Peloni: Allowing such totalitarian nations as Qatar, China and Saudi Arabia to have a voice within the political discourse in the US is how freedom is lost and sovereignty is surrendered to nations that are specifically wedded for the single purpose of conquering the American nation. How long will it be before the American people announce that their educational and political spheres are no longer open to the authoritarian influences of its enemies.

After years of escalating antisemitism, Jews around the world are faced with intimidation, harassment, assaults, and vandalism. This has resulted in fear, pain, and a realization that hatred against Jews is being tolerated in ways that would be unacceptable if it were, in fact, directed at many other groups.
I believe that some institutions are beginning to recognize the seriousness of this problem, although it remains to be seen whether meaningful progress follows.
Extremist rhetoric has fueled a climate of fear in Jewish students and professors on many campuses and in public areas. According to numerous reports, foreign funding sources, such as those from Qatar, have greatly influenced academic and political discourse.
Leadership requires the willingness to confront terrorism and antisemitism rather than accommodate or excuse them.
