Peloni:  I would ask that we recall VP Vance‘s outrageous statement at the end of his visit to Jerusalem last year.  Indeed, one day after describing Israel as not being a vassal or client state of the US, he fumed about a vote taken by the Israeli Knesset which demonstrated nothing more than support for Israeli sovereignty over Israeli lands.  While using the pejorative term West Bank, Vance announced firmly,

“The West Bank is not going to be annexed by Israel. The policy of the Trump administration is that the West Bank will not be annexed by Israel. That will continue to be our policy. And if people want to take symbolic votes, they can do that.”

Note that Vance emphasizes the use of the pejorative term West Bank to describe Judea and Samaria, something which is common in the US, but he follows this asserting that no annexation of these lands will take place as if he were in fact issuing a veto over some legislation in the US Congress.  While he has no such authority even in the US, he certainly has no such authority in Israel to do the same.  More specifically, Vance went on to assail the Israeli Knesset for any attempt to annex their lands describing it as “a very stupid political stunt”.  Note that Vance employs a straw man tactic of describing a symbolic statement on extending sovereignty over Judea and Samaria as being the act of “annexation” over these lands.  The use of distorted facts seems to be a ongoing theme with Vance as he also misrepresented the objections raised by Israeli ministers as some form of “attack” on President Trump.  Geopolitical partnerships, such as exists between the US and Israel, require mutual respect reflective in any public commentary between the partners, rather than the condescending and dishonest portrayals which Vance appears to prefer instead.  This pattern of using straw men arguments of annexation and abusive ministers is diminishing to the partnership which Vance once claimed he valued, and it also belies the reality that partnerships are based on mutual respect and consideration for the ties between them if for no other reason than to preserve the relationship in question.  Indeed, it would appear that the relationship between these two great nations is the real target of Vance’s use of manufactured straw man tactics assailing the Israeli govt as being both “stupid” and “ungrateful”, something which would be better expected from an anti Israel pundit such as Vance’s good friend Tucker Carlson, than from the official representative of one half of the US-Israeli alliance in the comments of the Vice President himself.

Peloni:  Rabbi Pescach Wolicki addresses VP Vance‘s description of what he achieved in Switzerland, and the gulf which exists between Vance’s claims and the reality of what was achieved which is actually more accurately explained by the Iranians than by Vance.  It is a sad day when greater truth can be found in the propaganda channels of the IRGC than in the talking points delivered by the American Vice President, and yet, this is where things appear to stand.  Vance’s efforts continues to promote Iran as the regional power in the Middle East, while isolating and ignoring Israel.  Is this to be the real legacy of the Trump administration?

Peloni:  Keep this in mind.  What is taking place under the guise of an MOU is in fact the re-establishment of the Obama-Era Regional Strategy.  This relates to the empowerment of Iran, diminishing America, while constraining Israel.  Vance is leaving Iran in a position of dominance in the region based on their unfettered access to selling oil along with the fungible funds from Vance’s arranging for a $300 billion dollar gift to a terror state which has its terror proxies and missile development program still in place, even if he actually affects the promises of Iran abandoning its nuclear aims, which is not remotely likely.

What is more is that Vance promised that Iran would receive nothing for bad behavior, but instead he has rewarded them with a mechanism of manipulation in the De-confliction cell as a reward for Iran walking away for the talks, on top of the lifting of sanctions for nothing prior to the talks.  Following thru on Trump’s own bluster about unconditional surrender thru negotiations, Vance is using hyperbole to substitute for enforced verification.  Lipstick on this pig still shows it to be a bad deal, bad for Israel, bad for America, bad for the West, but very very good for Iran.

Peloni:  So, let us see if we can grasp  what is taking shape here.  Qatar and Pakistan, two countries which do not recognize Israel, and which more than recognize Iran, are being tasked with the authority to control a deconfliction mechanism between Israel and Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah.  Take special care to note that in this document, when it states that “the parties agreed on the creation of a de-confliction cell,”  none of the parties referenced here were either Israel or Lebanon.  So in fact, the decisions governing the freedom of action over Israel is being arranged between the US, which claims Israel is using excessive tactics and ‘killing everyone’, and three other nations, none of which recognize Israel as a legitimate nation state, and one of which is at war with Israel, and all of which finance terrorism in the region.  The duplicity being leveraged against Israel in this scheme is so evident that a child could grasp it.  Meanwhile, as Iran and its friends in Qatar and Pakistan are managing a deconfliction mechanism over Israel’s freedom of action, every time an ‘incident’ arises, Iran will close the Strait, delays will ensue, yet the flow of oil from Iran to China’s Teapot refineries will continue.  Any chance someone might actually alert Vance as to the obvious ruse he is supporting here?

Peloni:  Bibi is finally responding to Trump’s terrible assertion that the IDF is reckless with regards to civilian casualties in Lebanon.  For every five terrorists killed there is a single Lebanese civilian casualty.  Never before in recorded history has such care been taken to limit civilian casualties as have been secured by the IDF, and this record has not come at a zero cost to the members of the IDF.  In fact, it is outrageous that such lengths are demanded of the Israeli people in the midst of a defensive war, but the record is clear that these outrageous efforts are taken, and the beneficiaries of doing so are the Lebanese people while those carrying the costs of this burden are the Israeli people.  I am most grateful to Bibi for making this point, addressing the blood libels being raised, not even by our allies, but especially by our allies.  This truth should encourage Trump to acknowledge the bravery, heroics, and care which the IDF acts on Lebanese soil.  Lebanon has never been Israel’s enemy, even as its leadership and military act to safeguard the vile Hezbollah whose tight control holds the Lebanese with an iron Iranian grip.  This reality needs to end, and President Trump should support Israel’s efforts to end it, and to recognize that NO OTHER NATION can or will do what the IDF has done.

Peloni:  For all those who have let me know that I don’t understand the plan, Joan Swirsky gives us a breakdown of what we might be missing and why we might all be DEAD WRONG!  I think it is important to consider the possibility that the wide consensus to the contrary is actually in error. Time will tell of course, and to be honest, I really hope I am going to be counted among the many who are proven wrong as Joan explains.  We will see.
