Right wing projected at 62 seats.

Naftali Bennett is on a roll.

By Ted Belman

Yamina now leads  MK Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope party, and is  projected to become the third largest party in the Knesset, according to a new poll released Thursday.

The poll  found that if new elections were held today, the Likud would win 29 seats, down from 31 in the previous Direct Polls survey, which was published in early February.

Yamina gained 2 seats going from 11 to 13 .

Yesh Atid rose from 14 seats to 18, while the New Hope plummeted from 14 seats to 11.

The Joint Arab List would win eight seats if new elections were held today, while Yisrael Beytenu would win nine seats. The United Arab List, which split from the Joint Arab List, failed to cross the 3.25% electoral threshold, receiving 2.9%.

The Blue and White party gained ground, rising from four seats to six, while Labor fell from seven seats to six.

Among the haredi factions, Shas held stable at eight seats, while United Torah Judaism received seven seats.

The Religious Zionist Party alliance with Otzma Yehudit and Noam rose from four seats to five, while Meretz again failed to cross the electoral threshold, receiving just 2.1% of the vote.

The right-wing – religious bloc received a total of 62 seats in the poll, while the left-wing – Arab bloc received 38 seats, with 20 seats going to right-of-center parties which have vowed not to sit with a government led by Binyamin Netanyahu.

    Fine, sorry, I forgot.
It is, actually, YOU who doesn’t have a clue and speaks in propaganda cliches.
I will not respond to any of your posts.

  2. @ Ted Belman:
“Lowering taxes creates jobs and ends in higher wages.”
Really? Who told you that fairy tale?
Is that what Reaganomics did for the United States?
Other than moving most of the industry to China and permitting the companies like General Electric to pay zero or almost zero taxes?
    And creating a multi-billion $$ debt?
    And stagnation in real earnings?
And inflation which, according to the government “experts” doesn’t exist (unless, of course, you look at the rent, food, and other prices)?
And the $, unlike the shekel, is the world currency which makes things a lot easier for the US, even when they get screwed up.

Israel has just spent huge amounts of money for the vaccine, its economy has been badly hurt, and the government needs to LOWER taxes?!

Well, if you wish to have the same health care system as in the US where the elderly are forced to pay $1,000/mo for health insurance if they can get it, and millions of people don’t even have health insurance – go ahead, vote for Bennett (who is a wealthy businessman himself).

I used to like Bennet and Yamina but now they are turning into the sort of common politicians who will say anything to get votes, or do anything they want even if it ruins the country.

TED, my DAILY DIGEST has not arrived for the third day, and I have/had a post “in moderation”…almost unique. Some computer error maybe??

I regard this as the only common-sense post on the board. Yamina has gained for the first time, a perhaps temporary bump which brings them 2 seats more than Sa’ar. and you are all talking “Pie-in-the-sky” right away.

Your observations, and the pertinent Obama isQUESTION, is the BIG one.

My own opinion is that Netanyahu will give up being PM when he has both legs broken permanently and his wheel chair stops working. Politicials like Bennett, good at what he does in the tiny Israel confines, come along in almost every election-until they fail, and he has made several very poor, stupid comments. Statesmen like Netanyahu arrive every century. He has been the saviour of Israel countless times and, almost single handed has made Israel an important world power.

All the time battling politically concocted criminal allegations, lies, and EU and Obama opposition.

This talk about stepping down if made President and being “pardoned” …what nonsense…Unless he has a stroke and can’t talk. As soon as the “charges came out, they were UNANIMOUSLY condemned as political, concocted, and illusory. Many famous world wide scholars gave the same opinions. …that they were criminal charges made especially for Netanyahu and had no legal merit.

You have all, nearly all, forgotten this.. How the breeze of a year or two blows away memories and facts. The BIG LIE beomes truth.

Of course, perhaps TED and Bear know a lot more than I do about it, It wuldn’t be hard, but I am going on what we all have read in these pages of Israpundit and Arutz 7. I have also seen Youtube videos ridiculing the “unique Netanyahu criminal charges based on champagne and cigars, and trying, as a politician, to get better news coverage,” even called “Cigargate”.

There’s been another poll giving the right wing 61 seats. Tomorrow, who knows. Of course nothing is impossible in politics. YMany historical instances of a lesser man being appointed over a greater.

  4. r@ Ted Belman:
Bibi might offer the same deal offered Gantz, I would think. Will Bennett take it? Defense Minister first and then Prime Minister. I would think Bennett would say no to this but one can not be sure.

If Bibi offered him to Prime Minister in a right wing government he likely would say yes I think. Pardoning Bibi and making him President perhaps?? The Likud and Yamina could merge with Bennett as the number ONE?

  5. Will Naftali Bennett be prime minister in rotation?
Senior sources on the center-left discuss allowing MK Naftali Bennett to serve as prime minister in rotation.

Senior sources on the center-left camp have admitted that they are seriously considering the option of allowing Yamina Chairman MK Naftali Bennett to serve as the first prime minister in a rotation deal, for a period of one year, News 13 reported.

According to the report, this option is being examined among those aiming to replace Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, as part of the preparations for the day after the elections.

The plan assumes that Netanyanu’s bloc wins at least 61 Knesset seats, including those of Yamina, and is an attempt to seduce Bennett into joining a government to replace Netanyahu, instead of agreeing to form a government composed of right-wing and haredi parties.

  6. @ Ted Belman:
Bennett is great, he understand economics and business and defense. Everything Israel needs!!

He knows by lowering taxes people will spend more more money accelerating the economy and creating more jobs which Israel now needs so badly. In addition the growth will create more tax revenue.

  7. @ peloni1986:
Bennett is highly capable and knowledgeable! Until someone is PM they have not been tested. Bibi has done good things for Israel but he has been too long in office and this is not healthy especially as his scandals and trials compromise his decision making.

  8. @ Reader:
I thought we had an understanding that I have no interest in your comments because you consistently comment on what you have no clue nor knowledge on it. Kindly refrain directing comments to me. Thanks again!

  9. @ peloni1986:
I like Bennet’s policies and leadership abilities. He isn’t compromised like Netanyahu is. There is no anybody but Bennett movement.

In addition Netanyahu was for ever putting the brakes on asserting our sovereignty in J&S. Bennett and Shaked will get the job done in J&S and in the High Court.

  10. @ Bear Klein:
    @ Ted Belman:

So, do you believe that Bennet will be able to face down against an Obama’s third term as capably as Netanyahu? No sarcasm intended, serious question here. I like Bennett, always have, but I am concerned about him leading the country against the likes of Obama and company(we all know CCP Joe isn’t running things)

  11. Reader Said:

Lowering taxes works only for the rich, especially for the VERY rich and pushes the country which does it into debt but everyone loves voting for low taxes because IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!

Lowering taxes creates jobs and ends in higher wages. Job creating is what it is all about,

For Israel, becoming further Americanized is dangerous.
A country which is always under threat needs to be more centralized.

  13. @ Bear Klein:
I see Bennett as the king maker. At a minimum he should demand to be Minister of Defense with unlimited power to do what he wants in area C. And of course the Justice Ministry should go to Shaked who has unfinished work there.

Will he be strong enough to demand that Bibi resign in exchange for a pardon and a posting as the next President of Israel

  14. Ted, also there could be a coalition based on this poll that could exclude Likud, UTJ, Shas and the Arabs.

    The Bibi opposition.

We will see what happens on election day and afterwords.

  15. Yamina has now hit a something that may bring them more votes they are campaigning on lowering taxes. Right wing and lower taxes, recognize outposts as legitimate settlements (regulating them) plus perhaps Bennett as Prime Minister. Sounds good to me.
