Amitai Etzioni, professor of International Relations at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., ‘The U.S. will have to confront Iran or give up the Middle East’ and that believes the only option available to contain Iran’s atomic ambitions is a series of assaults on its non-nuclear facilities.

He also believes that even if we get rid of the Mullahs, and a seculoar overnment is formed, it will still want nuclear weapons.

I have advocated regime change for some time and I believe that a new government can be managed if need be.

  1. Who will dominate the ME, The US, Iran, or Israel? How long will you lean on the increasingly weak reed, the US? Israel must dominate the levant/middle east!!! Israel will have to confront Iran, defeat it and its allies. I am an American I wish desperately that the US will recover but lets admit the obvious it doesn’t look good. Israel the torch is being passed take it. May God bless your efforts.

    I agree that we are the only one but not for you or anyone else, just for ourselves we don’t owe anyone this time.

    Bernstein Research believes that Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) may be interested in making another acquisition following its takeover of German generic drug company Ratiopharm GmbH in March.

    Bernstein Research analyst Dr. Ronny Gal noted the $2.5 billion that Teva raised in a bond offering last week, which will be used toward the $5 billion price tag of Ratiopharm. Teva also use the proceeds to pay off its credit line taken in the wake of its acquisition of Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. in 2008. Read More

    Ellomay Capital Ltd. (Bulletin Board: EMYCF) has expanded its turn-key deal with an Italian contractor for two photovoltaic plants in the Marche Region along the Adriatic Sea. The plants will cost €5.6 million altogether, plus €150,000 in related expenses.

    Ellomay is controlled by former Bank Hapoalim chairman Shlomo Nehama.

    Israel wants the Obama administration and Lockheed-Martin Company (NYSE: LMT) to set up a US-run logistics and maintenance center for the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet in the Negev, reports “Defense News”, quoting US and Israeli government and industry sources. Lockheed-Martin is the chief contractor for the F-35, which is due to become the next-generation mainstay of the Israel Air Force.

    Gamida Cell announced today that its joint venture with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) has received an US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) fast track designation for its stem cell therapy for blood cancers.

    The product, called StemEx, is being developed as an alternative to a bone marrow transplant for patients with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.

    Tel Aviv’s skyline continues to grow higher. The Tel Aviv Local Planning and Building Commission yesterday allowed the adding of floors to the Meier on Rothschild luxury residential skyscraper to a total of 37 floors. The building is owned by Berggruen Residential Ltd. (TASE:BRGN.B1), owned by Nicolas Berggruen and his partners Hagag and Cohen.

    The approval brings Meier on Rothschild almost to the height of the Neve Tzedek by the Sea skyscraper, which is being built by Eurocom Global Real Estate Ltd. (TASE: EGRE) and ZMH Hammerman Ltd. (TASE:ZMH). In January Tel Aviv Local Planning and Building Commission allowed the adding of ten floors to this project, bringing it to 40 floors.

    Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau told “Bloomberg” yesterday that Israel is even willing to use force to protect offshore natural gas finds after the speaker of Lebanon’s parliament said the fields extended into his nation’s waters.

    “We will not hesitate to use our force and strength to protect not only the rule of law but international maritime law,” said Landau. “Whatever we find, they will have something to say. That’s because they’re not challenging our findings and so-called occupation of the sea. Our very existence here is a matter of occupation for them. These areas are within the economic waters of Israel.

    Ten days ago, Hizbullah warned Israel not to extract gas from the recently discovered fields, because they belong to Lebanon.

    Idan Ofer considers setting up oil refinery in Iraq – report

    As relations cool with Turkey, the Israel Corp. chairman met with Kurdish leaders in northern Iraq last month.

    Israel Corp. (TASE:ILCO) chairman Idan Ofer visited the Kurdish autonomous region of northern Iraq last month according to a report on the French website JSS News. The report claimed that Ofer met with Kurdish Vice President Kosrat Rasul and his son Darbaz Rasul on May 27 and is considering setting up an oil refinery in the northern Iraq city of Kirkuk together with European businesspeople.

    According to the report Ofer arrived with a delegation of businesspeople and met in Sulaymaniyah with the Kurdish leaders and other senior local figures. The report said, “Kurdish sources expressed great interest at the possibility of Israeli involvement in the region, especially against the background of the cooling of of relations between Turkey and Israel.”
