Cultural appropriation of the Swastika and Kaffiyeh- a switch from love to hate

“What is there to separate the Muslims in Europe and around the world from us Germans? We have common aims. There is no more solid basis for cooperation than common aims and common ideals. For 200 years, Germany has not had the slightest conflict with Islam.” (Heinrich Himmler)
Bram Stoker’s classic Dracula (1892) was written as a Victorian-style moralizing tale of sin and its consequences. The author, a political and religious conservative of his times, never could have imagined that his novel would become a bestseller in his own time largely due to its lascivious imagery and terrifying plotline that fed into every anxiety over morality, science, and public health, much less kick off a century and a quarter of vampire films.
Peloni: Finally, Trudeau has been undone and the long road to restoring trust in a representative govt may soon begin for the people of the True North. Hopefully it will take form soon under the direction of an honest champion of individual rights and freedoms such as Pierre Poilievre.
At long last, on Monday Justin Trudeau has announced his pending resignation, although it will be awhile before he is actually gone. In declaring his intention to resign, Trudeau prorogued parliament until March 4, which means it will not be in session, but will not be dissolved. During this period, the Liberal Party will select a new leader, after which Trudeau says he will finally depart from the scene. Thus the misrule of this curious man is likely to come to a definitive end reasonably soon, and we can only hope that he doesn’t do too much more damage between now and then.
Peloni: In the second half of this Morning Briefing, Schanzer interviews Ken Stein who was a former staffer and longtime, close associate of Jimmy Carter until 2006 when Carter in fact advocated on behalf of terrorism against Israel. Stein provides an interesting perspective on Carter, emphasizing that Carter continuously chose his positions such that he would have a pivotal role to play in any negotiations which might follow.
Bribing adversaries to stop only provides funding, which finances their military so they can attack us later with bigger weapons. That is how North Korea and Iran built their nuclear weapons programs. So long as Iran’s brutal theocratic tyranny holds power, there will never be a peaceful future for the Middle East. Iran’s mullahs would surely love nothing more than to cut a deal with the incoming Trump administration that would enable them to stay in power, build their nuclear weapons and unleash them at a later date.
Peloni: Africa was an area which survived the Covid nightmare with remarkably good success, even as they had limited access to the “safe & effective” treatment of choice by western societies, ie the Covid “vaccine”. It would appear that the consequence of this is that the lucky Africans are now to be targeted as the focus of a new medical experiment in which they will be the exclusive benefactor of being injected with the latest formulation of the gene transfection rollout. Hopefully, the Africans will take heed of what they missed by observing the marked deaths around the world, most acutely suffered by those nations with the most injections, and just say no!
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is rolling out a plan to use Africans as guinea pigs for an expanded series of new genetically altering mRNA injections.
Peloni: This was an electrifying debate which had been decided before the debate began, and in which the opposition tried to have Natasha’s ally in the debate, Son of Hamas, removed from the debate floor. Censorship, of course, is the favorite tool of authoritarians.
Peloni: So the leader of the local Muslim Brotherhood party in Israel has volunteered to give Bibi the support so that a deal might be struck which will bring some fraction of the living and dead hostages home in exchange for Israel’s capitulation, which in turn will result in the preservation of Muslim Brotherhood Hamas. The reality is that Bibi could have surrendered with the support of Gantz and his leftist allies, and the political imagery of Bibi striking a deal with the Muslim Brotherhood to save Hamas, well, need we say more?
Capitulation is not an option for Israel’s survival, not without the support of Abbas, and certainly not with it. Hamas must be destroyed, their remnants should be besieged without any offer of aid or sustanance, and their members should face the death penalty for their crimes. Should there be any negotiations, this is where such bargaining should begin. And among the negotiations which might take place, there should be no release of terrorists, no withdrawal of forces from Rafah nor from Gaza in general, and no role to be played by Abbas’ Muslim Brotherhood.
Peloni: Greenfield describes the coordinated effort between domestic and international forces to displace Trump from office to position a sock puppet president, to some degree or another, in office whose mental incapacities, and I would argue additionally his corrupt business practices, left his managers in a position of considerable control over his presidential decisions. He additionally notes that the ultimate challenge for the incoming Trump administration will be to restore representative govt to the American people. Hence, it falls to Trump to eliminate the power of the bureaucrats over the presidency, while also establishing transparency and accountability within the election process. To do so will require far greater accountability for the treason carried out under both Trump and Biden.
The Biden administration came out of a Chinese biolab.
Over 1 million Americans were killed by a Chinese biological weapon. That same biological attack also elected a president whose administration took the lead in covering up the attack.
And that COVID coverup also showed how an unelected and treasonous shadow government had taken control of the Biden administration and of the United States of America.
“Furthermore, I consider Carthage to need to be destroyed,” repeated Cato the Elder. Gaza is Jihad’s foothold, our Carthage. We have no other choice.

The winner in a conflict is the one who better understands the enemy’s ultimate goals and worldview, his aspirations and priorities.
What is Gaza for Israel?
For the average Israeli, thinking within the framework of a rational Western worldview (I am not talking about leftist inversions), Gaza is a bridgehead controlled by a hostile force, Hamas. So, it is necessary to weaken Hamas as much as possible and control it through its proxies (like Dahlan) with the support of moderate Arab states or contain it directly through a military administration.
What is Gaza for Islam in general, and for the local Arab population in particular?
A few weeks ago, I spoke to someone that I respect and trust. I was told Trump is asking the Egyptians to get involved militarily in a campaign against the Houthis. The request, as far as I know, was to send boots on the ground.
Israel has three air defense systems (ADS): Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow. Together, the blast away at incoming missiles, rockets, drones and anything else of that ilk, and render them harmless. Between the three of them, they cover lower heights, medium ones and higher paths of enemy trajectories.
Are they an unmitigated blessing to the only civilized country in the Middle East? At the outset, this seems not only like a stupid question, but an evil one too. It would appear to have only one clear answer: a clear and present yes! Over the last few months, all sorts of armament have come floating in to Israel and raining down on its citizenry, thanks to the “courtesy” of Hamas, first, then Hezbollah and now Iran, too. Thanks to the ADS, countless Israeli lives have been saved, as these munitions have been destroyed.
Unconfirmed reports in September first drew the world’s attention to the possibility that the Israeli army had conducted an incredibly dangerous and complex operation approximately 200 km (125 miles) north of the nation’s borders, deep within Syrian territory.
Peloni: The most charming aspect of the villains which makeup the radicals in Washington is their inability to not take credit for their outrageous exploits, among which must be counted their attempts to to regime change an allied nation such as Israel. Indeed, within the WSJ report, Kaufman also relates the following near confession by Sullivan regarding potential regime change operations in Israel: “Sullivan even listened to arguments about how the United States might encourage a new government to replace Netanyahu but rejected them because it would amount to regime change.” We will no doubt hear more about the treacherous exploits by the US to bring down a friendly govt in Israel, even as they did everything possible to preserve Hamas in power in Gaza, Hezbollah in power in Lebanon, and the Mullahs in power in Iran. It seems that regime change was selectively reserved as a palatable option for Washington’s closest ally.
Elliot Kaufman published in the Wall Street Journal on December 20 an interview he had just conducted with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It’s a riveting read. At three key moments since October 7, 2023, Netanyahu was given advice by the Biden administration on the conduct of the war against Hamas, and then on the war against Hezbollah. In all three cases, Netanyahu ignored that advice and went ahead with what turned out to be moves essential to the IDF’s success. More on Netanyahu’s road to victory can be found here: “Benjamin Netanyahu: The Inside Story of Israel’s Victory,” by Elliot Kaufman, Wall Street Journal, December 20, 2024:
Peloni: The recipe for success described by Prof. Zisser in this article has a major flaw baked into it, and that is that the US, despite being responsible for the Arab Spring from which the Houthis were first empowered, have zero interest in building any coalition against the Houthis. So, with this in mind, how might the Houthi threat, which is in fact just an extension of the threat from Iran, be expunged? I argue that all solutions to the threats emanating from the Iranian terror tentacles, such as the Houthis, must begin with the eliminating the central hub of these threats which exists in Iran, following which the surviving tentacles will become far more manageable, even as they will likely persist, though in some less threatening form after being isolated from any resupply of Iranian fresh funding and arms deliveries.
Initially perceived as a minor issue, the threat from Yemen has evolved into a central strategic front for Israel. Despite some PR-oriented strikes against Houthi infrastructure and US promises to “deal” with the issue, these efforts remain limited and lack real impact.

Following the October 7 terrorist attack, Iran’s proxies across the Middle East quickly joined Hamas in its war against Israel. Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran-loyal Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, and the Houthis in Yemen all contributed to this coordinated effort. The Houthis attacked Israeli ships in the Red Sea and launched drones and missiles toward Israel.
