“Expel Two Million.” Eighteen Months. Zero Flights.

Peloni: The failure to see the gates of Gaza opened, even as the US is taking on the new controlling authority there as Trump personally heads the Board of Peace, portrays a serious implication for the future.  Regardless of whether the number of people wanting to leave Gaza is 80% or merely 8%, it remains intolerable that the US would not facilitate the movement of these people outside of a city sized war zone.   As the world’s super power stand as the gatekeeper on not only holding the Gazans in place but also seeing that Hamas stands ever more entrenched over them, one might honestly ask exactly what excuse might support doing so which does not place the US in a very bad light.  As the sentiments out of Washington are routinely echoing false narratives on behalf of suffering Gazans, why might Washington prefer to hold the Gazans in this Gaza sized cage with a Hamas sized taskmaster, even as there are nations which would accept.

This policy by the US is highly reminiscent of American refusal to allow Israel to enact the General’s plan in Gaza a year ago, prior to the adoption of the insidious Trump 20-Point plan.  Note that the General’s plan was to allow the Gazans to leave north Gaza for southern Gaza and thereby isolate Hamas in place where they could be targeted while unencumbered by the presence of civilian human shields.  The same resistance which held the Gazans in place in north Gaza a year ago seems to prefer to hold the Gazans in Gaza, no matter how many or how few might actually want to leave.  This is a very bad role for the US to play, just as it was a very bad role for Israel to play in accepting Trump’s 20-Point Plan which supported this, albeit on a far smaller timeline than the 18 months that is referenced in the video below.
