Restart, Reset or Renew? The Strategy against Iranian Nuclear Ambition

by Peter Schweizer, GATESTONE INSTITUTE  •  January 14, 2021 at 5:00 am

  • Even if the deal negotiated in 2015 by the Obama administration were worth the effort, it is impossible to imagine the Iranians willingly recommitting to enrichment levels they have long since blown past. No one believes in their professed “peaceful use” of nuclear energy. So why does a return to the deal make any sense?
  • The killing of top terror-funding IRGC official Qasem Soleimani by the US military and Iran’s relatively toothless retaliatory attack against two US bases in Iraq suggest that the regime fears what an escalation of tensions would mean to its own future more than it desires to stab at the “Great Satan.” The regime may finally be on the verge of collapse.

Democrats, 10 Republicans Vote for 2nd Impeachment of Trump

BY IVAN PENTCHOUKOV, EPOCH TIMES    .January 13, 2021

Democrats in the House of Representatives, joined by 10 Republicans, voted to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time, in a 232–197 vote on Jan. 13. The single article of impeachment alleges that the president incited an insurrection that resulted in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

The impeachment, accomplished in a single seven-hour session, was the fastest in U.S. history. It is also the first time in the nation’s history that a president has been impeached twice.

Republicans criticized the rush, arguing that it offered no due process to the president and no confidence in the proceedings to the American people. Democrats justified the truncated process by alleging that Trump poses a danger to the nation every day he is in office.

Dennis Prager: Capitol Siege Was ‘Vile’ but Left’s Suppression of Free Speech Is Worse

Radio talk show host and columnist Dennis Prager said in an interview with The Epoch Times’ American Thought Leaders program Tuesday that, while last week’s violent siege of the U.S. Capitol was “vile” and “disgusting” and worthy of condemnation, the ongoing suppression of free speech in America by the left poses a bigger threat.

Prager was responding to a question about criticism leveled by some media personalities against some conservatives and “China hawks” who they accuse of being much more concerned about denouncing censorship and curtailment of freedom of speech rather than criticizing the Capitol riot.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office confirmed that he will not “consent” to reconvening the Senate before Jan. 19, effectively killing hopes for removing President Donald Trump from office before President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

A McConnell spokesman confirmed that their office told Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s staff that McConnell won’t “consent” to reconvening the Senate before Jan. 19 after a report broke Tuesday night that McConnell is reportedly considering voting to convict Trump in an impeachment trial.

Here’s How We Flatten the Democratic Party During the Next Four Years

BY DAVID P. GOLDMAN, PJ MEDIA JAN 11, 2021 10:11 PM ET

Trump made a colossal tactical blunder by telling his supporters to fight vote fraud in the streets. That led to last week’s excesses, and the biggest crackdown on conservatives in American history. David Horowitz likes to say, inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out. Is he ever right! The suspension of President Trump’s Twitter account (denounced by Germany’s Angela Merkel and top French officials as a violation of basic rights) is an affront to democracy: Whatever Trump did or didn’t do, he is the elected president of the United States, convicted in no court of law, and the people have the right to hear from him. The suspension of the free-speech social media platform Parler is another totalitarian outrage by what France’s Finance Minister calls “the digital oligarchy.” And now CNN demands that cable companies drop Fox News and Newsmax. 1 big thing: Top Republicans want Trump done — forevermore

Top Republicans want to bury President Trump, for good. But they’re divided whether to do it with one quick kill via impeachment, or let him slowly fade.

  • A House impeachment vote, which would make Trump the first president to be impeached twice, is expected mid-afternoon.

Sources tell me Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would be more likely than not to vote to convict Trump — a green light for other Republican senators to follow. Read more…

By ZEINA KARAM Wed, January 13, 2021, 9:20 AM

Airstrike (archive)

BEIRUT (AP) — Israeli warplanes carried out intense airstrikes on eastern Syria early Wednesday, apparently targeting positions and arms depots of Iran-backed fighters. Dozens of fighters were killed or wounded, according to an opposition war monitor.

Syria’s state news agency SANA said the strikes hit areas in and near the towns of Deir el-Zour, Mayadeen and Boukamal along the border with Iraq. It gave no further details.

All about Q and what is going on as we speak.

  • Congress received a sworn affidavit from a person in the Italian government who admitted that he was switching votes around to get the Biden win and that he worked with the Vatican.
  • Congress chose to ignore it and certify Biden anyway.  That makes them guilty of treason
  • When Trump was first elected 4 years ago, he and the military knew about the corruption, Trump wanted to clean the swamp then.  But the military said 70 of the government is complicit and there would be chaos if they were all removed
  • Since then Trump has been grooming replacements for these people who are now said to exceed 70%.
  • Italy is trying to get off the hook and Trump is inclined to let them providing it arrests a number of officials including from the Vatican.

By  Dr. Miriam Adelson

It is with unbearable pain that I announce the death of my husband, Sheldon, of complications from a long illness.

Sheldon was the love of my life. He was my partner in romance, philanthropy, political activism and enterprise. He was my soul-mate.

To me – as to his children, grandchildren, and his legions of friends and admirers, employees and colleagues – he is utterly irreplaceable.

Israel Is Facing a Domestic Existential Threat

By Maj. Gen. (res.) Gershon Hacohen, BESA January 12, 2021

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,881, January 12, 2021

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Israeli government is living in denial about the growing violent anarchy in the Negev, the Galilee, and in certain cities. Putting a stop to this phenomenon, which is developing into an existential threat, requires an all-out effort to enhance the power of the military and the police alongside appropriate preparations by the State Attorney’s Office and the legal system to restore sovereignty and governance.

A little over a week ago, cars and trucks of the Lod municipality were burned after an illegal residence was destroyed. Gunfire is heard routinely in that town. In the Galilee and the Negev, business owners and even government companies are submitting to threats of extortion and paying protection money in order to survive. In the Negev there is gunfire day and night, even in the vicinity of communities. Judges are threatened and the police suffer from a chronic lack of manpower.
