The persistence of Israel’s ‘Periphery Doctrine’

Peloni:  Israel alone in the region is addressing the threat posed over minorities in the region, and while the Trump administration has spoken about the genocidal threat to the Christians in Africa, it has failed to support the plight of the Christians in Syria where they are sponsoring the Jihadist regime of minority slaughter by the US supported Jolani govt and allies.  While the US can ill afford to be the world’s policeman, the fate of Christians in US supported Egypt and Syria and Lebanon are far more amenable to US threats regarding the fate of their Christian communities than Africa.  While it need not be a choice between the plight of the Christians of the Middle East or those of Africa, there is a great deal of influence which the US could bring to bear in nations where US influence and funding is key to the stability and survivability of the relative regimes of the Middle East.

The burgeoning relationship between Somaliland and Israel proves that the Jewish state is not hated and isolated in the region, despite the neighboring cluster of authoritarian states insisting otherwise.

“Only Israel supports you.”

These words, delivered in a tone by turns mocking and threatening, were addressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the people of Iraqi Kurdistan following their September 2017 referendum on independence, in which 93% of participants voted in favor.

Sadly, Erdogan was correct.

Amid Internet Cuts, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi Calls for Coordinated Protests

Peloni: So, will Trump act to support the protestors, and what form might that support take?  It is highly unlikely that he will fulfill Sen. Graham’s claim that Khamenei will be killed, but he could strike the IRGC facilities and/or those of the Basij, the internal security forces which enforces the oppressive will of the Mullahs on the Iranian people.  Such strategic moves could certainly provide the protestors with a valuable support.

Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has warned the Iranian Islamic regime that President Donald Trump and the world are “closely watching” as events unfold in Iran, with the implied threat that if there are too many deaths of protesters, Trump could intervene. Senator Lindsey Graham says that in such a case, Trump will definitely “kill Khamenei.” Reza Pahlavi has said that any attempt by the regime to cut off internet access — it has already been done in some places — will only cause more protesters to turn out on the streets. And on January 7, Reza Pahlavi again called on Iranians to come out in “coordinated protests across the country.”

More on the latest developments in Iran can be found here: “Internet, phone services shut down across Iran as protesters attack state broadcaster offices,” by Alex Winston, James Genn, and Goldie Katz, Jerusalem Post, January 8, 2026:

BORDER AGENTS ATTACKED: Border Agents Fire Defensively After Car-Ramming Attempt, Democrats Close Ranks Around Gangbangers

Update:  See the latest footage of the attack on the ICE officer from his own perspective.

Federal Border Patrol agents fired defensive shots in Portland after an alleged member of Tren de Aragua attempted to run them over with a vehicle, according to the Department of Homeland Security. DHS confirmed the suspects were illegal Venezuelan nationals tied to the notorious gang’s sex-trafficking and violent criminal operations. Agents identified themselves during a targeted stop; the driver then “weaponized” the vehicle and tried to mow them down. Fearing for their lives, agents fired in self-defense.

Members Of The Qatar-Funded International Union Of Muslim Scholars Call For Action Against The UAE…

Peloni:  The UAE is committed to eliminating the threat of the Muslim Brotherhood in its own borders, and has employed a strategy which fails to employ such a rigid focus against radicalism beyond their own realm, which is why they spent two years opposing Israel from dealing a fatal blow to Hamas, and why they aligned with the radicals as it brought Israel before the UNSC on fake charges of condemning Israel just because an Israeli Minister visited the Temple Mount. Relevantly, the UAE is supporting the Trump strategy of only targeting a partial list including only some of the Muslim Brotherhood Chapters.  This attempt of half baked measures only serves to support the threat which Jihadism poses, to the UAE, and to the US, as it ignores the reality that Jihad seeks no borders, no divisions, and no bargains.  Instead, their goal is to include the entire world in their vision of conquest under a world wide caliphate, and the choice to lend support or tolerance to any aspect of these Jihadis or their goal only makes this goal all the more possible.  The Brotherhood and their policies need to be opposed by the moderate Sunni nations such as the UAE, but also by the Western nations such as the US.  Failing to appreciate the importance of seeing a cancer as cancerous only establishes the malignancy to spread and thrive beyond the relative boundaries which are selectively deemed as taboo.  As is evident here in this article, no bargains with this scourge will long protect those who enter into such arranged marriages of convenience.

The Trump administration’s intention to designate the branches of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon as terrorist organizations has heightened tensions in the Arab world between supporters of the MB and its opponents. As part of this tension, two senior MB figures who are also members of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), an arm of the Qatari regime for disseminating extremist Islamist, anti-Western and antisemitic ideology,[1] attacked the UAE over its positions and policies against the MB and its support for Trump’s initiative.

The Digital Services Act: A Mechanism of Mass Censorship

Peloni:  The policies of censorship are policies of control and oppression.  All freedom loving people should be repulsed by the attempts of governing oppressions which limit their freedom of expression and personal liberty.

  • According to critics, this framework [the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA)] effectively forces American platforms to act as “speech police” on behalf of the EU, under the constant threat of severe sanctions. In doing so, the DSA produces extraterritorial effects that extend well beyond Europe. This point is crucial: any American user of X, for instance, can be sanctioned by X for expressing opinions on the platform. In practice, the DSA is thus applied to all Americans. This requirement constitutes a clear instance of the normative imperialism that has characterized the EU for the past 20 years.

When ‘Zionist plot’ replaces legitimacy: Maduro, Venezuela and America’s red lines

Peloni:  The foul sickness of Jew Hatred which has taken hold in the psyches of many in our current age is a frightening and growing event.  Where it might lead and how it might end is clearly uncertain at this point, but if past proves prophetic as is too often true, we are facing an ever greater calamity which will forever cast a shade of shame for those inheriting the mantle of the Greatest Generation which recognized this soiling scourge as a clear death knell of morality and decency.  As the chants for the annihilation of the Jews of Israel are followed by Jew Hunts in Amsterdam, Jew Shaming in Harvard, Jew Ransoming in Gaza and Jew Slaughter in Australia, the grand old generation which made an easy transition from defeating the Nazis to defying the Communists could only look down in shame at the rogues which are filling the streets of the modern world which were paved with the cost and privilege of facing down the very evil which is today made more and more commonplace among people we know and whom we once considered to be honest and good folks, only to find that they have morphed into the fountains of Jew Hating propaganda which would have made them the pride of Goebbles.

The charge was as ugly as it was predictable, reaching reflexively for conspiracy when accountability proved inconvenient.

The first reaction from Nicolás Maduro’s allies was not denial, reflection or even outrage over the mechanics of his reported rendition. It was an accusation. Almost immediately, regime figures and sympathetic outlets claimed the operation bore “Zionist fingerprints”—that it was inspired, guided or orchestrated by Israel. The charge was as ugly as it was predictable, reaching reflexively for conspiracy when accountability proved inconvenient.

AFSI Strongly Opposes Turkish Role In Any Gaza Stabilization Force

Peloni:  It is one of the great perversions of our age that the Muslim Brotherhood Turks would expect, much less be offered, any position within the key strategic position in Gaza.  While this was always true, the relevance of the threat of offering them such close access to Israel becomes all the more obtuse and obviously unacceptable when the statements of Erdogan’s intent of retaking Jerusalem lies fresh upon the headlines.  This, in combination with their close association with Jolani’s Syrian govt, an association reaffirmed in recent days as the conquest of the Kurds has been put into play, should make any suggestion of Turkey taking a role in Gaza to be completely inexplicable.

NEW YORK — A leading pro-Israel organization has come out strongly against the possible deployment of Turkish soldiers to Gaza as part of a proposed International Stabilization Force, warning that Ankara’s longstanding ties to Hamas make it fundamentally unfit to play any role in Gaza’s future security or reconstruction.

Socialism Works. Democratic Socialism Will Work Even Better

By Alexander G. Markovsky

Image via AI

Opponents of socialism often cite Cuba, Venezuela, and the former Soviet Union as evidence that the system “doesn’t work.” They argue that, unlike earlier economic arrangements — slavery, feudalism, and capitalism — each of which was explicitly organized around producing wealth, and each of those systems was superior to its predecessor in its capacity to generate it, socialism has failed to create a higher level of economic prosperity.

Netanyahu Receives US Backing to Confront Hezbollah

Peloni:  The comedy of the Lebanese being able to disarm Hezbollah has finally lost its support among Washington.    The report below references “an expanded Israeli air campaign” but the truth is that dislodging Hezbollah from its positions south of the Litani will require more than an air campaign, even an expanded air campaign.  So is this “Washington approved” assault intended to achieve this goal?  When Israel was forced to agree to the ceasefire arrangement, they were well positioned on Lebanese territory.  If the limit of this campaign is to be an aerial assault, Hezbollah will not surrender its presence in this area.

As Lebanon fails to meet disarmament obligations, Israel prepares decisive action with American support.

A decisive moment is taking shape on Israel’s northern border. After years of warnings, deadlines, and broken promises, Israel is signaling that patience has run out and this time, it is doing so with clear backing from Washington.

Internet and Communication cutoff from Iran as Mullahs airs Tucker Carlson

Peloni: As the Iranian regime cuts off all connection with the outside world, they sent in regular IRGC troops to shut down the riots as they play reruns of their favorite podcaster, TUCKER CARLSON.  Of course, why wouldn’t the Mullahs promote propaganda which supports their grip on power when that grip is at meeting its greatest challenge, arguably ever.

Israel’s Foolish Pursuit of Peace

Peloni:  The path towards peace will be best served by Israel recognizing and focusing on its own strengths.  Eliminating foreign capacities while maximizing Israeli strength and willingness to employ that strength with devastating efficiency is what will bring peace.  Having cooperative partners in power throughout the region within whom to effect such a peace is likewise necessary, as recognizing that Muslim Brotherhood idealogues will never accept peace under any circumstance other than that of a hudna, making such negotiations a fool’s errand as Sha’i explains below.

The list of peace plans for the Jewish nation in the land they brought back to life is lengthy. The first was 1922’s League of Nations’ Palestine Mandate that twice referenced the “historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine” as the “grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.”

IDSF Briefing: Tehran Protests Escalate: Will the Regime Fall and Will Israel Launch a Strike?
