Peloni: It is so sad to see what has become of Europe. The recent embrace of terrorists on their streets will continue to have an impact on the safety and security of their citizens which extends well beyond that of their Jewish minority communities, for whom they have demonstrated gross contempt and utter disregard.

@Adam
I rescued your post, just FYI
Peloni and Ted, once again my most recent comment, concerned with Saudi warnings of the Christmas market attack over a period of several months before it happened, has disappeared immediately after posted it, and did not post. Please retrieve it and publish it it in this space. Thanks.
German and British news outlets have now reported that the government of Saudi Arabia had informed four different German government agencies within the past few months, that the individual who just committed the Christmas market massacre was a dangerous terrorist, a member of a terrorist organization, and that he was planning to carry out a major terrorist attack in Germany in the immediate fuuture. These German and British news outlets claimthat alll four of these government agencies, all concerned in some way with law enforcement, ignored these Sauadi warnings and did not either detain this guy (a pasychiatrist no less) or question him about these allegations. However these news reports about the Saudi warnings are very vague. They do not say which German law enforcement agencies were contacted, exactly when these warnings were received, and what were the content of these warnings. No news outlet that I have been able to locate has published the text of these Saudi reports to the German government. I have no when idea whether this information will be made available to the German and international publics. But I hope some courageous investigatiive reporter or reporting team will track down the facts behing these vague and very general reports. We the people have a right to know who is behind these terrible atrocities, which have all the hallmarks of Islamist terrorism, but were committed by a man who has claimed over the past eighteen years to be opposed to both Islamism and terrorism.
This is something that I posted on a British media site: ” notice that all of the commentators are evading the question that needs to be answered about this terrorist attack: Why did a man who had posted his support for right wing German politics for years, condemned Islamists and Islamism, and had even posted remarks sympathetic to Israel, then commit what certainly seems to be an Islamist terrorist attack? Because this is something of a conundrum, you are all evading the issue and talking about other matters.”
For years, the terrorist who committed this appalling crime had been posting things on social media nearly every day denouncing Islamism, Islamists, and the Islamic media in general. He described himself as an atheist ex-Muslim. He had also frequently praised Afd, the right wing German political party, urged his internet followers (said to number as many as 42,000) to vote for AFd candidates in recent German elections. And only two days before he committed this terrorist attack on a Christmas open-air market, he had posted an admiring profile on his social media site of the leader of AFd. Why then did he commit an anti-Christian terrorist attack?
Possibe explanations: He had been a secret Islamist agent all along, a member of a terrorist sleeper cell, and his constant stream of anti-Islamist , patriotic German patriotic posts had been a smokescreen. While an obvious possibility, the sheer volume of his anti-Islamist, pro-German “indigenous” people posts, and even occasional pro-Israel posts seem to me to have been an act too difficult to keep up for all these years if it was a complete from beginning to end. Not impossible, but unlikely. Another possibility is that he had learned that he had a fatal illness, had gone to respected imam belonging to his sect of Islam (he was a “Shi-ite) and offered to do something to “atone” for his long years of “apostacy.” Perhaps this imam had then suggested the attack on a Christmas market as a way of atoning for his years of anti-Muslim propaganda. Still a third possibility is that he assumed everyone in Germany would assume that this was an Islamist terrorist atrocity and would vote for Afd in the soon-to-be -held German national and provincial elections.
Will the German police and courts ever conduct a thorough investigation to determine this terrorists’ motives, who he may have been working for or with, who his co-conspirators were if there were any co-conspirators? I think to this question we can answer with some degree of certainty “no.” The German police have repeatedly covered up terrorist atrocities committed by leftists, rightists and Islamists, including the Munich Olympics massacre terrorists, the numerous terrorist atacks carried out by the Bader-Meinhof gang in the sixties, seventies and eighties, and murders committed by the “Stasi,” the secret police of the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany), Muslims living in Germany who were co-conspirators in the 9-11 attacks in the United States. Some German and other media outlets report that numerous members of all of these criminal groups are living quiet, peaceful lives in Germany and/or other European countries. Of course, numerous former Nazi war criminals also lived prosperous and happy lives in postwar ‘democratic: Germany for at least two generations after 1945. Some even rose to high political and/or judicial office.
Why should things be any different with this terrorist attack and the terrorist who carried it out?
