During the presidency of Thomas Jefferson, the Tenth Congress enacted the Insurrection Act of 1807, which was then signed by Jefferson into law, to foil the plot of Revolutionary War hero Aaron Burr—following the destruction of his political career after he shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel—to raise an army to establish his own dynasty in what was then the Louisiana Territory.

The Insurrection Act empowers the president of the United States to deploy U.S. military and federalized National Guard troops to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, and rebellion. Section 252 of the Act, states:

Thursday’s surprise announcement about Morocco agreeing to establish diplomatic relations with Israel was not a Hannukah miracle, as many Israeli politicians gushed when they lit their holiday candles, though the timing was indeed brightly appropriate. Rather, it had been a long time coming, as the North African kingdom has deep cultural and religious ties with the Jewish state, and had long been expected to join the current wave of Arab countries normalizing ties with Israel.

WASHINGTON—As credible allegations of election malfeasance continue to emerge, the majority of Republican politicians remain on the sidelines, simply saying that the president deserves his day in court.

On the federal level, among the most outspoken are, predictably, members of the House Freedom Caucus, many of whom hail from one of the six contested states—Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

Reps. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) and Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) go so far as to say they believe President Donald Trump won. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) is taking his case to the U.S. Supreme Court, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has offered to make oral arguments for the case.

On Tuesday, the State of Texas filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The suit alleged that, because these states conducted elections that violated their own laws, they tainted the integrity of the vote, something that damaged not only their own citizens but also the citizens in other states. Because this is an intelligent, powerful case, it’s no surprise that eight other states have already joined the litigation.

To date, we’ve seen a multiplicity of lawsuits filed although, significantly, none has come before the Supreme Court for substantive review. Courts in various states, however, have proven resistant to these suits.

Likud MK Gideon Sa’ar, long seen as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief rival within Likud, on Tuesday announced he was quitting Likud and will form his own right-wing party, to be called “New Hope,” and run for the premiership in the next election.

Sa’ar announced his intention to leave Likud at a press conference on Tuesday night. He said he would quit the ruling party and the Knesset on Wednesday.

In a fiery critique, Sa’ar, a former leading Likud minister, said his party had become a “tool for the personal interests of the person in charge, including matters relating to his criminal trial,” and had fostered “a cult of personality” around Netanyahu.

First poll after Gideon Sa’ar announces formation of new party shows him in third place with 17 seats, denying Netanyahu a majority.

The first poll conducted since former minister and ex-Likud MK Gideon Sa’ar announced his plans to form a new party to challenge Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu shows the new faction winning an impressive 17 seats, making it the third largest party in the Knesset.

The poll was conducted by Panels Politics, with the data collected by Panel4All from an internet survey Tuesday night, and published Wednesday morning by Radio 103FM.

If new elections were held today, the poll found, the Likud would plummet from its current 36 seats to 25 mandates, down from 29 in last Friday’s Panels Politics poll.

I have high hopes for this lawsuit.  The USSC is asked rule on a point of law, namely were the changes to the law premitted by officials, legal?  In other words, I expect the Court to reaffirm that all changes to the rules must be done by the legislature.  I can’t imagine them not ruling otherwise. Thus the Court doesn’t have to look into the question of fraud.  If they rule so, each legislature must then appoint electors or no electors.  Either way Trump wins reelection.

Another reason for the court to rule against the changes to the law permitting more mail-in ballots is that it violates the voter’s equal protection rights.  This is the same reason that the Court ruled against the hanging chads. Dershowitz thinks not.

On Monday morning the state of Texas sued Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the US Supreme Court challenging their unlawful election procedures.

Texas argued these four states violated the US Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions.  But these states did not make the changes through the state legislatures as spelled out in the US Constitution.

Then later this evening Allen West announced that seven additional states had joined Texas in its lawsuit against unlawful election procedures.

Texas on Tuesday filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging election procedures in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin over potential voter fraud.

Then later this afternoon the Supreme Court denied the Pennsylvania injunction case before the court.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, saying that “the 2020 election suffered from significant and unconstitutional irregularities” in the four battleground states.

“Trust in the integrity of our election process is sacrosanct and binds our citizenry and the States in the Union together,” Paxton said in a statement, according to KTVT-TV.

“Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin destroyed that trust and compromised the security and integrity of the 2020 election.”

According to the lawsuit, the battleground states used the COVID-19 pandemic as a justification and “usurped their legislatures’ authority and unconstitutionally revised their state’s election statutes,” allegedly weakening ballot integrity.

It is impossible to have watched the election-related hearings in Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia, as well as to have read the signed affidavits in the lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign and Sidney Powell in those three states, without concluding that there was massive election fraud last month. Thirty-six members of the House Freedom Caucus want Attorney General William Barr to release the findings of the Justice Department’s investigation into vote fraud (the one in which apparently none of the hundreds of people who signed the aforementioned affidavits were interviewed), as reported by The Daily Signal.
