Peloni:  There was never any advantage to be had in pursuing a ceasefire for Russia.  Yet, Zelensky will find it difficult (read as impossible) to accept any final settlement, as I noted previously.  Time will tell.

Importantly, it is now being reported that Trump backs Putin’s proposal for Russia to take full control of Donbas region in Ukraine while with possible freeze along front lines in other areas.  Meanwhile, Europe seems to be pushing for more of the past three years, so no surprise there.
