The outcome of the audience was to give the debate to McFaul/Sikorski, which I am dumbfounded having watched it. I will note that McFaul and Sikorski are much less polite in their debate style, so perhaps this was the mark of their success. I found Amb. McFaul to routinely use specious arguments and half truths, such as NATO not expanding since 2008. Likewise the McFaul/Sikorski team seemed to continuously ignore the fact that it was not a debate about how the war began, but by what approach it needed to be ended. I do think the debate was handily won beyond any debate (pun intended), but not by the stated victors, not in my view.

A sobering and correct analysis. Ukraine has lost and all the US and “western” false messaging aren’t going to change it. Of course those who were/are paying attention already knew what the outcome would be when the war started.
The US and other “western” leaders made their decisions based upon ideology rather than geopolitical reality when they decided to needlessly provoke Russia and support Ukraine. Such decisions seldom end well. Tye US especially will be very fortunate to escape this without having to pay significant financial reparations to Russia and its people. After all the 600 billion or so confiscated from Russia is outright theft. Repayment plus interest will obviously be demanded. Furthermore sanctions were unjustly imposed on Russia based upon false allegations of electoral interference and other nonsense US officials came up with. Such sanctions will be viewed by the target as acts of war and compounding the situation these sanctions were/are based upon lies. Obviously there’s going to be consequences for such actions.
Perhaps it’s much worse than ideology that explains this. A top British official recently bellowed that Russia threatens the current “world order.” If the current world order passed away, many would say GOOD RIDDANCE!! The numerous masses suffering under it will no doubt applaud and aren’t going to give much thought to what comes next. Those who are suffering under the current “world order” aren’t going to dwell on such things. Does this British official even comprehend the suffering and damage his “world order” has wrought? Probably not.
Perhaps he does understand and his actions are far more primal, SURVIVAL!! If the current world order passes away, this man and his fellow travelers will likely face, at a minimum, significant jail time and justifiably so. Many US and “western” leaders will justifiably face execution. This man may be one of them. Essentially for these people it’s a fight to the death and they’re willing to sacrifice all of us!! As their losses pile up, they are becoming increasingly desperate. I fail to understand why we should all die for them.
Obvuously Russia and their allies are going to remake the world order. Will it be better or worse than the current one? This isn’t known right now. Obvuously the US will not be allowed to continue to exist, at least not on it’s current form. My prayer is that the Russian leadership and the Russian people would show mercy towards us the American people and distinguish between us and our leadership.
