The strategic aspects of the Gaza war

Opinion: Iran’s credibility and its entire proxy strategy are suddenly at stake after world pointing to Tehran as backer of Hamas and threat of regional conflict threatening to bring fighting to its doorstep

By Dr. Avigdor Haselkorn, YNET

Assessing the entire strategic impacts of the war in Gaza is a Herculean task. The reverberations are bound to be felt by individual countries, regionally as well as in the global arena. Some of its results will only emerge over time. Yet a few initial observations could already be offered.

One overarching fact has reemerged. Rudimentary weapons are more than enough to cause unspeakable horrors, mass slaughter, and destruction when in the hands of a fanatical army that weaponized evil. Indeed, it may be postulated that given the October 7, experience barbarism amounts to the nuclear option of Jihadism when it comes to its extermination-causing potential.

Israelis Are Still Captive to Netanyahu’s Doctrine

By Carolina Landsmann, HAARETZ

It seems as if years have passed since “60 Minutes” aired its episode about the government’s judicial overhaul. It included an interview with combat pilot Shira Eting, one of the leaders of Brothers and Sisters in Arms, in which she said, “If you want pilots to be able to fly, and shoot bombs and missiles into houses knowing they might be killing children, they must have the strongest confidence in the people making those decisions.”

On October 7, we learned that the threat of reservists refusing to serve was never carried out. At the moment of truth, they showed up with no hesitation. The pilots proved that they were prepared to bomb houses even knowing that they might well kill children. Does this imply that they have “the strongest confidence in the people making those decisions?”

White House removes CAIR from national strategy on antisemitism

PELONI. Having professional antisemites involved in any attempt to address the growing antisemitism in the US only serves to demonstrate how completely disinerested the establishment is in combatting antisemitism.  Their role in this position was an outrageous act of Jew Hatred from the day they were appointed to this position which preceded October 7, and yet, even after they celebrated the slaughter of Jewish innocents that day, it has taken the administration two months to take any steps in responding.

ALL Muslim Brotherhood organizations should be stripped of all such govt positions, refused govt funding, and placed on terror watch lists.

A White House spokesman also condemns “shocking, antisemitic statements” from the Council on American-Islamic Relations executive director.

As of 1:51 p.m. on Dec. 7, the archived page continued to reference CAIR, but at some time thereafter, the White House removed that reference.

How Were the Universities Lost?

The Ivy league and their kindred so-called elite campuses may soon go the way of Disney and Bud Light

By  Dec 7/23

After October 7, the public was shocked at what they saw and heard on America’s campuses.

Americans knew previously they were intolerant, leftwing, and increasingly non-meritocratic.

But immediately after October 7—and even before the response of the Israeli Defense Forces—the sheer student delight on news of the mass murdering of Israeli victims seemed akin more to 1930s Germany than contemporary America.

Recognizing Israel’s right to exist is now mandatory for those who want to become German citizens in the former East German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

Applicants living in the state will have to confirm in writing “that they recognize Israel’s right to exist and condemn any efforts directed against the existence of the State of Israel.” Saxony-Anhalt’s interior minister, Tamara Zieschang, a member of the center-right Christian Democratic Union party, said Tuesday that the rule went into effect at the end of November.

Why Israel Is Target #1 of the Global Left

The attack on Israel’s legitimacy is part of a larger assault by the global left and global capital on the democratic nation-state

By Gadi Taub, TABLET 5 December 2023

Antisemitism has evolved through a breathtaking dialectical leap: It is now conveyed through the lingo of human rights. This is how a host of liberals and progressives—many of them Jews—have been seduced into supporting NGOs that claim to promote human rights, but are in fact promoting a racist view of the Jewish people. They do so by singling out the Jews as the one people not partaking in the universal right to self-determination, and Israel alone among the nations as the one state which has no right to exist. Singling out the Jews for special hostile treatment is, of course, the very definition of antisemitism.

New documentation, including the laptop of a key Hamas commander, offers additional proof of the terrorist group’s meticulous planning of the Oct. 7 massacre.

The field intelligence unit of the Israel Defense Forces’ Military Intelligence Directorate, known by the Hebrew acronym AMSHAT, released the documents on Monday.

The false moral equivalence of ‘settler violence’

There is no culture of Jewish violence in Judea and Samaria.

By DOUGLAS ALTABEF

(December 6, 2023 / JNS) At a time when Israel is reeling from the monstrous Oct. 7 Hamas massacre, it is distressing and more than a bit surreal to see a newfound effort by some to create a moral counterweight to Hamas in the form of “settler violence.”

This obsession has mesmerized many sanctimonious finger pointers, from U.S. President Joe Biden and his Secretary of State Antony Blinken to a conga line of commentators desperate to claim: Yes, Hamas is bad, but let’s face it, they’re Palestinians, so what do you expect? But, they say, the Jews, who are trampling the rights and usurping peace-loving Palestinians, are not only morally reprehensible but pose a grave threat to the entire region.

“The US is examining the possibility of a settlement process and an agreement between Israel and Lebanon”

Peloni: The US is looking to solidify their move to reverse the recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan which was begun over the  summer as they further their realignment towards Iran at Israel’s expense.  They are even employing the same diplomat who pushed thru Israel’s capitulation on the gas deal while doing so.  As Michael Doran notes, “This is very bad” for Israel.”

Bibi must not be manipulated into capitulating to American demands as Bennet and Lapid did with the Maritime deal.

Aksi see Tony Badran’s comments at the bottom.

Google translation:

*Breaking: The US is examining the possibility of a settlement process and an agreement between Israel and Lebanon on the land border between them, similar to the maritime border agreement signed in 2022, Israeli officials say. They said that White House official Amos Hochstein, who was a key mediator in obtaining the maritime border deal and has been dealing with reducing the chance of escalation in the north since October 7, examining the possibility of convening a similar mechanism to reach an agreement in the border disputes between Beirut and Jerusalem. These disputes refer, among other things, to Mount Dov. The National Security Council and the US Embassy in Tel Aviv did not respond to the matter.

Will Israel actively encourage migration of Gazans?

While there is no talk on forcible transfer and no official plan has been discussed, there appear to be two camps over how Israel should address this question, in view that refugees in a war zone should be allowed to travel to host countries if they want to.

When the ceasefire was in effect, the War Cabinet ministers made it clear time and again that this was just a temporary pause. In fact, all the government ministers said that. They made it clear not only to the citizens of Israel but also to world leaders, chiefly among them President Joe Biden.

October 7 was a seminal moment when an entire nation was humiliated and was dealt a painful blow. Even as Cabinet ministers instructed the IDF to cease fire, it was important for them to convey a united front and stress that the fire would resume after the pause. This was maintained even in closed-door security consultations in the larger and smaller versions of the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet.

Israel Won Mankind’s First Ever Space Battle by Destroying Houthi Missile Outside Atmosphere

By Oliver JJ Lane, BREITBART 6 December 2023

ISRAEL – DECEMBER 16: In this handout photo, an Israeli Arrow anti-missile missile is launched in a successful test to detect and obliterate a high-altitude target missile early morning December 16, 2003 from an central Israel Air Force (IAF) base. The test was the sixth in a series examining the operational performance of the Arrow, now deployed by the IAF, intended to protect Israel from ballistic missile attacks. (Photo by Israeli Aircraft Industries/Getty Images)[/caption]

Israel deployed its Arrow long-range air defence missile for the first time last month, shooting down a ballistic missile in outer space, which is being called the first space battle.

Houthi terrorists launched an Iranian-made Ghadr-110 ballistic missile at Israel last month which was intercepted by an IDF Arrow 2 missile. Incredibly, the interception took place well out of Earth’s atmosphere above the 100km (62 mile) Karman Line, which denotes the boundary of outer space.

Pence’s Role in the Events of Jan. 6 Is Far More Significant Than Many Realize | Truth Over News

Peloni: History comes from studying  timelines and exploring the stories which are revealed by doing so.  Relatedly, the events which took place on January 6 was not just an event, as it was the culmination of a staged process to make the insurrection of November 3 irreversible.  Do recall that the government assets which were moved into Washington were aware of Pence’s decision long before Jan 6, even as Pence clearly made every effort to obscure his decision til four minutes before the Jan 6 ‘insurrection’ hoax was put into motion.  Indeed, the raised expectations for Pence and the Congress to act and the contrasting revelation that they were not going to do so, was the very atmosphere around which the ‘attack’ was staged.  Hence, the question remains if Pence’s misleading comments which set the stage for the faux Capital attack on January 6 was the limit of his involvement in the events of that day.  Do recall the following as well:

Patrick Byrne: Been telling people this since the start: J6 was supposed to be at the Mall, where sober government scientists were prepared to explain to Congress our concerns. But Pence’s staff took over January 4, cancelled the scientists, and turned it into a vapid pep rally at the White House. Bad judgement, or sabotage?

The answer to these questions will not remain unanswered forever, as I suspect that History will one day come to reveal the full tale of January 6, and the degree to which Pence was knowingly or not involved in setting the stage for that fateful event.

Jeff Carlson, Epoch Times  Dec-01-2023

The recent release of the first round of January 6 tapes by the new House Speaker Mike Johnson, marked an important milestone, and may play a very real role in the upcoming elections.

It was the first real pushback against a fictional story created by the Left and carried by the media. The impact of the tapes, although difficult to quantify, should not be overlooked. Most of us have known all along that the “January 6 Insurrection” narrative was a hoax—albeit a very effective one—that was perpetrated by the Left, but for many the release of the tapes was their first exposure to an alternative version of events that had been force-fed to them by the January 6 Committee and the media.

‘Israeli female soldiers shot in crotch, vagina, breasts on October 7’

T. Belman.  Force yourself to read this. And watch this video.

“It was often impossible for families to be shown faces – and it seems as if mutilation of these women’s faces was an objective in their murders.”

By TOVAH LAZAROFF, JPOST Dec 6/23

(Warning: This story describes deeply disturbing events and testimonials in graphic detail.)

Expressions of agony survived their deaths, army reservist Shari Mendes said as she described what experts saw when they identified and prepared for burial the bodies of female victims of Hamas’s October 7 massacre.

“These women arrived with their eyes open, their mouths grimacing, their fists clenched,” said Mendes, whose IDF rabbinical unit worked with the bodies, all of which were brought to the IDF’s Shura base.

MK Forer to INN: ‘Legislate removal of terrorists’ families – enough acceptance’

MK Oded Forer calls on government to pass law to remove terrorists’ families from Israel, prevent terrorists from returning home after release from prison.

By Yoni Kempinski, INN   6 December 2023

Oded Forer

MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beytenu) believes that a bill removing terrorists’ families from Israel should be passed as quickly as possible, and will increase deterrence against terror.

“We do not have a desire to make headlines and media noise, but truly to give another tool to the defense echelon in their battle against terror,” Forer told Israel National News – Arutz Sheva in an interview.

“This bill was legislated and passed its preliminary reading at the start of the year, and since then it has been stuck. I have no intention of allowing this bill to become a declaration of a law – like this government has done many times. We need to advance this bill.”

Ben Gvir: More than 260,000 people have applied for a gun license since October 7

By CARRIE KELLER-LYNN, TOI,4 December 2023, 4:30 pm

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir says more than 260,000 new requests for a firearm have been submitted to his ministry since the October 7 outbreak of Israel’s war with Hamas.

The requests are in line with Ben Gvir’s successful push to ease eligibility requirements for applying for a firearm license, which his ministry says has increased the potential permitted pool by “tens of thousands.”

“When the war started, we knew that we were right when we said that every place that has a weapon can save a life,” Ben Gvir says at the outset of his Otzma Yehudit faction meeting in the Knesset.
