  1. Haven’t watched this yet but I read his groundbreaking book, “IBM and the Holocaust” about how from 1933, the German government leased IBM’s punchcard system, the precursor to the computer, to organize the detailed census about every aspect of German citizen’s lives, even where they would go to the barber to get shaved and this is why they knew where to find all the Jews.

For this reason, forms that ask questions about race and ethnicity make me very uneasy and I generally refuse to answer them.

One year, the late Rush LImbaugh suggested that people answer “American” on his radio show. I did that on the census form and the post office began messing with my mail for quite some time after that. This was under Obama.

On the hospital form, I wrote, “Buddhist.”

Though, you know, when I took my late mother to the emergency room, one time, and the nurse asked her her religion, my secular assimilated Jewish New Age mother replied, “universal.” So, they sent up a female reform rabbi up to see her.
