T. Belman. I disagree with the Campaign Against Antisemitism who called the remarks “deplorable”. Everything Farage said here is true but there is nothing wrong in acknowledging that we punch above our weight. But he was wrong to respond to the caller who thought “the pro-Israel lobby in the United States was as dangerous as alleged Russian interference” by saying that was a reasonable point. Its not dangerous at all. In fact there is no comparison. The Israel Lobby, such as it is, consists of Americans whereas Russian interference is foreign. But the truth of the matter is that the Israel Lobby is not near as strong as it is alleged to be, not that it matters. The Saudi Lobby is far more powerful, and richer and foreign. It is financed by the Saudis who are far richer than the Jews. Israel does not finance the Israel Lobby. The problem is that antisemites have smeared the Israel Lobby. An American lobby is entitled to be as effective as it can be within the law. Everyone ignores the Saudi Lobby.

T. Belman. Israel should be building in Area C and the Arabs should be prevented from building there. I am dissappointed in Frisch because he feels we have to justify building there by saying we do it to punish the Arabs. Israeli settlement in Judea and Samaria must be renewed as a means of imposing costs on the Palestinian Authority for trying to delegitimize Israel, and in response to strategically-placed Palestinian settlement expansion. Israel’s present conflict management approach, which has succeeded in reducing Palestinian terrorism to manageable proportions, is an insufficient response to the dangers of Palestinian territorial expansionism.

For the first time in the one-hundred year old conflict, the Palestinians are beating Israel in the domain it excelled best had had always shown its ingenuity – strategic building and expansion of settlements. This is no longer true. This article makes the case for renewed Israeli settlement in Jerusalem and in strategic areas in Judea and Samaria as the most effective means of imposing costs on the Palestinian Authority for trying to delegitimize Israel, inciting to violence, honoring terrorists and supporting their families. Most of all, renewed Israeli settlement is necessary as a response to strategically-placed Palestinian settlement expansion whose aim is to create political facts on the ground in the Palestinians’ favor rather than entering into negotiations with Israel.

The IDF and Israeli intelligence certainly knew a terrorist tunnel was being dug in the Gaza Strip near Khan Younes some weeks ago. But they waited until it crossed over and had snaked almost a kilometer inside Israel up to a point near Kissufim before blowing it up on Monday, Oct. 30. The IDF must also have known that Jihad Islami, which Iran established as its Palestinian arm, was building it, rather than Hamas.

Do not be fooled by the “Conspiracy against the United States” heading. The Paul Manafort indictment is much ado about nothing . . . except as a vehicle to squeeze Manafort, which is special counsel Robert Mueller’s objective — as we have been arguing for three months (see here, here, and here). Do not be fooled by the “Conspiracy against the United States” heading on Count One (page 23 of the indictment).

This case has nothing to do with what Democrats and the media call “the attack on our democracy” (i.e., the Kremlin’s meddling in the 2016 election, supposedly in “collusion” with the Trump campaign). Essentially, Manafort and his associate, Richard W. Gates, are charged with (a) conspiring to conceal from the U.S. government about $75 million they made as unregistered foreign agents for Ukraine, years before the 2016 election (mainly, from 2006 through 2014), and (b) a money-laundering conspiracy. There are twelve counts in all, but those are the two major allegations.

NIS 3 billion government plan aims to treat Beduin as citizens with equal rights and to better the status of Negev Beduin townships after years of neglect by the state, Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.

But Beduin rights activists say its implementation would displace a large number of Beduin from their ancestral lands, in violation of international law.

The five-year plan, known as Homesh, is intended by the government to be a major step toward relocating more than 60,000 Beduin from some 40 unrecognized villages and what the state says are 1,690 “accumulations” of habitations that it considers illegal to nine townships.

Attack on terror tunnel stretching into Israeli territory kills eight Palestinians; Jerusalem hails new detection technology.

The IDF on Monday blew up a Hamas attack tunnel still under construction that had entered Israeli territory.

The “controlled explosion,” as the IDF called it, destroyed the tunnel, which began in Khan Yunis in Gaza and continued into Israel, ending only 2 kilometers from the border community of Kissufim.

Palestinian sources said nine terrorists were killed in the tunnel, including a senior commander of al-Quds Brigades, Islamic Jihad’s military arm. They reportedly weren’t inside the tunnel during the explosion, but were on the Palestinian side of the tunnel and were killed when they came to rescue others who were trapped.

Taqiyya, which describes the circumstances under which a Muslim can conceal their belief in the face of persecution, is the sole term to feature a questionable website on the first page of results.”

“Reputable” according to whom? “Questionable” according to whom? Google is bowing to pressure from Muslim such as Omar Suleiman without considering whether those who are demanding that the search results be skewed in a particular direction might have an ulterior motive. Could it be that those who are pressuring Google want to conceal certain truths about Islam that they would prefer that non-Muslims not know?

Barring any last-minute changes, the Palestinian Authority is slated to resume control of the Gaza Strip border crossings on Wednesday, a decade after Hamas seized control of the coastal enclave in a military coup. The move is part of the reconciliation deal signed between the rival Palestinian factions earlier this month, but a senior defense official told Israel Hayom that optimistic headlines aside, the Palestinian rapprochement seems to be “going nowhere.”

Once the Palestinian Authority resumes control of the border crossings, Fatah security forces will operate the Gaza side of the Kerem Shalom crossings, through which goods enter the strip, and the Erez Crossing, which Palestinians use to enter and exit Israel.

What it means for Israel.

Earlier this month, a new Palestinian unification agreement was signed in Cairo through Egyptian mediation.  It is unlikely to differ much from the previous 2011 agreement between Fatah and Hamas that fizzled away.  In control of Gaza since 2007, Hamas is committed to the destruction of Israel without much pretense.  Fatah, the party of President Mahmoud Abbas, would like the Jewish state to disappear in stages, albeit, with internationally sanctioned agreements, and good doses of terror inspired by the Ramallah regime.  Just like a leopard cannot change its spots, the Palestinians cannot discard their deep enmity toward the Jewish state.

I’m boiling over with disgust. Here we are in 2017. One would think that in our modern world, society has advanced so far that maybe racism is mostly a thing of the past. In some cases it is. But when it comes to hating Jews, it absolutely is not.

Let’s take a few recent cases:

Has anyone heard of the country IJF? That’s because it doesn’t exist. It stands for the International Judo Federation. If you haven’t heard, Israel came in 6th place overall with Tal Flicker winning a gold medal. Aside from Israel having to beg various countries to permit their team to fly into Abu Dhabi, where the competition was held, Israel was not allowed to show their banner flag like every other team did. Special “Counsel” Robert Mueller III with his deputy prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, the man behind the Enron prosecution and the eventual collapse of global CPA firm Arthur Andersen (and its firing of 85,000 Andersen employees, a ruling later reversed by the Supreme Court), has colluded, cooperated, and conspired with Eric Schneiderman, New York State attorney general and associate of Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo, in the persecution of U.S. president Donald Trump.  Cuomo was installed into his two-term governor’s seat by none other than Barack Obama.

Schneiderman has a long history of persecuting the Trump family.

It is now 100 years since the revolution that brought down the Russian Tsar Nicholas II.

For Jews, the fall of Tsarist Russia meant a new relative freedom: the end to the Pale of Settlement, which had prevented Jews from living in big cities, and the abolition of all other anti-Semitic laws, such as quotas for Jewish children in primary schools and discriminatory military service requirements. Soviet Russia also became the first country in the world to declare anti-Semitism a criminal offense.

But as Communism took root, it ignited a civil war that resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Jews during the bloodiest pogroms the world would see until the Holocaust.

Zeev Elkin wants to divide Jerusalem and create an Israeli municipality for Palestinians in several neighborhoods situated beyond the separation barrier in the city

Jerusalem Affairs Minister Zeev Elkin has unveiled his proposal for the municipal division of Jerusalem, which would see several Arab neighborhoods beyond the West Bank separation barrier split off from the Jerusalem municipality and be placed under the jurisdiction of one or more new council administrations.

The move will require the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the completion of various legislative amendments, whose first reading was already passed by the Knesset in July.

Elkin said he believed his plan, which he intends to promote in the coming weeks, will not face serious resistance from either the right or left.

• Curiously, these situations, which involve extensive transfer of people in order to settle in the occupied territory, are rarely seen by the international community as “occupations.” Nor are the respective parties involved described as “belligerent occupants,” “occupying powers,” or “settlers.”
• From the extent and volume of international attention directed toward Israel and the excessive number of UN resolutions, one might be led to assume that Israel is considered within the international community to be the only “occupying power.”
