It takes place during my college years (late fifties and sixties) so everything was so very familiar. I chose to introduce this fantastic series to you by way of this Cinematography Breakdown. Trump’s “obsession” with immigration has to do with his desire to keep terrorists and antisemites out. He also wants to protect the jobs and wages of Americans. Excessive immigration reduces both.
Two years after the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre, the oldest hatred is flourishing across the political spectrum.

On Oct. 27, 2018, a man armed with a semiautomatic rifle and three pistols entered Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue and murdered 11 congregants. In addition to raging antisemitism, the killer had a more immediate motive: fury that the synagogue had participated in the National Refugee Shabbat, sponsored by the humanitarian group HIAS, formerly known as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
“HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people,” he wrote on a social network. “I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Screw your optics, I’m going in.”
Analysts say the assault, which violated a seven-month truce, could be seen as a warning to Ankara.

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Russian war planes struck a camp of Turkish-backed rebel fighters in northwestern Syria on Monday, killing dozens of Syrian fighters as well as civilians harvesting olives nearby, according to a rebel spokesman, in the bloodiest surge in violence since a cease-fire came into effect seven months ago.
The strike targeted the group Faylaq al-Sham, whose base is near several refugee camps in the heavily populated province of Idlib. Several million people live in the province, many of them displaced from other parts of Syria by the country’s nine-year civil war.
Early reports put the toll at 34 dead and 70 wounded, but the death toll quickly rose to 60 with news of civilians killed outside the camp. Video footage from the scene showed the bodies of at least a dozen fighters wrapped in blankets on the floor of a clinic.

‘Death to America!” is a common refrain from antifa rioters from Portland, Ore., to Kenosha, Wis. Children are in the streets calling for the country’s destruction while mobs of college kids trash public spaces, filming themselves as though part of a performance-art spectacle. Neither political party has been willing or able to end this anarchy. Extremism becomes more entrenched in American politics with each passing day.
These acts of violence encapsulate five decades of neo-Marxist indoctrination in American schools, colleges and universities. The left’s “long march” through the institutions is all but complete. Extreme intolerance has now replaced the liberal notion of negotiated compromise that is the sine qua non of democracy. America’s young, especially those raised in middle-class or affluent homes, have been so brainwashed that they no longer notice how absurd it is to call for the eradication of their own nation-state, and to do so in the lingo of Iran’s mullahs.

The media keeps blaming President Trump for a worldwide rise in new coronavirus cases. From Biden on down, Democrats and their media insist that wearing masks will solve everything. Except that Europe is full of masks and is still surging.
Spain last week became the first Western European country to surpass 1 million confirmed cases, and Mr. Sánchez said he would ask Parliament to approve the state of emergency until May.
In France, which quickly caught up to the million mark, the numbers seemed to just be climbing. On Sunday, the authorities announced a record 52,010 new case, the fourth day in a row they exceeded 40,000.
The media has been playing up America’s 80,000 number while blaming President Trump. But France is topping America’s cases by over three times when you take population numbers into account. And it’s being run by Macron who can’t be painted with the media’s favorite tag of authoritarian populist.
Before signing the peace treaty with Israel, Sudan’s leaders first had to overcome three obstructions that threatened to suffocate and ruin the vast country.

The normalization agreement between Israel and Sudan is a success story for both sides, where there are no losers, only winners. Sudan, as a result of this treaty, received an economic lifeline of expunged debts worth $60 billion and a horizon that includes returning to the family of nations after being removed from the list of state sponsors of terror. Israel received much more than a shorter flight route to South America: an optimistic forecast for the domino effect and the crumbling of another brick in the wall of Arab hostility.
Khir Allah, one of the more important writers and intellectuals in the Arab world, wrote on Sunday that Sudan’s decision to normalize ties with Israel conveys a divorce from three obstructions that had suffocated this vast country and threatened to ruin it completely.
T. Belman. I have no reason to doubt these polls. But believing it to be so, doesn’t make it so i.e that Republicans are antisemetic.. Too bad that party affiliation wasn’t recorded. The 52% of Americans, I would venture to say are all Democrats. Similarly I would venture to say that of the 82% , 90% are Democrats. Bottom line is that if they did a poll of Registered Democrats, they would find that nearly all of them think the GOP is antisemetic.

JTA — More than two-thirds of American Jews, and slightly more than half of all Americans, believe the Republican Party holds a lot or some anti-Semitic views.
That’s one takeaway from two surveys published Monday by the American Jewish Committee, just over a week before the US elections. The surveys asked Jews and the general American public about antisemitism in the United States.

Thanks to President Trump’s latest executive order, there’s got to be a sense of panic across every administrative agency in Washington. Last week, President Trump issued an order bearing the innocuous title, “Executive Order on Creating Schedule F In The Excepted Service.” Behind that title lurks an earthquake that may finally break the permanent bureaucracy’s stranglehold on federal politics and bring more accountability to the American government.
When the Founders ratified the Constitution, they envisioned only three branches of government: The Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary branches. However, Bya, AM THINKER as America grew, a bureaucratic class grew along with it.
In theory, the federal bureaucracy is a subset of the Executive branch. Its purpose is to act as the President’s agent in carrying out the laws that Congress passes. Also, in theory, the people working in the federal bureaucracy act strictly without partisanship, performing their work for all Americans’ benefit, not for a specific political party’s benefit.

When IDF medic Elor Azaria shot in the head Abdel Fatah al-Sharif, a neutralized Palestinian who had stabbed an IDF soldier in Hebron, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, defense minister Moshe Ya’alon and IDF chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot held emergency consultations to decide how to respond.
The three agreed to condemn Azaria, call the incident a violation of the IDF’s code of ethics and ensure a thorough military investigation.That was on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Two days later, on Saturday night, Netanyahu told confidants he had changed his mind and was seriously considering expressing support for Azaria and calling his father, which the premier ultimately did a few days later.

What do I read during an epidemic? What else but books about epidemics, like John M. Barry’s “The Great Influenza,” about the catastrophic 1918 pandemic that killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide.
The 1918 disease, incorrectly called “Spanish flu,” probably first jumped from pigs to humans in the American Midwest, and then spread all over the world. It was both more contagious and more deadly than today’s Coronavirus; and medicine at that time – especially in the US – was surprisingly primitive. Some American doctors in 1918 still believed in bleeding as an effective treatment for various illnesses. Viruses had been known to cause disease – Polio for example – for some time, but most doctors and researchers believed that influenza was caused by a bacillus. There was no preventative medication and no treatment that had a significant effect on the course of the disease.
Many liberal academics preach that violence is due to our lack of tolerance for the “root causes” of that violence, so anything goes. Op-ed.

Israeli officials believe Oman is next in line to normalize relations with Israel in the near future, following the Jewish state’s blitz of deals with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and most recently Sudan, according to a report Saturday.
Channel 12 said sources in the government claimed an announcement was even potentially possible before the US presidential election on November 3rd, though they stressed it could take more time, as Muscat would likely wait to see where political winds are blowing in Washington before making any major decisions.

There’s much talk now, in the wake of other Gulf area breakthroughs, that Saudi Arabia is being heavily courted on to join the normalization/peace movement regarding Israel.
While shalom/salaam is good, it’s important to realize that, as with another nation–the Sudan–Saudi Arabia comes into this with its own severe baggage And yes–it is nice for Israel to be able to cut travel time and save fuel by being able to fly over Saudi air space..
For starters, however, let’s just say that the much-touted, decades old Saudi peace (of the grave) plan must be dropped like a nuked potato.
Why would small groups in Gaza, such as Islamic Jihad, suddenly care about a cartoon in France when they have more pressing issues? This is a sort of regional competition over who “defends Muslims.”

Turkey, Iran, Qatar, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have come out with statements over the weekend slamming France over alleged “insults to Islam,” in a campaign of media hype that appears designed to create a controversy over France’s reactions to the murder of a teacher. French teacher Samuel Paty was murdered on October 16 in a gruesome beheading in which a parent from the school had incited another man to come and murder him over allegations he showed cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammed.
While the murder was widely condemned and France went into national mourning, there has been a different reaction from countries whose leaders are rooted in political Islam. Muslim Brotherhood affiliated polities, such as Turkey which is run by the AK Party, and Qatar which tends to support Brotherhood politics, as well as Hamas in Gaza, have all condemned France and France’s President Emmanuel Macron, instead of condemning the murder of the teacher.

But as the U.S. has reduced its regional footprint and ambitions, the Middle East has begun to change on its own. One of the most recent signs of its metamorphosis was Saudi Prince Bandar’s blistering criticism of Palestinian leaders for their decades of poor decision-making. His words are underscored by his kingdom’s decision to open its airspace to commercial flights from Tel Aviv to Dubai. Taken with the United Arab Emirates shifting from not recognizing the Jewish state to building a warm peace and economic partnerships with Israel, it’s clear the region is moving away from the predictable sterility of the past toward something genuinely new.
