Lebanon is Scared…Not of the IDF, but of the Israeli Spirit

Peloni:  The inevitable solution to the international communities’ resolve to preserve Hezbollaah in Lebanon has had an obvious result.  There can be no peace with an unpeaceable neighbor, even if the reason Lebanon’s hostility is related to Iran having colonized it and seized control from the native people.  There can be but one solution, and while Ben Gurion suggested that the Litani River should have been the northern border, it is likely that such a border would itself still be too far south.

Lebanese television recently aired a report expressing clear concern, even alarm, over a growing movement inside Israel about settling Jewish ancestral lands of the Dan and Naftali Biblical Tribes in southern Lebanon, extending the Israeli border up to the Litani River.

The idea is being discussed by some in Israel as a distinctly regional approach, and a proper Jewish response to Hezbollah’s ongoing Jihadi terror against us, one that emphasizes strong deterrence and imposing tangible consequences on Hezbollah for its genocidal aggression.

All of this comes after decades in which Hezbollah transformed entire Lebanese villages into military strongholds embedded within civilian infrastructure, built vast underground city tunnel networks along Israel’s border, some extending into Israeli territory, and prepared for large-scale attacks that would make Hamas’ Oct. 7th invasion look tiny, all while openly violating UN resolutions, operating under the nose of international forces tasked with stopping them, and despite the existence of a Lebanese state and army that, at least on paper, are meant to restrain and disarm it.

International diplomacy has failed us for decades. We can no longer rely on it, not even when being led by President Trump, especially when dealing with a state like Lebanon, whose political system and security apparatus are heavily influenced by Hezbollah.

Lebanon is no longer functioning as a fully sovereign state. It is a failed state. Its political system and security institutions are deeply shaped by Hezbollah’s influence, reflecting the power it derives from significant support within parts of the Shiite population.

Now it’s time for a solution that actually pushes the jihadi enemy further away and makes them lose the one thing Jihadi Muslims care about, land. How? By pushing the enemy Jihadi population out of South Lebanon, liberating our ancestral lands and resettling it with Jewish communities.

And the Lebanese television program shows that they are seriously afraid of this new spirit in Israel.

Let that sink in.

This wasn’t some Israeli right-wing podcast. This was Lebanese TV, openly acknowledging that Israelis are starting to rethink the entire northern border. And they even included my headline op-ed in the Jerusalem Post back in March, where I wrote that it’s time to implement Ben-Gurion’s vision: the Litani River must be Israel’s natural northern border.

After everything we’ve lived through, after Israelis in Northern Israel living without safety for years, watching Hezbollah turn southern Lebanon into an Iranian forward base aimed directly at our homes, both above and underground, the logic is no longer theoretical. It is painfully obvious.

What is the alternative?

Another worthless international agreement that won’t be kept?

Another “ceasefire” with Lebanon, an impotent puppet state run by Hezbollah, that simply gives Hezbollah time to rearm?

Another round of quiet that ends with our children running to bomb shelters when Hezbollah decides to shoot at us again?

Do you really think that if Iran falls, Hezbollah simply disappears? Islamic jihadi groups like Hezbollah are deeply rooted, ideologically and organizationally, in a 1,400+ year Islamic jihadi ideology taught to them by Muhammad in the Koran. They will never stop. Even when weakened, they will adapt, regroup, and find new sources of support.

We’ve already buried too many friends because of the failed strategy of diplomacy.

This is not about expansion for expansion’s sake.

This is about basic security.

This is about survival.

This is about punishing an enemy.

This is about finally having a defensible border instead of living with an Iranian proxy jihadi army sitting on our doorstep.

Hezbollah has been waging this jihadi war against us for decades and nothing has stopped them from rearming and attacking Israelis.

It’s time they pay a real, steep price for their evil Jihadi ideology.

Simply killing these terrorists doesn’t work. In their twisted worldview, being killed while trying to murder Jews makes them martyrs who go straight to heaven, and they are immediately replaced by the next generation of bloodthirsty jihadis their jihadi Muslim society proudly raises for that very purpose.
Israel’s Founding Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion understood this at the very founding of the state. We ignored it for decades at our own peril. Now reality, and the blood of our people, is forcing us to confront it again.

And now, when even Lebanese television is openly voicing fear that Israel may actually implement this, you know the old illusions are beginning to crumble.

It is only a matter of time before we resettle our Biblical lands in southern Lebanon. Given Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cautious approach to major strategic shifts, this is unlikely to occur during his tenure. Nonetheless, the underlying pressures in Israeli society that want a total win to end this war, point to an outcome that will eventually become unavoidable. Because with each day, more Jews in Israel are talking about it as the only way to end this war, while also allowing us to fulfill our sacred responsibility as the Jewish people, back as sovereign in our ancestral homeland to remove Jihadi evil from God’s holy land once and for all.

We did not return after 2,000 years of exile to live in fear on our own border. We returned to live as a free, proud, and secure nation that sanctifies God’s name by ridding His land of those who seek to destroy us and spread evil.

The time for half-measures and dangerous illusions is over.

The time to secure our borders, our people, and our destiny has arrived.

Am Yisrael Chai!!!
