An Industry of Untruth

The brand of all cultural revolutions is untruth about the past and present in order to control the future. Why we have this happening to our country is the only mystery left.

By Victor Davis Hanson, AM GREATNESS • July 5, 2020

The current revolution is based on a series of lies, misrepresentations, and distortions, whose weight will soon sink it.

Viral confusion

Unfortunately few in authority have been more wrong, and yet more self-righteously wrong, than the esteemed Dr. Anthony Fauci. Given his long service as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and his stature during the AIDS crisis, he has rightly been held up by the media as the gold standard of coronavirus information. The media has constructed Fauci as a constant corrective of Trump’s supposed “lies” about the utility of travel bans, analogies with a bad flu year, and logical endorsement of hydroxychloroquine as a “what do you have to lose” possible therapy.

ANALYSIS: Who is behind the string of mysterious explosions in Iran??

Is Israel getting back at Iran for the botched cyber attack in which it tried to raise the chlorine level in Israel’s water system?

By Yochanan VIsser, INN 05/07/20

At the end of May Iran was hit by a cyber attack that experts, including Israeli ones, ascribed to the Jewish State.

The cyberattack on the Shahid Rajaee shipping terminal in the port city of Bandar Abbas, close to the strategic narrow waterway the Straits of Hormuz, disrupted the computerized handling of containers in the port and caused traffic jams and made unloading and loading ships impossible for a few days.

Israeli and foreign experts said that the 8200 unit and its subdivision Urim SIGINT Base of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was behind the attack which came in retaliation for a largely botched Iranian cyber attack on Israel’s water infrastructure.

A fire at Iran’s main nuclear fuel enrichment site caused significant damage, setting back the country’s nuclear program by months, the government acknowledged on Sunday, after initially saying the destruction was minor.

A Middle Eastern intelligence official with knowledge of the episode said Israel was responsible for the attack on the Natanz nuclear complex on Thursday, using a powerful bomb. A member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps who was briefed on the matter also said an explosive was used.

Ashkenazi: Annexation not on the agenda today or tomorrow

T. Belman. How about in a week.

By LAHAV HARKOV, JPOST JULY 6, 2020

Israel will not extend its sovereignty to parts of the West Bank in the coming days, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said on Monday.

“It’s not on the agenda for today or tomorrow,” Ashkenazi told Kan Bet.

Asked if sovereignty plans have been called off entirely, Ashkenazi said: “I don’t know, but I can say the Foreign Ministry is preparing diplomatic assessments and the Defense Ministry is preparing security assessments. It has deep ramifications.”

July 1 passed with no action, but US Envoy for International Negotiations Avi Berkowitz returned to Washington soon after for further discussions on the matter, after which Trump would weigh in. A US source told The Jerusalem Post that a decision would be announced this week.

The Jewish Philanthropist Still Gives Billions to Anti-Israel Causes

By ICBPS

ICBPS– “Iran’s regime has been working closely with the Open Society Foundation (OSF), founded by American billionaire George Soros, said Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at the addressing question-and-answer session in Iran’s parliament, reported by BBC Persian.

“Iran’s regime collaboration with the OSF predated my tenure, meaning it has been going on for at least five years,” Zarif stated. Zarif made the remarks in response to questions raised in the Iranian parliament. “The activity began before I entered my current position, I boasted that and succeeded in keeping the activity limited and organized,” Zarif continued.

According to NGO Monitor, among the top beneficiaries of OSF funding is Human Rights Watch, which has been criticized for targeting, and falsely libeling, the state of Israel. Another recipient of OSF funding is the Institute for Middle East Understanding, which, NGO-Monitor reports, is headed by staff who have accused Israel of war crimes and have termed Israel an “apartheid state.

Looking back on the 2020 election, historians will say the Mt. Rushmore speech was the moment that Donald Trump won reelection.

By Roger Kimball

Donald Trump did not mention Lincoln’s First Inaugural address in his speech commemorating the spirit of American Independence at Mount Rushmore on Friday night. But the president’s speech—perhaps his most forceful and eloquent to date—vibrated with the same energy and existential commitment that fired Lincoln in March 1861.

Lincoln came to office at a time of crisis. His election had precipitated the secession of seven Southern states. His inaugural address was both a plea for conciliation and unity as well as a warning that violence would be stopped with force. “We are not enemies, but friends,” Lincoln said.

Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

How “Wokeness” is Wrecking Journalism

By Victor Rosenthal

Yesterday I got into an argument on Facebook: does this article in the NY Times reporting on the speech Donald Trump made at Mt. Rushmore constitute good journalism?

I noted that the writer, Annie Karni, used pejorative language – she called the speech “dark and divisive,” said that it used “ominous language and imagery” and was aimed at a “straw-man version of the Left.” She chastised Trump repeatedly for making the wrong speech, not talking about the pandemic (and presumably his failure to deal with it), and instead “rail[ing] against what he described as a dangerous ‘cancel culture’ intent on toppling monuments…” The article also quoted several comments by individuals critical of Trump and none that were positive.

I argued that I wouldn’t object to the publication of such an article on the editorial pages, but that it did not belong in the news section. It should have been labeled “opinion,” not “news.” I did not wish to have a conversation about Trump (and I don’t now, either). I was only concerned with the new idea that the Times’ staff seems to have about the nature of journalism, and how it differs from the traditional conception.

Slavery Rampant in Africa, Middle East; The West Wrongly Accuses Itself

by Giulio Meotti, GATESTONE INSTITUTE  •  July 5, 2020

According to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who fled her homeland of Somalia and now live in the US: “What the media do not tell you is that America is the best place on the planet to be black, female, gay, trans or what have you. • For the intersectional activists, the US is the world’s biggest oppressor — not China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, or Iran.

Will Pres Trump bring King Abdullah to heel?

By Ted Belman

Last Spring, seven GOP legislators threatened Jordan with economic sanctions and the withholding of aid money if it doesn’t extradite the infamous terrorist, Al-Tamimi.

Al-Tamimi was involved in the terrorist bombing of the Sbarro Pizzeria in Jerusalem in 2001, which claimed the lives of 15 civilians, including two Americans.  Due to a prisoner swap deal between Hamas and Israel in October of 2011, Al-Tamimi was released to Jordan where she has been living ever since.

King Abdullah has refused to extradite her to the US despite her being placed on the FBI’s most wanted list and a criminal extradition treaty signed between USG and the Government of Jordan (GOJ) in 1995.

For years, if not decades,  Congress and succeeding administrations have looked very favourably on King Abdullah of Jordan.  Only a select group of American’s knew the truth, namely that Abdullah was not a friend.

Shocking K-12 Common Core Standards

By Joseph R. John, DR RICH SWIER June 22, 2014

If you have young children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, are an educator, are a therapist, are a religious leader, are an elected official of any party, or care about very young children getting an excellent education in grades K-12, you should take time to listen to the below videos by Dr. Duke Pesta.  Dr. Pesta’s discussion is about the indoctrination of students in the Common Core curriculum.  Common Core does not encourage students to read the greatest novels in history, it’s not about teaching students to think outside of the box, nor is it about teaching students to excel beyond the capability of their fellow students in their grade, and it is not about mentoring gifted students.

Common Core teaches students it is not fair for some students to highly achieve beyond the ability of their fellow students—it is about teaching students that everyone should achieve equally and collectively together, resulting in that students’ progress in learning at the lowest possible common denominator so no one is left behind.  Common Core is the plan by the federal government to take over the control of local school board’s education programs and what is taught in the local schools, it pushes an agenda controlled and tested by the Department of Health Education and Welfare and results in recording specific details on “each student’s” thinking, religious beliefs, patriotic beliefs, and family beliefs, in violation of privacy laws.

Liberal Jewish Leaders Accuse Jews of Racism, Cover Up Anti-Semitism

Jewish lives don’t matter to Jewish allies of Black Lives Matter.

By Daniel Greenfield, FPM

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

After Black Lives Matter – Los Angeles, a hate group which has partnered with the Nation of Islam and whose lead organizer praised Farrakhan, led a protest that resulted in mass attacks on Jewish schools, stores and synagogues, the leaders of 22 left-wing Jewish organizations signed letters condemning not the attacks, but the Jewish leader who spoke out against the antisemitism of the racist hate group. They made no reference to the BLM attacks on Jews.

The letters singled out Mort Klein, the President of the Zionist Organization of America, for describing Black Lives Matter as, among other things, “antisemitic,” “Israel hating”, and “extremist”. They did not offer a rebuttal to this accurate description because none is possible.

Instead, a letter signed by 16 members of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, accused Klein of hate and divisiveness. The letter’s signatories, including HIAS and Americans for Peace Now, included groups notorious for their hostility toward Israel.

Trump’s Syria Policy Is Working

by Jonathan Spyer, Foreign Policy

One of many billboards in Damascus celebrating the victory of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Arabic caption reads: “If the country’s dust spoke, it would say Bashar al-Assad.” (AFP)

Two years after celebrating victory in the Syrian civil war, the regime of Bashar Assad is facing renewed unrest. A mini-insurgency is under way in Daraa province, the birthplace of the 2011 revolt. Stormy demonstrations are under way in adjacent Suwayda. The economy is hurtling toward the abyss.

What has changed, in two short years? How has Assad’s triumph turned to disaster?

INTO THE FRAY: De-Americanizing America

By MARTIN SHERMAN

Inconceivably, ever greater circles of Americans seem swept up in a movement bent on jettisoning a paradigm that brought resounding success, while enthusiastically embracing one that wrought failure and deprivation wherever implemented.

Africa has the fastest-growing number of immigrants in the United States, according to …US Census Bureau data…The number of African migrants grew at a rate of almost 50% from 2010 to 2018. This is more than double the growth rate of migration to the US from Asia, South America or the Caribbean.—African migration to the United States is the fastest-rising, Quartz-Africa, Oct 14, 2019.

Nation-wide protests weeks after George Floyd’s murder turned into a movement to destroy a nation. Parading as an attack on racial injustice, the movement has turned into an obliteration of history…Whether they come for statues today or people tomorrow, the goal of any extremist movement is to rewrite the narrative by obliterating any other narrative. The goal of this current movement is no different. It isn’t just to level racial injustice; it’s to level America–Shireen Qudosi ,. The Movement to Destroy a Nation, June 24, 2020.

OXFORD – The fight back has begun. IF ONLY.

This letter is a response from Oxford to Black Students attending as Rhodes Scholars to remove the statue of Oxford Benefactor, Cecil Rhodes.

THE LETTER IS WHAT OXFORD SHOULD HAVE SAID, NOT WHAT IT DID SAY.

Interestingly, Chris Patten (Lord Patten of Barnes), The Chancellor of Oxford University, was on the Today Programme on BBC Radio 4 on precisely the same topic. The Daily Telegraph headline was “Oxford will not rewrite history”. Patten commented “Education is not indoctrination. Our history is not a blank page on which we can write our own version of what it should have been according to our contemporary views and prejudice” Rhodes must fall ????

“Dear Scrotty Students,

Cecil Rhodes’s generous bequest has contributed greatly to the comfort and wellbeing of many generations of Oxford students – a good many of them, dare we say it, better, brighter and more deserving than you.

This does not necessarily mean we approve of everything Rhodes did in his lifetime – but then we don’t have to. Cecil Rhodes died over a century ago. Autres temps, autres moeurs. If you don’t understand what this means – and it would not remotely surprise us if that were the case – then we really think you should ask yourself the question: “Why am I at Oxford?”

A Silent Strategy for the President Will Spur the Silent (and Sane) Majority

All the country needs is a couple of weeks without the president seeming to be the source of this cacophony for the national interest in sensible government to reassert itself.

By Conrad Black, AMGREATNESS

Possibly by accident, there are preliminary signs, green shoots, that the president is by experimentation moving toward the campaign strategy most appropriate for the summer. It is Donald Trump, even more than Joe Biden, who should be practically silent. Because the looming presidential nominee of the Democrats is completely unfeasible, inarticulate, and incoherent, the Democratic campaign consists essentially in round-the-clock mudslinging from the 90 percent of the national political media that hates Trump and will do anything, no matter how unprofessional, to remove him.

Notoriously, it is to this contemptible level that the principal American media have descended. The Trump campaign will continue to have his words and actions distorted, misrepresented and hurled back at him by serried ranks of bloodless assassins in the press. He should leave the refutation of them to his very able press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, who dispensed in short order this week the CNN White House reporter who asked last week if President Trump was pleased the North won the Civil War.

Myths and facts about sovereignty

T. Belman.  Israel will never be in a better position

Critics say attaining sovereignty will undermine the peace process and ruin Israel’s reputation abroad, but these myths do not hold up to scrutiny.

By DAVID M. WEINBERG, JPOST

According to critics, application of Israeli law to security and settlement zones in Judea and Samaria will ruin everything. It will undermine the “peace process” (as if there was one), and wreck Israel’s international reputation (as if everybody loved Israel nowadays).

These myths do not stand up to scrutiny.

• Myth 1: “Annexation” would be a violation of international law.

• Fact: “International law” is a malleable concept, and neither the government nor the Supreme Court of Israel ever have accepted the view that Jewish settlement over the Green Line is a violation of international law. Nor can Israel’s assertion of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria be considered “annexation” because the land never “belonged” to the Palestinians. The “Pompeo Declaration” and the “Trump Plan” explicitly accept the historical right of the Jewish People to settle in their biblical homeland (and consequently the US government already has recognized Israeli sovereignty over united Jerusalem and the Golan Heights).

Where have all the commie ba**ards gone, long time passing?

By Lynne Lechter, AMERICAN THINKER

In front of Mt. Rushmore and hitting every high note possible to counter the sickening cancel culture anarchists defiling our country, President Trump gave a rousing, heart wrenching battle speech.  And a battle it is — for the guts and soul of our great country.

In addition to swearing to combat and stop the violent anarchists — Marxists he factually called them — Trump exhorted the cowardly Republicans to stand up and speak out.  Speak out we all must do as well.  Moreover, he condemned the poisonous government school system that has taught our kids to hate our country, thereby erasing all the noble, good, and innovative advances in their memories that America has meant to the world and the incredibly fortunate residents who call America their home.

There have always been those who want to tear down America.  From the Brits, to the slave owners, to the communists to the present-day anarchists.  Yet, the essence of America has always prevailed.

Iraq’s Leadership Is Finally Setting Limits on Iranian Intervention

All of a sudden, Iran’s Quds Force chief needs a visa to enter Iraq, while PM Kadhimi is taking aim at Iran-leaning officials. Still, everyone knows real change only comes to those who wait

By Zvi Bar’el, HAARETZ

General Esmail Ghaani, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force, and successor to Qassem Soleimani, had a surprise at the beginning of June. He was required to obtain an official entry permit from the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enter the country along with a delegation he was leading. That would never have happened to Soleimani, who came and went as he saw fit, without approval or a visa and sometimes even without an invitation.

But when Mustafa al-Kadhimi took over as prime minister of Iraq in May, he ruled that every person entering Iraq, including VIPs, will need a visa. This was not the only signal that Iranian involvement in Iraq would be facing a new government willing to reconsider the boundaries of Iranian influence in the country. Shortly after al-Kadhimi was appointed, he began a campaign to weaken the clout of Iran’s supporters. He removed a long list of senior officers and officials from their posts, including national security adviser Falih al-Fayyadh, who had served for about a decade, and also heads the Shi’ite militias that Iran supports and funds – on top of the budget they receive from the Iraqi government.
