Peloni:  In the article linked below,Jonathan S. Tobin, Editor in Chief of JNS, describes the plight of the pro-Israel base in America as the tide of antisemitism rising in the United States today is seen to be tied to the unwillingness to confront Islamist extremism. The manufactured charge of “Islamophobia” is employed to to suppress criticism of both antisemitic rhetoric as well as the organizations connected to Islamist movements in America, particularly groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR. Tobin correctly calls out the failure of both Republican and Democratic approaches for downplaying these concerns, but notes that the future of the GOP support for Israel will largely depend on whether it can address antisemitism and Islamist influence without cowering behind the Woke standard of political correctness which of course works hand in hand to maximize the effect of the faux charge of “Islamophobia” while defending antisemites for their antisemitism.  In recognizing this fact, Tobin continues his analysis by raising the fact that by failing to defend against antisemitism, the Republican both abandon the Jews as well as their standards in facing down Wokism.  Defeating the rising tide of antisemitic not only defends Jews against their oppressors, but it simultaneously defends Americans from the demonization and abandonment of those values and standards which define America as well as the movement to make America Great Again.

Peloni:  Another must read article by Victor Satya, in which he describes the institutionalization which exists in England to strip antisemitic attacks of their violent nature and relegate it towards something altogether normative.  The outlook for England Jewish minority is disturbingly grim just in regards to the exponentially dominating numbers of Jihadists which have been imported to England.  Layering on top of this is the disquieting attitude of the English media and authorities which requires terrorists while caught in the midst of their terrorism be subdued with care and consideration for the would be butcher being apprehended.  This presents a reality which is more than dystopian, as it is simply cognitive dissonance on a generalized authoritative level.

Janet Levy: Georgetown Law School students petitioned against having a Jewish economist speak at their commencement – 42% of the graduating class (282/670).  The speaker was replaced by a pro-Palestinian law professor who, soon after the October 7th Massacre, criticized the ADL and the Brandeis Center for Human Rights for their calls to “investigate, disband, or penalize pro-Palestinian student groups for exercising their free speech rights.”

Obviously violent protests and the intimidation of Jewish students and professors on campus does not fall under the umbrella of First Amendment protections for expressing an opinion, however odious.

This announcement follows on the heels of an event at Berkeley Law School in which students cheered a Palestinian suicide bomber who was invited to speak and a commencement speaker at the University of Michigan who praised pro-Palestinian protesters.

Peloni:  It is an important reflection about a person’s character as to the ideologies to which they subscribe and the relative tokens which they collect over the years.  While I recall not long ago the sweeping condemnation of Sen. Webb having revealed his owning a Confederate flag in his personal dwelling, it seems that the same Democratic party which found Webb’s appreciation of the Rebel flag too radical deems a similar veneration being paid to the very Nazi units which perpetrated the Holocaust by Platner is completely acceptable.  I find it difficult to believe that anyone outside of the neo Nazi fringe, which of course includes their Jihadi emulators which Platner also espouses, would find it possible to support someone bearing a Totenkopf tattoo.  Certainly, Schumer finds this acceptable, but as Trump has explained, Schumer has sold his court Jew status to the Pals to such a degree that he has clearly earned the moniker that Trump developed for him, Schumer the Palestinian.  People bearing a moral chord, or any sense of right and wrong should be capable of finding sharp distaste in what Platner finds admirable in the celebration of Nazi symbols and modern savages…or has America changed so much as to mistake evil for good, and good for evil?  I don’t believe that this is possibly true, but we will see.

Peloni:  As Trump employs Chinese influence, threat of ultimate doom, and renewed deadlines, he remains fixed on having the means of declaring victory without a renewal of the war, when the truth remains that any deal struck with Iranians will never be fulfilled by the Iranians.  So, when all of these moving parts come to press Iran into agreeing to Trump’s terms, he will indeed declare victory, but such victories must be understood to be Pyrrhic in nature.  The one ace which might still unravel Trump’s hopes of declaring victory on the eve of his historic meeting with Xi will be the Armageddonist resolve of the Iranian regime as they continue to exclaim their control over the Strait of Hormuz and demand war reparations as demonstrations of their negotiable nature.  So, is a deal with Iran possible or likely, even knowing the terms will be cheated into irrelevance in days, months or years?  Time will tell…

Peloni:  The inevitable solution to the international communities’ resolve to preserve Hezbollaah in Lebanon has had an obvious result.  There can be no peace with an unpeaceable neighbor, even if the reason Lebanon’s hostility is related to Iran having colonized it and seized control from the native people.  There can be but one solution, and while Ben Gurion suggested that the Litani River should have been the northern border, it is likely that such a border would itself still be too far south.

Peloni: Recall that America’s real opponent in Iran remain China, and the pressure being brought to bear on Iran is not coming from the US, but from Iran’s partner, China.  The role being played in this war by China is complicated by the fact that China is partnered with other Gulf states, who were betrayed by China not preventing the Iranian attacks on their countries.  In addition to this, US naval control of key waterways, including the Strait of Malacca thru which Chinese shipping transits, has had its own influence on China.  What is more the importance of the normal flow of oil from Iran, 90% of which goes to China, remains key to China’s economy.  This is the backdrop under which China is currently using its influence over Iran to bring it to the table.   The last time China used its influence, of course, was during the meeting in Pakistan.  So we will see if the current effort is more productive than the last one…they have one week to produce results according to the latest US deadline.
