Macron will unveil peace plan if Trump doesn’t, senior Israeli official says

T. Belman. Not to worry. GOP won’t lose the House and Trump will crush the pipsqueak.

A top Israeli official revealed that Jerusalem believes Macron will release his plan for an Israeli-Palestinian agreement if Trump does not produce his long-awaited deal-of-the-century plan within a few weeks.

By The Algemeiner

An Israeli Foreign Ministry official told a Knesset committee earlier this week that if U.S. President Donald Trump did not present an Israeli-Palestinian peace plan within a few weeks after the upcoming Nov. 6 midterm elections, French President Emmanuel Macron would likely unveil a diplomatic initiative of his ownChannel 10reported on Tuesday.

Alon Ushpiz, the Foreign Ministry’s director of diplomacy, also revealed that Israel was not aware of the details of Trump’s long-awaited proposal.

The American liberalism that failed

Our brothers, the liberal Jews in the United States, are in the eye of the storm and take a most visible position in the campaign against President Trump and the conservatives.

By Oded Tira, JPOST

American Jews

Our brothers, the liberal Jews in the United States, are among those who want to revive the socialist revolution. Many of them are hardcore about globalism.

As a result, they worked tirelessly to eliminate the candidacy of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. This is in contrast with the conservative positions of the American Right, a supporter of capitalism, patriotism and the right of every state to govern itself.

US Reform Movement to bolster Israel education

T. Belman. To my mind, American liberal Jews should be taught what makes the right in Israel tick. They don’t have to agree with us but must understand that liberalism doesn’t work in the ME. They must understand that a strong national identity is our most important defense asset. The more American Jews embrace their Jewish identity the closer will our communities become.

Secondly they must learn that Trump is their friend not their enemy. In so many ways his policies are good for them, (e.g.,lower taxes, higher stock market, more law and order, less antisemitism to name a few), yet they are at the forefront of attempts to destroy him. They must learn to support Trump because he is the biggest defender Israel has ever had

The initiative comes at a time when the Reform movement, along with the Conservative movement, has deep disagreements with the current Israeli government over state recognition for the progressive Jewish denominations, Jewish conversion, and prayer rights at the Western Wall.

The Reform movement in the US will be ramping up education about, and engagement with, Israel, as well as increasing its support for Reform communities in the country, as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the identification of Reform Jews in North America with the Jewish state.

The elusive Moderate Muslims

Moderate Muslims belong to four main categories: the non-practicing, the textual cherry-pickers, the impostors, and the brave.

By Raphael Castro, INN

The response of moderate Muslims in the face of atrocities committed in the name of Islam has been underwhelming. Whereas hundreds of thousands of Muslims readily rally against American or Israeli actions, demonstrations to protest jihadism have drawn far smaller crowds in European and American cities.

This apathy has given rise to voices accusing Muslims of sympathy towards jihadism. This is untrue. A strong majority of Muslims revile the goals and methods of Islamic extremists around the world. Since the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and law-abiding, the dissonance between individual peacefulness and collective lack of mobilization against jihadism needs to be explained. Light must therefore be shed on the attitudes and outlook of moderate Muslims.

Human Rights Watch: “Palestine” authorities use torture to crush dissent.

Arbitrary Arrests, Torture Systematic

HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH

(Ramallah) – The Fatah-led Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas authorities in Gaza routinely arrest and torture peaceful critics and opponents, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. As the Palestinian Authority-Hamas feud has deepened, each has targeted the other’s supporters.

Khashoggimania and our Islamist colluding media

After Egypt, Libya and Syria, will we stop falling for the same lies?

By Daniel Greenfield, FPM

In 2014, Jason Rezaian, the Washington Post’s Tehran Bureau Chief, was arrested and spent two years in prison. Iran kept him in one of its worst prisons, he slept on a damp concrete floor, was denied medical treatment, experienced hallucinations due to sleep deprivation and was abused by his captors. His wife was told that her legs would be cut off and her husband would be thrown off a cliff if she didn’t confess.

While Jamal Khashoggi has often been misidentified as a Washington Post journalist, all he did for the radical leftist paper owned by Amazon’s CEO is write editorials promoting the Muslim Brotherhood agenda. The Muslim Brotherhood leader and former Bin Laden pal was never a journalist. The closest he came to it was acting as a terrorist propagandist in Afghanistan, glamorizing Osama bin Laden, on behalf of a man listed by the Treasury Department as one of “the world’s foremost terrorist financiers.”

Mass Migration planned by Globalists

By Hugo Schmidt-Fischer

You may want to study the treatise “Replacement Migration: Is it a Solution to Declining and Ageing Populations?” It is only meant as a rhetoric question, the answer according to the UN is a resounding yes, and the migratory streams, everything you are witnessing today it is all detailed in that little piece of work.

This was written in 1999, and issued around 2000 courtesy of the office of Mr. Joseph Chamie, Director, Population Division, United Nations, New York 10017, USA.

Truth is, the forerunners of the EU were already working hard on generating mass migrations starting with the late 1970s oil shock. The former EC (European Community) thereupon constituted the Euro-Arab Dialogue. It later culminated in the Barcelona Declaration of 1995 and the subsequent creation of the Union for the Mediterranean which cemented the earlier 1980s agreements to allow Arab mass migration into Europe.

JISS conference on “Iran and Israel – The Confrontation.”

Ted Belman. I attended this 4.5 hour conference and found all the talks very informative and interesting.

Watch this fascinating 40-minute interview (in Hebrew) with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman from Sunday’s JISS conference on “Iran and Israel – The Confrontation.”  (I have asked for an English version.)

He discusses Israel’s confrontation with Iran in Syria (“Israel will not allow IRGC bases on its northern border”), the need to hit Hamas in Gaza hard (“I do not believe in a ceasefire with Hamas”), the defense budget (“the IDF needs another NIS 5 billion a year”), the selection of the next IDF chief-of-staff (“I have made my choice; the candidate with the personality to best lead Israel in war”), and new legislation to regulate Ultra-Orthodox draft exemptions (“the bill currently before Knesset is the best compromise for all sectors of Israeli society”). He also relates extensively to the controversy over removing the Bedouin encampment Khan Al-Ahmar (“the cabinet’s decision to evacuate the shantytown is final, although a short delay for negotiation is reasonable”).

Chutzpah Al-Hashimiyun…Hashemite Chutzpah

T. Belman. My buddy Jerry Honigman references my article The Jordan Option published by me and American Thinker last Dec. Be sure to read it.

by Gerald A. Honigman

Herb Keinon reported in the October 21, 2018 Jerusalem Post on King Abdullah II of Jordan’s decision to downgrade its peace treaty with Israel.

More specifically, this decision involves Jordan wanting to…“opt out of annexes from its 1994 peace treaty with Israel that leased two border areas that historically were difficult to delineate…the king’s decision followed a request from government activists not to renew the agreement and to revoke Israeli ownership from Jordanian land.” Israel had been using the areas for agricultural purposes. The report further explained that…

“Abdullah is in a vice. While he needs the peace treaty with Israel for the security of his regime, he has domestic Islamic elements to deal with and at times placate. He is also dealing with Syrian crisis, which has not only inundated his country with refugees, but also put Iran perilously close. The language Abdullah used in announcing the move–Jordanian land, Jordanian interests–is a bone thrown to the Islamists.”

Trump said to question Netanyahu commitment to peace, threaten to get ‘tough’

US President Donald Trump has said he is willing to “be tough” on Israel in peace negotiations, mirroring the administration’s combative stance toward the Palestinian Authority,  according to an Israeli report Monday.

Such a move would mark a significant shift in the US approach to peace talks so far, which has seen a number of concessions to Israel and punitive measures against Ramallah, stoking Palestinian anger and a boycott of efforts to jump start peace talks.

The upcoming invasion must be stopped

By Ted Belman

Honduran migrants take part in a caravan heading to the US on the road linking Ciudad Hidalgo and Tapachula, Chiapas state, Mexico on October 21, 2018.

In response to this query by Prof Paul Eidelberg,

I would deeply appreciate your thoughts about the invasion of migrants into the USA?
What can be done to diminish this enormous NATION-DESTROYING problem?

I replied:

My first thought was that the upcoming invasion bore many similarities to the attempted invasion of Israel by Gazans. Israel responded with a policy of zero tolerance.

Why the ‘Jordanian Option’ Won’t Die

A confederation of the West Bank and Jordan is once again under discussion. Is it such a bad idea?

By Shmuel Rosner, NYT

TEL AVIV — In January 1968, only a few months after Israel conquered the territory on the West Bank of the Jordan River, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol received a memo. The reasonable way to deal with the newly occupied territory, wrote the memo’s author, a professor named Benjamin Akzin, was to join it to Jordan, the country from which it was taken during the 1967 war.

Akzin’s memo, which is recounted in a new book by the historian Yoav Gelber, was one of the first articulations of what is known as “the Jordanian option.” It’s still alive today.

Peace Agreement Cancellation with Israel is A Desperate Move by The King

Cancellation Move Diverts Attention Away from Protests Against His Regime
AP Story is incomplete and amounts to “Fake News”

(Amman) – In reaction to the King of Jordan’s announcement regarding the cancellation of annexation agreement between Jordan and Israel, the Jordanian Opposition Coalition (JOC) announced its commitment to peace with Israel, and continued support for the agreement and called the King a Liar.

“The JOC will uphold the agreement after it achieves its goal of regime change,” Dr. Mudar Zahran, Secretary General of the JOC said. “We hold sovereignty near and dear and appreciate the parts of the agreement that enforce Jordan’s sovereignty over the areas leased to Israel”.

FOX News reported that a Boeing 747 civilian airplane of the Iranian carrier Fars Air Qeshm made an unusual stop in Beirut after flying to Damascus International Airport as flight QFZ9950.

Everyone is smart except Trump

By Dov Fischer, SPECTATOR

It really is quite simple. Everyone is smart except Donald J. Trump. That’s why they all are billionaires and all got elected President. Only Trump does not know what he is doing. Only Trump does not know how to negotiate with Vladimir Putin. Anderson Cooper knows how to stand up to Putin. The whole crowd at MSNBC does. All the journalists do.

They could not stand up to Matt Lauer at NBC. They could not stand up to Charlie Rose at CBS. They could not stand up to Mark Halperin at NBC. Nor up to Leon Wieseltier at the New Republic, nor Jann Wenner at Rolling Stone, nor Michael Oreskes at NPR, at the New York Times, or at the Associated Press. But — oh, wow! — can they ever stand up to Putin! Only Trump is incapable of negotiating with the Russian tyrant.

Abdullah reorienting his policy on détente with Turkey, Syria, Qatar

T. Belman. This is why Abdullah has to be replaced.

DEBKA

Jordan’s King Abdullah notified Israel on Sunday, Oct. 21, that he will not renew two annexes of the peace treaty which his father King Hussein signed with Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1994.  They granted Israel ownership rights for 25 years under Jordanian sovereignty in the Naharayim/Baqura and the Zofar/Al Ghamr areas of the Arava region of southern Israel, which Israeli farmers have been working.

While the announcement came two days after a big anti-Israeli demonstration in Amman, DEBKAfile’s sources disclose that it is part of a calculated move by the Jordanian monarch to bring his kingdom into alignment with Turkey, Syria and Qatar. In recent days, his prime minister, Dr. Omar al-Razzaz,  has been holding intensive talks with Turkish ministers in an effort to persuade Ankara to stop routing its export goods to the Gulf via Haifa port and send them instead through Syria and Jordan. To this end, Jordan earlier this month reopened its Nassib border crossing with Syria, against strong objections from Washington and Jerusalem. The king is in the process of mending his ties with Syria’s Bashar Assad and looks forward to an early visit to Amman by an impressive Syrian official delegation headed by Foreign Minister Walid Moallem.

When Will Ivanka Trump Wake Up?

By Judi McLeod, CFP

When Will Ivanka Trump Wake Up?

It’s late in the day and a loud and ugly mob mentality is utterly dominating midterm elections.

The Protest that was the legacy of ex-President Barack Obama is no longer out in the town park or on the street, it has moved into the restaurants where average people stop for a bite to eat, the gas station where they go to fill up and in other once safe and public spaces.

A phrase that has become a mark of our time: “It’s getting crazier and more dangerous out there by day!”
