D9 operators: The humble heroes of Israel’s urban warfare, Part 1

They’re firing them from civilian homes. Every house, every single piece of infrastructure that is used in Gaza is used to kill Jews. Each and every single house.

The U.S. Should Not Sell Weapons to Turkey

Peloni:  Trump’s Turkey policy will be seen to be pivotal to the stability of the region, particularly if he is successful in dealing with Iran’s nuclear program.  He should not be securing this rogue nation with the means to further expand its borders at the expense of its neighbors, and allowing him to return to the F35 program will do exactly this.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan recently declared Ankara would purchase an estimated $20 billion in American spare parts, ammunition, and electronics for its military. Turkey wants more than just spare parts. It wants to be re-admitted to the small club of countries that can purchase the advanced F-35 jet fighter. Turkey was booted from the program in 2019 for purchasing the Russian-made S-400 air defense system, defying explicit warnings from the Trump administration.

The Jewish Miracle the world still doesn’t understand

We must never forget—not only the horrors of the past but the miracle of the present. and how they are connected. Because If a sovereign Jewish state had existed in the 1930s, millions of Jews could have been saved.

Today, on Yom HaShoah, we stop everything.

Sirens will wail across Israel. Cars will halt in the middle of highways. People will stand still in offices and supermarkets.

An entire nation freezes—for two minutes of sacred silence.

RFK Jr. Wants CDC to Stop Recommending COVID Shots for Kids, Inside Sources Say

Peloni:  This is a very important first step.  I agree with CHD’s call to have the access to these shots prohibited.  Healthy children face no harms from the Covid shots, making every adverse event suffered by a child easily avoided.   The long wait for what should seem to be a preliminary step to further restriction, if not a recall, has been disappointing and worrisome.

According to the two people who spoke to Politico on condition of anonymity, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has advocated internally to have the CDC stop recommending COVID-19 vaccines for children, arguing there is little scientific evidence that the shot provides a benefit to babies and young children.

Finance Minister Smotrich attacks Netanyahu & IDF over Gaza policy, demands humanitarian aid not be renewed

Peloni: Israel must ignore the call of the international community to fuel Hamas’s terror war.  Smotrich is again quite correct.  End any support of the enemy, and force them to choose between surrender and obliteration.  There can be no third alternative offered to them.

‘Hamas will have to be defeated under the next government,’ Yair Lapid says

Peace on the Rocks: Zelensky Refuses to Cooperate

Peloni:  Is Zelensky posturing for a better deal?  I have argued that he is not.  He just can’t be seen to negotiate with Russia, so the peace deal will go nowhere.

Vladimir Zelensky has thrown a wrench into the Trump administration’s effort to gear up peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. Just after Putin, in a major departure from Russia’s policy, announced he was willing to talk to Zelensky, Zelensky himself rejected the deal US negotiators put on the table.

Trades in the NBA and in Europe

By Walter E. Block

The trading deadline in the National Basketball Association has just been concluded. One of the most high profile switcheroos was the Dallas Mavericks trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. The former gave up their star guard, Luka Doncic, for the highly skilled forward-center of the latter, Anthony Davis. The jury is still out on this one, since Davis is on the injury list and has already missed out on a few games. Even were this not the case, it usually takes a season or two or three to determine which team got the better of the deal. For that depends upon are not only the abilities of the two traded players, but, also, on how well they fit in with their new team-mates.

Last month, one-month-old Roxana was wrested at gunpoint from her mother Emily Yazdani’s breast by police and Child Protective Services (CPS) of Loudon County, Virginia. CPS placed the infant in a “foster to adopt” program before being returned to her parents after eight days. A few vigilant websites reported it, but mainstream media ignored this heartless snatching.

The Shoah: “An Event of Overbearing Magnitude”

What is so alarming about the Holocaust is the involvement of average people, many of whom participated not so much out of hatred of Jews, but because this was part of their job. And then there is the intelligentsia.

“There are events of such overbearing magnitude that one ought not to remember them all the time, but one must not forget either. Such an event is the Holocaust,” declared Rabbi Israel Spira, the Bluzhover Rebbe. Although the rebbe survived the Shoah, his wife and children were not so fortunate—all of them were murdered by the Nazis.

Remembering is a critical part of what it means to be a Jew, Rabbi Yitz Greenberg reminds us. Because we recall that we were once slaves in the land of Egypt, we view those living in desperate circumstances differently from people who never suffered. Our memory and experience of the Exodus commands us to treat people with love and compassion.

China and Egypt Conduct First-Ever Joint Military Drill Near Israeli Border

Israfan | April 22, 2025

In a significant shift in Middle Eastern geopolitics, China and Egypt launched their first joint military exercise near the Israeli border, a move closely watched by Israeli defense officials. The drill, titled “Eagles of Civilization 2025,” began Sunday at Wadi Abu Rish Air Base, about 100 kilometers west of the Gulf of Suez, and is scheduled to run through mid-May.

Zionism should be valued, not misunderstood

It’s instructive to review how some groups asking American Jews for financial support describe themselves.

Why do so many American Jewish organizations today seem so reluctant to speak forthrightly about their support for Israel and even more reluctant to use the word Zionism?

Fear of rising antisemitism in Ukraine after synagogue is attacked with Molotov cocktail

Peloni:  Only amid the successful pro-Ukrainian propaganda campaign might this story be surprising to anyone.  Recall the reports made by Eduard Dolinsky, executive director of the Kyiv-based Ukrainian Jewish Committee.  Antisemitism in Ukraine is not a point of fiction or Russian disinformation, it is a well featured part of Ukraine’s history which is celebrated even to this day.  Indeed, many will recall the scandalous event of Zelensky saluting an SS Panzer Nazi, Yaroslav Hunka, in the halls of Canada’s parliament, but how many are aware that the Ternopil Regional Council in Ukraine bestowed the horrifically honorific ‘Yaroslav Stetsko’ Metal on Hunka as well?  Or that this award was named after Stephan Bandera’s colleague who stated “I insist on the extermination of the Jews and the need to adapt German methods of exterminating Jews in Ukraine”?  Ukraine has a Nazi problem, and ignoring this fact will not change the reality which comes from it.  These facts might appeal to some among the Woke Right, but it should truly disgust decent people of all walks of life.  Interestingly, while Zelensky failed to reproach his salute to Hunka in Canada, he also stood silent while Hunka received the Stetsko Metal of Honor.  Also where is Zelensky’s well crafted photo op visiting the synogogue in Kryvyi Rih, highlighting and condemning this attack on the Jews of Ukraine?  It won’t be coming any time soon.

Incident is only one of several recent antisemitic attacks in Ukraine

A synagogue in the Ukrainian city Kryvyi Rih was attacked on Saturday night with a Molotov cocktail. The incident, which is only one of several recent antisemitic attacks, has left the local Jewish community concerned about growing levels of antisemitism in Ukrainian society.
