The Institute for the Study of War, a nonpartisan group based in the United States, has issued its report on Israel’s achievements in its 12-day war with Iran. Dozens of nuclear facilities were damaged by Israel, while three of them — Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow — were also attacked by the Americans, with the first two “destroyed,”and the last “severely damaged” (or, according to the administration, “totally obliterated”) on June 22. More on what the IDF accomplished in its brief war with Iran can be found here: “Israel ‘Achieved Its Objectives’ in Iran Operation, Says Leading War Studies Think Tank,” by Jack Elbaum, Algemeiner, June 26, 2025:

Trump-Netanyahu confab to celebrate military ops against Iran, focus on reshaping Middle East

Peloni:  Highly recommended article.  Alex Traiman provides a broad overview of the potential purposes of the coming White House visit by Netanyahu, while providing a broad 30K foot overview of where things stand in the region and how Trump and Netanyahu have been working towards an unltimate vision of remaking the Middle East into a more peaceful region which might also become more independent of the political swings emanating inside the shifting fortunes of American politics.

The spies among us: processing the incomprehensible

Peloni:  Crimes must be treated as criminal with penalties equivalent to the crime.  Awarding less than an equivalent penalty on such a serious and far reaching crime as treason, only serves to encourage it all the more.  Notably, there is no greater crime than to raise treason against ones own country, as it is an assault on every man, woman and child in the nation with a single act of treason, and in this time of war in Israel, the cost of such actions as would give aid and comfort to the Iranians should merit nothing less than the most severe penalties possible.

A spate of cases of has Israelis shaking their heads with disbelief and disgust. What should we do?’

Since October 7th we have seen Israel at its best: thousands upon thousands of heroic soldiers engaged in breathtaking, unprecedented military heroism and success, supported by a resolute, resilient and in its way no less heroic homefront.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some day, they put the Simpsons in the Smithsonian. It’s become part of our culture, those characters.  Joe Mantegna

President Donald Trump has expressed criticism towards Smithsonian exhibits, particularly in the context of what he and his administration perceive as promoting “improper, divisive or anti-American ideology”.

Why Israel should not trust Syria’s new leadership, or the peace being promised

Peloni:  And again, Avi hits the perfect tone.  Jihadi’s have no role in peace, and we should not stabilize the tyranny which they hold over their minorities, which is the same tyranny which they hope to one day hold over the entire Western World after destroying Israel.

Every time Israel has traded land for peace with enemies still committed to our destruction, we have paid in blood.

Now that the direct war with Iran is on pause, headlines are flooding the Israeli and international media with news that should sound like a dream: Israel and Syria in direct talks, a potential peace deal on the horizon, normalization, even rumors that Syria could join the Abraham Accords.

Independence Day, 4 July 2025: Refreshing the commitment to Liberty

Liberty is a big discipline, one we need to ponder and re-commit to regularly.

J.E. Dyer, a retired Naval Intelligence officer, blogs as The Optimistic ConservativeJuly 4, 2025

It’s OK to declare independence from the schemes of men to keep us in subjection.

That is the statement that comes to me as we celebrate America’s Independence Day on 4 July 2025.  We are 249 years on from the original declaration, published on this day in 1776.  (Technically, the first publication was on 2 July 1776.  But since becoming a nation, we have celebrated the latter day, 4 July, as our national day, and cheered in particular for the nation’s continued adherence through its iterations of statehood and Union to the original Declaration of Independence.)

Senator Schumer enters the annals of Shame

Peloni:  This article was written 15 months ago, but it is as relevant today as the day Victor wrote it.  Shame on Schumer!

By Victor Sharpe | March 15, 2024

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) delivers remarks at the signing of H.R. 5376, the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022”, Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in the State Dining Room of the White House. (Photo by The White House – P20220816ES-0198, Public Domain, Wikipedia)

Senator Chuck Schumer, who slavishly supports and defends the blighted Democrat Party, the Party riddled with anti-Semites, called today for the removal of Israel’s embattled Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, and replace him with a leftist leader who will bow to the abhorrent will of those who have no true love for the Land of Israel or especially for its ancestral and God given heartland of Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

Find Israel on a world globe without a magnifying glass, I dare you.

Like some other authors, I’ve also written about what comes next, even though it seems like trying to reinvent the wheel over and over again. Regardless, since the same old double standards keep being applied to Israel, the same old answers (and a few others) have to be repeated over and again as well.

Pedophilia and Politics

In an important recap of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) revelations, journalist Margaret Flavin reports on an audit of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as discussed in a recent interview with Vice President JD Vance. Flavin’s article, “Vice President Vance Underscores Reports of Massive Waste and Corruption in Foreign Aid (Video),” posted on Gateway Pundit, June 29, 2025. The results of the audit reveal that only 12% of the money allocated to USAID for aid arrives at its destination! How is this possible?

This is what Success Looks Like!

If you are watching it go down slackjawed, observing the passing scene, knowing that the world has gone bonkers, batsh-t crazy if you will, you are correct.

If you’ve been reading these pages, you already know that what’s up is down, and what’s in is out. You’ll understand that it is not a dystopian world as the left would portray it in their moment of losing it all. It is rather, a painful labor, the rebirth of a golden age and a golden nation descending upon us. The left’s acknowledgement of these facts, having been marinated in their media and propaganda, is immaterial.

Ben Gvir & Smotrich threaten gov’t, opposition offers safety net as Israel advances toward another Gaza ceasefire

Peloni:  This is a very worrisome report.  Netanyahu has recently stated that Hamas will surrender or be destroyed, but this and other reports suggest a far less resolved commitment towards achieving complete all the war aims, even suggesting that Netanyahu would move towards his Leftist opposition while jettisoning Ben Gvir and Smotrich.

With reports of negotiations advancing toward a ceasefire and a final end to the Gaza War, the Israeli government is once again in turmoil as its right flank has declared its opposition to the reported terms of the potential agreement.

Are You Upset With Trump?

By Walter E. Block and Oded J.K. Faran

Taped to a pole at Harvard University, “Resist F-Elon Trump at Harvard University”.  (By Chad Davis from Minneapolis, United States – Resist F-Elon Trump at Harvard University, CC BY 2.0, Wikipedia)

There are a lot of people now upset with President Donald Trump. They are rioting in the streets in Los Angeles over ICE enforcement actions. Some 12,000 graduates of Harvard have now signed on to an amicus brief defending their school against what they perceive as the devastations of that monster, Trump. Russia and Ukraine remain locked in conflict despite his promise to end that conflagration in a day or so.  Ditto for the Middle East; still no peace there either.

Syria’s Sharaa makes moves toward Abraham Accords to reduce Turkish influence

Peloni:  Securing radicals in suits such as Shaara in positions of dominance to secure peace deals begs the question as to whether the threat from having a unconfirmed, supposedly reformed, Jihadist on Israel’s northern flank is worth the potential of his turn from the dark side being sincere.  Notably as he used Turkey to gain control of Syria, is he just using the Americans to consolidate power in Syria?  Changing ideologies and political backers seems to be as nuanced to him as his change of name from Jolani to Shaara.  Hence, the question remains, whether Jolani-turned-Shaara will find his true North to be Jihadism or moderation when he finds he no longer needs to play the chameleon to suit his political needs.  Tomorrow’s misfortune is being planted in today’s political soil.  Moderates, not an Oslo-like wannabe, is the character of men which should be chosen to lead the region to a more passive future.  Planting radicals inside the wire of the Abraham Accords will only serve to undermine the safety and security of the coming generation, as took place under the Oslo framework.  Terrorists such as Jolani do not deserve our trust, and his actions since coming to power have certainly not lent themselves to suggesting otherwise.  The innocent will fill the butcher’s bill of making an Oslo like mistake out of an interest of political convenience today.

The Hamas Addiction

Seth Frantzman

When we hear claims of the IDF controlling “65%” of Gaza it seems like a lot? Until you realize it’s mostly open areas and suburbs that were already captured and cleared a year ago. Most urban areas are controlled by Hamas, including the central camps and Gaza city; and they have mostly been controlled by Hamas for 21 months of war, 636 days.
