Netanyahu deletes, apologizes for post on intelligence heads

PM: ‘I said things that should not have been said and give full support to leaders of security forces.’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deleted the post he published overnight on X (formerly Twitter) against the heads of the Shin Bet and Military Intelligence and apologized for his words after receiving harsh criticism from his cabinet colleague Minister Benny Gantz and opposition leader Yair Lapid.

“I was wrong. The things I said following the press conference should not have been said and I apologize for that. I give full support to all the heads of the security forces. I strengthen the Chief of Staff and the IDF commanders and soldiers who are at the front and fighting for our home. Together we will be victorious,” wrote Netanyahu.

Michael Oren: A War Against the Jews

Hatred of Israel cannot be distinguished from hatred of the Jewish people. Incontestably now, anti-Zionism is antisemitism.

ByMichael Oren October 26, 2023

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews. When the Jew will hide behind stones and trees, the stones and trees will say, ‘O Muslims, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’?” —The Hamas Charter

“The conventional war of conquest was to be waged parallel to, and was also to camouflage, the ideological war against the Jews.” —Lucy Dawidowicz, The War Against the Jews 1933–1945

It wasn’t the rallies with “Keep the World Cleanposters and chants of “gas the Jews.” Nor was it the glorification of Hamas paragliders by the Chicago branch of Black Lives Matter or, in New York and London, the tearing down of posters with the faces of Israeli children held hostage by Hamas. Not even the off-the-charts uptick in antisemitic incidents in Germany (240 percent), the United States (nearly 400 percent), and London (1,353 percent) convinced me.

INTO THE FRAY: Gaza – Mis-conceptualizing the conflict; miscomprehending the enemy

By Martin Sherman

One of the reasons that the conflict with the Palestinian-Arabs in general and Gazan Arabs in particular, has dragged on for years, is that Israel has failed to conceptualize the conflict correctly

There is a prevailing myth that the general population in Gaza is the hapless victim of its radical leadership. This is demonstrably false.

Crucible, not victim

Netanyahu said he was not warned of the invasion by his security forces.

Netanyahu tweeted 4 hours ago:

Under no circumstances and at no stage was Prime Minister Netanyahu warned of war intentions on the part of Hamas. On the contrary, all security officials, including the head of the Security Council and the head of the Shin Bet, estimated that Hamas was deterred and turned to the settlement. This is the assessment that was presented time and time again to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet by all the security forces and the intelligence community, including until the outbreak of the war.

TURKEY THREAT: Erdogan Threatens To Declare War On Israel and Send Military to Gaza in Chilling Warning

Turkey’s president seems to have issued a potential intervention threat in Gaza during an impassioned speech at a pro-Palestine rally held this evening.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed a rally in an afternoon speech where he placed the blame for war crimes on Israel, portraying Hamas as “freedom fighters.”

These comments have sparked outrage from Israel, leading to the withdrawal of its diplomatic representation, as President Erdogan implied that the attacks on Gaza amounted to a “massacre.”

1 in 10 American Jews Support Hamas

Jews for Jewish Genocide.

On October 18, Hamas supporters stormed the United States Capitol and rallied in the Canon rotunda against the Israeli campaign to stop the Islamic terrorist group. While many of the insurrectionists were Islamist and non-Jewish leftist activists, the event was linked to two veteran anti-Israel organizations: Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow.

There has always been a pro-terrorist fringe among American Jews exemplified by organizations such as these two, along with others such as J Street, the Israel Policy Forum, the New Israel Fund, Jews for Racial & Economic Justice, T’ruah and other anti-Israel groups. And while they have generally boasted more organizations than members, a new poll raises the question of what percentage of American Jews supports Hamas and the killing of Jews.

Biden’s Hamas conundrum

The president’s continued reliance on his anti-Israel, pro-Iran officials is not merely a policy disaster. It is a political problem.

Since Oct. 7, American Jews have seen their civil rights trampled every day. Jewish students are subjected to constant intimidation, assault, battery and threats from Hamas supporters on campus. And from coast to coast, the stories are depressingly similar. University authorities refuse to protect them from their pro-Jewish genocide peers.

Then, too, on Thursday, the New York Police Department told the Jews of Brooklyn to stay off the streets on Shabbat afternoon. Pro-Hamas will be demonstrating, and the police said that they will be unable to protect Jewish residents as the terror supporters march through their neighborhoods.

Israeli warplanes pounded northern Gaza overnight Friday and on into Saturday, hitting more than 150 underground tunnels and bunkers of the Hamas terror group as tanks and other forces pushed into the Strip in a limited but protracted incursion, the military said.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Saturday afternoon that the war had “entered a new phase,” underlining the stepped-up ground force activity inside Gaza.

Genocide

The true roots of Islamic Jew-hatred.

“In the fog of war,” goes an old and time-tested saying, “the first casualty is truth.”

Few comments about the genocidal campaign launched against the Jews by Hamas exemplify this better than Fox News’ anchor Shannon Bream’s on-air statement that the majority of Palestinians do not support Hamas. Oh? Hamas is the elected government of Gaza, and has been so since the Israelis in 2005 voluntarily ended their occupation of what was even then a launching pad for unprovoked terrorist attacks on Jewish population centers –internationally recognized as war crimes.

The murderous consequences of Western diplomacy

JONATHAN S. TOBIN

Is Western “peacemaking” in the Middle East perpetuating the Arab-Israeli conflict? “Top Story” with Jonathan Tobin and guest Melanie Phillips, Ep. 115

(October 25, 2023 / JNS)

In this week’s episode of “Top Story,” JNS editor-in-chief Jonathan Tobin is joined by columnist Melanie Philips, whose work can be read at JNS.org and at MelaniePhillips.com.

According to Phillips, support for the Hamas terrorist organization based in the Gaza Strip on display in the Muslim and Arab world, as well as on the streets of cities in Europe and the United States in the wake of the terrorist atrocities of Oct. 7, is not rooted so much in a belief that Israel is in the wrong in the conflict. Rather, it is a manifestation of raw antisemitism: the lust for the shedding of Jewish blood and a hope that the destruction of Israel is at hand.

Hamas’s main operations base is under Shifa Hospital in Gaza City

T. Belman. Israel is not letting the protecting of hostages to be more important than destroying Hamas.  Nor should she allow the sparing of the hospital to take precidence. She can start by bombing all around the hospital. The IDF can land on the roof in great number and then start to descend floor by floor into the Hamas infratructure. It must be done.

It will set a precident for all Mosques, hospitals and UNRWA facilities within which Hamas is sheltering and firing rockets. The stakes are too high to play nice.

Israel can go all out against Hamas – with the world’s backing

Achieving the goals that Israel has defined will take a long time. The elimination of Hamas’ rule and the destruction of its military capabilities will not be achieved in a single defined and limited operation. They will be the results of a process that will involve many prolonged and continuous actions. It is important to formulate plans and manage expectations accordingly.

By  Meir Ben Shabbat, ISRAEL HAYOM     10-27-2023 10:

“People do not choose war; they are forced into it. Those who do not know how to submit and subordinate everything to the needs of the war, when there is no other option, are doomed. War is the ultimate test not only of strength but of the will to live.” These words, by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, were spoken a few months before the declaration of the state in 1948. They still resonate strongly, 75 years later.

If Netanyahu can’t decide, his ministers must take control

T. Belman. Haetzni nails it.

The reason for the delay was that Israel wasn’t prepared for a ground invasion. She just knew how to mow the lawn. She is playing catch-up.

We’ll know within a few days whether the current leadership will find the ability to start coping with the dramatic situation, namely, if it will give the order to move forward with a ground invasion of Gaza.

By  Nadav Haetzni, ISRAEL HAYOM      10-25-2023 20:52

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his supporters purported to classify him as a modern-day Winston Churchill of sorts, but history has already cemented his legacy as the Israeli Neville Chamberlain. Like the British prime minister who deluded himself and his nation by concluding the Munich accord, Netanyahu surrendered and led us to where we are now. Netanyahu isn’t alone on the stand; together with him are the high-ups of the left-center camp along with most of Israel’s defense leadership in the past generation.
