent it. So, in principle, we can pray there.  In reality, we can’t.

For a review of the Israpundit’s posts on Jewish prayer, go here.

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Judge Bilha Yahalom on Wednesday revoked a restraining order that was handed to a Jew who prayed on the Temple Mount, and confirmed that it is permissible for Jews to pray quietly in the holiest Jewish site, Israel Hayom reported . This constitutes the first explicit legal decision allowing Jews to pray quietly inside the Temple Mount compound.

According to the group Yera’eh that promotes Jewish ascent to the Temple Mount, a record number of Jewish worshipers prayed on the Temple Mount in the summer: 4,239 Jews conducted prayer there during the month of Av, 5780. This is a jump of 76% compared to the same month in 5779 during which 2,759 Jews prayed on the Temple Mount.

Government spending has become insane

By John Green, AM THINKER

Our current national debt stands at a whopping 29 trillion dollars.  As if that isn’t bad enough, Congress wants to increase it by another five trillion dollars or so.  They have no choice, you know, because they have some Christmas shopping to do for their favorite constituents.  This holiday bounty will come in the form of 4.7 trillion dollars in infrastructure spending — that has little to do with infrastructure, and a lot to do with throwing money at their favorite projects.

The numbers that our “public servants” are tossing around are so staggeringly high they’re difficult for mere humans to actually grasp.  The debt that our representatives are proposing is a 34 with eleven zeros behind it.

Microsoft to open 5 new sites in Israel, double R&D workforce

T. Belman. Microsoft is not alone. All the tech giants have a major presence in Israel. Intel being the largest but not the first. That honour goes to IBM. I keep asking myself, how can Israel satisfy so many competing companies with the workforce they want and need. When is she going to run out of talent? My daughter tells me that programmers receive astronomical salaries. Two to three times the average salary. Israel looks to recruit from both the Arab and the Hareidi sectors which are considered untapped sources.

Microsoft plans to open five additional sites in Israel and more than double its R&D workforce in the country over the next four years, the tech giant announced on Wednesday.

Microsoft currently operates development centers in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Nazareth, and opened a 46,000-square-meter campus in Herzliya late last year. As of the end of 2020, Microsoft employed an estimated 2,300 people in Israel — 2,000 of them in R&D, working on projects including cybersecurity, AI technologies, big data and healthcare. Some 300 people work in sales and marketing.

People just love dead Jews

The work of truth-telling against all odds continues in a book that has no contrived neat endings for the horrors of Jewish history..

By Phyllis Chesler at Israel National News                       October 5, 2021

I am, quite simply, blown away by Dara Horn’s impeccable and original research, relentless courage, and sheer eloquence as contained in her latest book, People Love Dead Jews: Reports From A Haunted Present.

I think that Horn is rather like Ruth Wisse, only younger. And, it is no accident that they are both steeped in Yiddish literature and Jewish sacred texts. In addition, both are supremely literary Ladies—Grand Dames, really.

Please understand who exactly is being overwhelmed here. And overjoyed, because Horn is almost half my age. In her hands, the work of truth-telling against all odds, continues.

Trump Is Not the Cause of the Crimes Threatening America

The 45th president should lead responsible opposition to the damage to the American political system his haters mindlessly cheered and promoted for five years.

By

The more perceptive and perfervid Trump haters are starting to emerge in varying degrees of animation from their post-electoral complacency. The Biden Administration is crumbling the more the Bidenization of America advances. The country is plunging into disillusioned alarm amid rising rates of inflation and violent crime, an oceanic tide of illegal and unskilled immigration, incomprehensible flailing over COVID, and horrifying foreign policy disasters.

Peggy Noonan, as if it were a startling revelation, now thinks Joe Biden may not serve another term and that his only importance will be to have got rid of Trump. Bingo! Except he didn’t get rid of Trump. Preceding her in the panic-stricken front ranks of fearful Trump haters are those already foreseeing Trump’s return.

Before Marines Left Kabul, U.S. Commanders Made Them Remove Anti-Taliban and Anti-ISIS Graffiti

BY ROBERT SPENCER, PJ MEDIA

AP Photo/Rahmat Gul

As American troops were preparing to leave Kabul for the last time, their commanders had their priorities straight:  As we now know, they weren’t taking steps to ensure that all American citizens could safely leave the country. They also weren’t doing anything to get $85 billion worth of American weaponry into safe hands, which we know because the Taliban are now the proud owners of all that taxpayer-funded materiel. They weren’t even doing anything to make sure that it was the Afghans who actually helped us who got onto the planes out of Kabul. No, U.S. commanders in Afghanistan had a far more important priority on their minds: making sure that the Marines didn’t leave behind any messages that the Taliban or ISIS would find insulting.

A worthy replacement agenda: Replace ADL with a real Jewish Defense Organization

Alternatively, we could choose a new head for the organization. Op-ed.

By Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer, INN  Oct 04 , 2021

Jonathan Greenblatt at the so-called Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was back at it again, demanding Tucker Carlson’s termination at Fox News for speaking simple obvious truths that have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on matters pertaining to Jews or to bigotry. So it now devolves on me once again to join this nonsensical fray on the other side — to defend Tucker, to reiterate that Greenblatt simply is an Obama Administration holdover who managed to get hired by the ADL after Obama’s people found themselves out of jobs when that Administration’s tenure ended. Greenblatt has turned a once-vaunted organization that was created to fight anti-Semitism into a wing of the Democrat Party.

Those $4.5 trillion ‘infrastructure’ and ‘reconciliation’ bills are far more radical and dangerous than you think

By Seth Grossman, AM THINKER

By pure chance, I listened to “Science Friday” on National Public Radio while on a Florida road trip last September 24.  I heard host Ira Flatow interview New York Times climate reporter Coral Davenport.  The transcript is posted online at Congress Is Considering Two Climate Change Bills. What’s In Them? (sciencefriday.com).  The podcast is at September 24, 2021 – Science Friday

Until then, I thought that both the “bipartisan” $1 trillion “infrastructure”, and the “progressive” Democrat $3.5 trillion “reconciliation” packages were just obscenely bloated versions of previous “stimulus” spending we had with Obama and Trump.

Multicultural barbarians are emptying France of its Jews

An unprecedented exodus has taken place in France. Muslims enter, Jews flee – and the decision makers call it “multiculturalism”. Op-ed.

By Giulio Meotti , INN        Oct 05 , 2021

“Intellectual life is undermined by the alliance of two messianisms, Islamism and a left whose main activity is to track down ill-thinkers. An intellectual life where it is no longer a question of deciding between error and truth, but between good and evil ”.

Thus, in Le Figaro, the great French historian Georges Bensoussan defines the “hold” of Islamism on public opinion. His “fault” four years ago was declaring on the radio that Muslim immigrants absorb anti-Semitism from an early age like mother’s milk. Since then, for the editorial director of the Memorial of the Shoah in Paris the caudine gallows of trials and ad personam attacks have opened.
