Peloni: As I have held since before Bibi won the last election, Judicial reform will be instituted in this election or the next. It is a topic which will not pass from the public’s consciousness, because the whimsical use of arbitrary power as evidenced in the judgements of the court are what brought this matter to take root in the public’s consciousness in the first place, and the outrages which are forthcoming from the High Court will only increase as they feel the threat of public scrutiny or inspection…and the circumstances surrounding Justice Amit’s appointment clearly demonstrate this.
The Supreme Court has failed the most basic test of judiciousness, showing itself to be rash, tone-deaf, and ultimately unaccountable.

It is often said that wrongdoers ultimately trip themselves up. In that spirit, we have just seen a prime display of self-revelatory guilt with our Supreme Court’s handling, or rather, non-handling of the elevation of Justice Isaac Amit to president of the court.
