Donald Trump reportedly blames his son-in-law, White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, for his role in the decision to appoint special counsel Robert Mueller, according to Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman.

On a phone call Tuesday with Breitbart News Executive Chairman and former White House Chief Strategist Stephen K. Bannon, “Trump blamed Jared Kushner for his role in decisions, specifically the firings of [former National Security Adviser] Mike Flynn and [former FBI Director] James Comey, that led to Mueller’s appointment,” according to a source who was briefed on the call.

On Monday, Mueller indicted Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort on 12 counts — ranging from making false statements to “conspiracy against the United States” — as part of the ongoing, so-called “Russia Investigation.” Richard Gates, Manafort’s deputy, was also charged.

An enzyme found only in metastatic cancer cells and normal sperm cells forms basis for promising treatment approach developed by Israeli researchers.

An enzyme normally found only in sperm cells is the same one that enables cancer cells to metastasize throughout the body, according to an Israeli researcher who has devised a synthetic compound to disable the enzyme.

When they metastasize (leave the primary tumor and spread to other organs), cancer cells must improvise to survive and flourish under harsh conditions such as a shortage of basic nutrients like glucose. One way they do this is by reprogramming their energy-generation system, said Prof. Uri Nir of Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan.

Five-hundred years ago yesterday, on October 31, 1517, a Catholic monk named Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of a German church, thereby launching what would come to be known as the Protestant Reformation.  Whatever else can be said of him, Luther unwittingly initiated something else that is often overlooked.  “The Reformation produced one logical if unexpected result,” explains European historian Franco Cardini: “a definite boost to the positive evaluation of Islam, and therefore to the birth and development of an often conventional and mannered pro-Islamic stance” in the West.

• On July 24, 1922, the British pledge to help build the Jewish National Home was explicitly incorporated into the text of the League of Nations Mandate, which called for “putting into effect” its terms. The Balfour Declaration thus was transformed into a binding obligation under international law. Moreover, it was approved unanimously by the Council of the League of Nations, made up of 51 member states.
• The Balfour Declaration is important because it recognizes the historical bond of the Jewish People to the Holy Land, a bond which existed long before the declaration. What was significant was its public and formal recognition and its incorporation into international law.

On November 2, 1917, exactly 100 years ago, British foreign secretary Lord Arthur Balfour sent a private letter to Lord Walter Rothschild, the second Baron Rothschild.  The letter was written not by Balfour, but by other ministers in Lloyd George’s Cabinet – Lord Alfred Milner and Leopold Amery.  In history, this letter became known as the Balfour Declaration.

Both Balfour and Milner were true Britons.  Rothschild was proud of being a Jew.  Amery was a Jew who carefully concealed his Jewish origins.  What united this quartet?

All of them were, of course, to some degree, Zionists, but only to the extent that such was in the interests of the British Empire.  Otherwise, the Declaration would never have happened.

The main thing is that they were all members of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom.

The former Czechoslovakia split up. The former Yugoslavia broke up into many new É States. New balkanization requests are made again in the new E states. Is it better today? Ukraine is today divided even if it is not acted on by other countries. Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium are subject to “desires for independence”. What to think?

First, let us note that the process of self-determination of peoples was first conceived in cases of colonialism or refusal to apply the universal principles of the dominant. Today, these are richer regions that no longer want to “pay for the poorest”, such as Catalonia, Northern Italy and Flanders, for example. Should we accept this without debating it? Or regions run by a corrupt political class who wish to no longer be controlled by a central power just as corrupt? Or a clash between two nationalisms? Should we accept this as an exoticism symp athique? How not to notice that the independence of all stripes are trying to tell the European Union that they will be more docile than their Ecurrent nation-states! The directions of the regions that demand independence are those that are neo- liberal XXL!Read more…

How exciting to discover that President Macron of France has lost patience with political correctness! France has been constantly under a “state of emergency” after repeated terror attacks by Islamic Fundamentalists. The previous President Holland called the Islamic fundamentalist attacks “An act of war” and imposed a “State of Emergency.” The laws under that edict were renewed time and time again… but the war is still waging and the temporary measures were not sufficient.

It is a given that the UN is a cesspool of anti-Israel sentiment, an institution that has betrayed the vision of its founders. But even accepting this, every now and then the UN takes action that requires particular notice:

The United Nations Development Assistance Framework and the Palestinian Authority have signed a “strategic programming framework” for 2018-2022. It projects a budget of close to $1.3 billion to support the PA with a wide variety of political and social service programs (all described in a 73 page document).

Sixteen UN agencies (including UNRWA and UNESCO have signed on to this document. They are committed to holding Israel accountable for alleged violations in international law and to documenting purported abuses.

On November 2, 2017, it will be 100 years since Lord Arthur Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary, issued the famous Balfour Declaration. Balfour was a Christian Zionist and looked with great sympathy upon Jewish aspirations and Zionism, which simply put is the Jewish people’s national liberation movement. Put in Biblical terms, it is the return from exile of the Jews to Zion – to that very special land promised by God to the first Jew, Abraham, and through his descendants, Isaac and Jacob, to the Jewish people forever.

The Hebrew Scriptures equate Zion with the holiest city in Judaism, Israel’s capital of Jerusalem. You can read numerous references in the Bible and the Psalms to the word Zion, such as in Psalm 135:21, II Samuel 5:7 and Isaiah 24:23. The Biblical yearning of the Jews to return to their ancestral homeland is mirrored in the modern political usage of the term Zionism, first employed in 1890 by the Jewish author and poet, Nathan Birnbaum.

The United Nations has made a deal with the Palestinians to fund a 65 million dollar legal pogrom directed at Israel. The party on the Palestinian side was referred to as the “Government of the State of Palestine.”

More specifically, the “United Nations System in the occupied Palestinian territory” plans to pay eight UN bodies $64,838,510 between the years of 2018 and 2022 to hunt down individual Israelis and smear Israel as a criminal state.

The IDF was wrong to apologize for killing terrorists, Education Minister Naftali Bennett said on Tuesday morning, drawing sharp criticism from Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman.

“We must not apologize for our success in eliminating terrorists,” Bennett, a member of the security cabinet, tweeted.

“I will clarify: These are terrorists who were digging a tunnel of death – in Israeli territory – which was meant to kill Israeli women and children.”
