During eight baleful years, President Barack Hussein Obama made Israel’s life utterly miserable as he pursued relentlessly his warped vision of a ‘Two State Solution’ to the Israel-Palestinian conflict. But that vision, being imagined yet again, would remain national suicide for Israel.

Still pushed by too many in the international corridors of power, it is in reality an appalling euphemism not unlike the German Nazi’s ‘Final Solution’ which ushered in the Holocaust. And now, lo and behold, the Biden/Harris administration — which many see as Obama’s third term — is currently pushing yet again for the disinterment of that rotting corpse known as the ‘Two-State Solution.’

T. Belman. Biden’s America is opting for diversity over meritocracy, the opposite is true in China, India, Africa and so on. It also values equality of outcome over equal opportunity.  This cannot bode well for America.

The more we dumb down entrance requirements to Ivy League schools, through affirmative action etc, these schools will no longer be the home for the best and the brightest. In effect such policies destroy their value.

The most cheerful headline I have seen in weeks was on Glenn Reynolds’ New York Post column: “No, Karen, we’re not masking again.” I hope he is right. I do wonder, though. I have no doubt that the second part of his headline—“A winning GOP message for 2022 [and] beyond”—is correct. At least it’s correct if it is expressed as a conditional: It would be a winning strategy were it adopted. As Reynolds notes, “There is a great deal of pent-up frustration and resentment over the inconvenience, the loss of freedom and the general climate of hectoring that the government’s pandemic response has created.” Indeed. On Friday, two Iranian suicide drones crashed into an empty oil tanker off the coast of Oman, killing the captain of the ship, a Romanian citizen, and a British crew member.

The ship was Japanese-owned and Liberian-flagged, but it was under management by a company called Zodiac Maritime, based in London, which is part of the Ofer Global Group, whose principal owner is Eyal Ofer, an Israeli billionaire who lives in Monaco.

T. Belman. What is going on here? Why did Republicans unanimously oppose this bill? And why did Democrats and J-Street support it. But that didn’t stop AIPAC from praising the “strong bipartisan support”. This article alludes to the reasons but doesn’t satisfy.  I don’t like the bill because it supports the two state solution and makes no mention of the Taylor Force amendment which  attacks financial support for terrorism.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday narrowly passed its fiscal year 2022 State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act, providing funding for America’s overseas interests for the upcoming year.

The bill, which was advised by numerous pro-Israel organizations, includes $3.3 billion in security assistance to Israel as one of its key provisions as outlined in the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two countries.

The bill passed by a vote of 217-212 on partisan lines, opposed unanimously by Republicans.

Handwritten notes from last December were suddenly turned over to Congress from the DOJ to prove the President Trump wanted the DOJ to intervene in the corrupt election. At the same time, the DOJ authorized the IRS to release Trump’s tax returns. Hmm. All right before the audit results are about to come out? One was from a December 27th phone call in which Jeffrey Rosen, who was Acting AG & a Barr lackey, said to Trump: “Understand that the DOJ can’t and won’t snap its fingers and change the outcome of the election.” Trump replied: “Don’t expect you to do that. Just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen.” The notes also show that President Trump wanted to oust Jeffrey Rosen and replace him with Jeff Clark so he could launch an investigation into voter fraud in Georgia. I thought that Trump was trying to do that back then! “People tell me Jeff Clark is great, I should put him in. People want me to replace DOJ leadership. Nobody trusts the FBI and many Americans are angry and blaming the DOJ for inaction. You guys may not be following the internet the way I do.”

NYT cites Israeli officials who say several UAVs apparently slammed into vessel’s living area; US Navy experts inspect boat, find ‘clear visual evidence that attack had occurred’

Several Iranian drones were apparently used in a strike on an oil tanker operated by an Israeli-owned company, killing two on board, unnamed Israeli officials told the New York Times on Saturday.

The Israeli officials told the newspaper that the strike earlier this week was apparently carried out by a number of Iranian drones that slammed into the ship’s living quarters underneath the vessel’s command center as it sailed off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea.

The sight of people burrowing in garbage cans to find some food, or a violent fight in a supermarket over a carton of milk, as well as gasoline lines extending for hours as fuel prices soar, are the telling stories of today’s Lebanon. The country is bankrupt due to the corruption of its political leaders, accused by many of pocketing public funds. The confessional leaders have not only mismanaged the economy, they likewise failed to protect the population from the coronavirus pandemic. If that is not enough, last year’s massive explosion at the Beirut port caused further deterioration to the already fragile economy. Throughout all this turmoil, there has not been a functioning government in Lebanon, and Hezbollah and its patron, the Islamic Republic of Iran, are holding the country hostage.
