Pompeo: US will preserve Israel’s military edge in region
Responding to speculation that emerging peace deal with the UAE could lead to sale of F-35 aircraft to Gulf state, Pompeo notes administration has “legal obligation” to maintain status quo.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday the United States would continue to ensure that Israel enjoyed a military edge in the Middle East under any future US arms deals with the United Arab Emirates.
“The United States has a legal requirement with respect to qualitative military edge. We will continue to honor that,” Pompeo told reporters after a meeting in Jerusalem with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Why Trump Will Smash the Left & Win Says Horowitz
T. Belman. The interviewer kept asking Horowitz to define Communism. I had trouble with the answers given by Horowitz. He could have explained himself better. Basically the interviewer defines Communism as an economic system and Horowitz kept his focus on it being a totalitarian system where there are no freedoms. The interviewer tried to argue that everything the Democrats do is tactical and that’s OK. What ever gets them votes is legitimate. To be fair to Horowitz, he did deal with the policies of the Democrats in which they bankrupt the country with their new Green Deal, their pandemic and destruction of many cities.
The Challenge of Marxism
I. The collapse of institutional liberalism
For a generation after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, most Americans and Europeans regarded Marxism as an enemy that had been defeated once and for all. But they were wrong. A mere 30 years later, Marxism is back, and making an astonishingly successful bid to seize control of the most important American media companies, universities and schools, major corporations and philanthropic organizations, and even the courts, the government bureaucracy, and some churches. As American cities succumb to rioting, arson, and looting, it appears as though the liberal custodians of many of these institutions—from the New York Times to Princeton University—have despaired of regaining control of them, and are instead adopting a policy of accommodation. That is, they are attempting to appease their Marxist employees by giving in to some of their demands in the hope of not being swept away entirely.

The Candace Owens Show: Zuhdi Jasser
T. Belman. Jasser is very knowledgeable and very well spoken. He has dedicated his life to reforming Islam, so far with little success. I met him in Washington 12 years ago and have followed him to some degree since. His proposition is that Islam must be reformed from within by the moderate Muslims of whom he is one. I recommended at the time and still believe that what is needed is an organization like CAIR made up of reformers and funded by moderate MuslIms with help from the US government. The US government should cancel CAIR and look to Jasser’s movement to represent Muslims at all government functions. As we know, J=Street was started to steal the thunder of AIPAC and it has done just that. Bottom line is that we need an alternate CAIR and CAIR must be cancelled.

Why are leftists siding with Islamists
Idiot Jews support BLM as they did Communism 100 years ago
T. Belman. In choosing the title for this article, I ignored a major difference between the Jews of America to day and the Jews of the Pale of Settlement of 100 years ago.
100 years ago my fathers family lived in Poland and became ardent Communists. The situation of the Jews at the time, was, as it had been for hundreds of years, very bad. They were very poor and were greatly discriminated against. The siren call of Communism was so convincing that it was a lifeline they had been waiting for. It promised equality and unity and economic improvement.
Today, the Jews of America are rich and empowered and not discriminated against. They are driven by a distorted interpretation of Tikkun Olam.
What’s more they should know better. History has shown the false promise of Socialism/Communism and also the true nature of Islam.
It boggles my mind that they are embracing BLM.
By Melanie Phillips
Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of history, it is said, are doomed to repeat them.
In the 20th century, thousands of progressively minded people supported Soviet communism. Believing this ideology was the key to a better world, they refused to acknowledge the horrific abuses under Stalin when millions were brainwashed, murdered or starved to death.
Inside the Rise of Mohammed bin Salman
The Saudi crown prince ascended with a taste for opulence, a hunger for money and a drive for power
By Bradley Hope and Justin Scheck, WSJ
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at the Pentagon, 2018.
The models arrived first. Boats carrying some 150 women, from Brazil, Russia and elsewhere, docked in the summer of 2015 at Velaa Private Island, an opulent Maldives resort. Upon arrival, each woman was driven in a golf cart to a clinic, tested for sexually transmitted diseases and settled into a private villa.
The women were due to spend the better part of a month with their hosts, several dozen friends of Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for a party marking his ascent. A 29-year-old prince with a taste for opulence, a hunger for money and a need for power found himself with an abundance of all three.

Anti-Zionism isn’t Antisemitism – but it Doesn’t Matter
by Victor Rosenthal
There has rarely been a more pointless dispute than the one over whether anti-Zionism is antisemitism. The answer is easy, and it has two parts: a) no, they are not the same, and b) it doesn’t matter.
What is anti-Zionism? The denial of the proposition that the Jewish people ought to have a state in their historic homeland, Eretz Yisrael. Right away, there is a problem: there has been a Jewish state since 1948, and its right to be there is guaranteed by international law. So it doesn’t make sense to argue this point today.
But that isn’t what they mean, they say. They maintain that what they are doing is criticism of Israel. They argue that Israel violates the human rights of Palestinian Arabs (even accusing her of genocide and apartheid), and provide remedies which usually imply the replacement of the state of the Jewish people by a state of its citizens, a “dezionized” entity of some kind, or simply an Arab state. But there’s no Jew-hatred involved, they insist.

The PA is the one building in Judea and Samaria
What is happening on the ground in Area C is nothing less than a scandal, and it’s happening on PM Netanyahu’s watch.
By Nadav Shragai, ISRAEL HAYOM 08-21-2020 12:16
While the normalization deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates is real cause for joy, and the historic missed opportunity to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria is a serious disappointment, what is taking place on the ground on Netanyahu’s watch when it comes to promoting and preserving the settlements, is mostly a source of deep sadness. In truth, it’s nothing less than a scandal.
In the past few years, the Palestinians have been spreading out in Area C, which is officially under Israeli defense and security as well as civil control. They are on the offensive and are working in an orderly and consistent, not to mention well-funded, manner. Hundreds of thousands of dunams of state land or land that is currently in the process of being registered have been grabbed and turned into farmland. The Palestinians are also building tens of thousands of homes at the most strategic points, which will ultimately decide the battle for Area C. In the past decade, the number of illegally-built Palestinian structures has risen from about 30,000 to 50,000.

Thirteen of 15-member UN Security Council Oppose U.S. Push for Iran Sanctions
Pompeo triggers 30-day countdown to return UN sanctions on Iran, but Security Council members say move is void as Trump pulled out of Iran nuclear deal in 2018

The United States was further isolated on Friday over its bid to reimpose international sanctions on Iran with 13 countries on the 15-member UN Security Council expressing their opposition, arguing that Washington’s move is void given it is using a process agreed under a nuclear deal that it quit two years ago.
In the 24 hours since U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he triggered a 30-day countdown to a return of UN sanctions on Iran, including an arms embargo, long-time allies Britain, France, Germany and Belgium as well as China, Russia, Vietnam, Niger, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, South Africa, Indonesia, Estonia and Tunisia have already written letters in opposition, seen by Reuters.

Israel only agreed to suspend the extension of sovereignty, not cancel it
By Ted Belman
On Friday, YNET published an Op-ed by UAE Ambassador to the U.S. Yousef Al Otaiba, in which he wrote,
“Perhaps the most immediate and significant outcome of today’s announcement is Israel’s decision to accept a negotiated outcome, reject unilateral action and suspend its annexation plans for Palestinian territory.
“This creates time and space, fresh dynamics and energy, for the peace process. It maintains the viability of a two-state solution as endorsed by the Arab League and international community. It bolsters Jordan’s stability and reaffirms its importance in future initiatives.

Expert Warns That Refusing COVID Vaccine Could End in Jail Time

In the pantheon of Supreme Court cases, Jacobson v. Massachusetts doesn’t exactly get a whole lot of play.
It’s certainly not one of the precedent-setting rulings your average high school American history student can name — Roe v. Wade, Plessy v. Ferguson, Brown v. Board of Education, Obergefell v. Hodges.
It doesn’t even make the second- or third-tier of cases that you might potentially be aware of, judgments such as Loving v. Virginia, Korematsu v. United States, Mapp v. Ohio, Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, that sort of thing.

Jordan worries Israel-UAE deal will scuttle two-state solution
T. Belman. This is the money-quote “With more Arab countries expected to follow the UAE’s example before the November US elections, Jordan’s longstanding political approach to resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will become a minority position. But there are no signs that Amman is changing course.” Nor is there any sign that Abbas is changing course.
I have no doubt that extending sovereignty has only been delayed until after Nov 3/20. Peace Treaty when signed will not bind Israel to forego her rights. And when she finally extends sovereignty, all Arab countries who have peace treaties with Israel will not abort them..
Jordan has always been a staunch supporter of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, but that might not mean much anymore after Israel and the UAE agreed to normalize ties under a historic US-brokered deal.

Jordan’s defense of the two-state solution as the only path for peace between Arab states and Israel has always been an uphill struggle that grew harder when Donald Trump moved into the White House. But the recent normalization agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel has made this objective more difficult to attain than ever. The UAE has claimed that the deal, announced by Trump on Aug. 14, has buried Israel’s plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was quick to announce that annexation was still “on the table.”
