AG Baharav-Miara opposes gov’t’s plans to establish ‘political’ commission of inquiry into Oct 7 failures
Peloni: The question arises as to whom the Israeli public are more comfortable with conducting an investigation of the October 7 failures: the bureaucrats over whom the public have no control or leverage, or the politicians who are chosen by the public. Implications and interests abound among each, but only the politicians will pay a direct price if they are perceived to be obfuscating rather then revealing what took place. Additionally, the politicians alone were chosen by the public in the first place.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara once again expressed her opposition to the government’s plans on Sunday, this time, excoriating the coalition for bills aiming to establish a commission of inquiry into the failings leading to the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas massacre, and to close down Army Radio.
