Journalist Caroline Glick reacts to last week’s news when Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that Iran has stockpiled sufficient quantities of uranium enriched to 20% and 60% purity to build five nuclear bombs. In response to Iran’s nuclear advances, the Biden administration again moved its redline for backing Israeli military operations against Iran’s nuclear weapons.
Is this a time to despair Iran’s strengths, or can Israel take advantage of its strengths and Iran’s weaknesses to defeat the Iranian regime?
Scott Ritter explains what drives Americans and what drives Russians. The US and the EU are in decline. Russia and China are in ascendency. Ritter is on a tour of Russia and is speaking to Russia in this video. RUSSIA HAS TO WIN THIS WAR THIS SUMMER TO END IT.
T. Belman. Galina recommended this article to me. One word of caution, both sides propagate disinformation. Among other things, it suggests that George Soros is being unjustly smeared. What do my readers think? Also,
“Russian state-controlled media, emboldened by Lavrov, added that six million Jews were exterminated by Europeans, led by Adolf Hitler.” I ask you, is it fair to say that “six million Jews were exterminated by Europeans, led by Adolf Hitler.”?
I would also remind you that the EU supports the “Palestinians” and their “resistance”. They are not our friend.
At the very end of 2022, the now exiled chief Rabbi of Moscow made a remarkable statement, urging Russian Jews to leave the country(opens in a new tab) while still possible, before they are made scapegoats for the hardship caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Despite the Kremlin’s long standing efforts to portray Russia as the main force of resistance against Nazism, now and throughout history, pro-Kremlin media have routinely entertained antisemitic messaging. A lot of it originated in Russian nationalist conservative and religious circles. It was, if not supported, then tolerated by Russian authorities, and made its way into pro-Kremlin media. Read more…
A rocket is fired from Gaza Strip towards Israel, on May 10, 2023. Israel and Gaza militants traded cross-border fire.
I was asked a simple question the other morning, just before davening. “Why doesn’t Israel just finish the job?” The question came from a dear friend, who made Aliyah from the UK close to 8 years ago. He and his wife love their life in Israel and regret only one thing: not coming earlier. He admits that politics never interested him, and only recently has started following the tennis match of Israeli political viewpoints. Everybody he talks to tries pulling him in their ideological direction, and while he appreciates the education, he has become quite confused. So… what does one do when they are confused about Israeli politics? They speak to me and I confuse them even more!!
It was clear to Israel that it had not much to gain from the continuation of the operation and that the longer it lasted, the harder it would be to locate and hit new targets, while the risk of mistakenly hitting civilians would only increase but the key to a cease-fire wasn’t necessarily in Israel’s hands
After multiple efforts, it seemed Saturday night that Egyptian intelligence managed to achieve a cease-fire between Israel and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, after almost five days of fighting.
According to Egyptian and Palestinian sources, the cease-fire went into effect at 10 P.M. Right up until that time, rockets were launched from Gaza at the south, in what appeared to be an attempt by Islamic Jihad to land the last blow in this round of the clash.
T. Belman. Putin did state that one of his reasons for invading Ukraine was to “de-nazify and de-militarize” it. But the real reason was to make Ukraine neutral and remove NATO from it. He was prepared to live with the Mintz Agreements but the West wasn’t. So he also wanted to annex the territory which housed ethnic Russians.
Having said that, the invasion has adversely affected Russian-Israel relations.
Putin’s Foreign Minister said, “the biggest antisemites are the Jews themselves” and that Hitler had Jewish blood. Is this a change?
In 2012, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the beautiful coastal city of Netanya in order to celebrate the construction of a monument that the State of Israel built honoring the Red Army’s Victory over the Nazis during the Second World War. It was the first monument of its kind to be built outside of the Russian sphere of influence, as most Western countries are too colored by the Cold War to build such a monument.
T. Belman. I am totally against ceasefires. Not only do they dignify the terrorists but they undermine Israel’s commitment to defending itself, by itself. The only people who benefit is the terrorists, Americans and the Arab interlocutor be it Egypt or Qatari. We give them brownie points for “helping us” stop the rockets.
Most countries, Israel included, resist negotiating with terrorists, but all do it, even Israel, when they have no other choice. It is a sign of weakness. In this case, Israel is strong enough to force them to cry “uncle” and stop without any agreement. So why do it?
In this case Qatari funds the terrorists and then is applauded for getting them to stop. Terrorists, be they Fatah, Hamas or Hezbollah are encouraged to attack us because they know that we will be forced to sign a ceasefire, thereby saving them.
Blinken reaffirmed his country’s ‘ironclad commitment’ to Israel’s security, while calling for ‘equal measures of freedom’ for Gaza.
A spokesman for the State Department said Secretary of State Antony Blinken had spoken with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Blinken and Prime Minister Al Thani discussed the ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, with Blinken thanking the Qatari Prime Minister for his partnership and important efforts to de-escalate the recent hostilities.
Typical of the deluge of the Orwellian gobbledygook opposing the proposed judicial reform is a recent video by virulent anti-Netanyahu activist, Mika Almog, granddaughter of the late Shimon Peres

The greatest danger to Israeli democracy emanates from those masquerading as its champions—Distorting Democracy, July 28, 2011.
Thy destroyers and thy demolishers shall emerge from within thee. – Isaiah 49:17.
For months, Israeli society has been wracked by large-scale demonstrations, with frenzied participants, purportedly protesting the incumbent coalition’s intention to implement a sorely needed reform of Israel’s judicial system.
T. Belman. In fact, why dignify the terrorists with a “Ceasefire”. Just keep attacking them until they stop firing rockets.
The prosecution of his war by Ehud Olmert’s left-leaning government has been a disaster. It has been and based on the desire to avoid another occupation.
By Ted Belman Aug 6, 2006,
The prosecution of his war by Ehud Olmert’s left-leaning government has been a disaster. It has been and based on the desire to avoid another occupation. There is a belief among the Left, undeterred by events, that occupation is the problem. This belief led to the signing of the disastrous Oslo Accords, the retreat from Lebanon in 2000 and the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza. And finally, it motivates Olmert’s Convergence Plan.
If the U.S. reduces its military presence, Gulf states believe, it is best to find a careful route between the superpowers – some of which, like China, have been instrumental in mediating between Riyadh and Tehran

Viewers from the region who watched the appearance of U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the conference of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy did not get much satisfaction. Sullivan, who devoted his remarks to the Biden administration’s policy in the region, first mentioned Iran at about minute 22 of the address. His tone was not especially threatening. When asked about the conciliation agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, a development that is worrying Netanyahu a great deal, Sullivan offered a relatively positive response. The administration, he said, discerns in this a positive potential for regional restraint.
In the mid-1970s I and others worldwide were active in a letter writing campaign to Soviet Jewish refuseniks. Anatoly Sharansky is probably the most well-known of these dissidents. While most of the letters were heavily censored, some did get through and it gave hope to those prisoners of conscience that the world was hearing them despite the malevolence of the communists.
“It is unacceptable that a U.S. government program, which makes the United States and its allies safer, provides funds to remediate the victims of terrorism, and generates income for the United States in a cost-effective manner has been allowed to languish. United States sanctions should be enforced to the fullest extent of the law. As Iranian oil sales continue to rise, and the IRGC continues to target U.S. citizens and servicemembers, including inside the U.S., it is imperative that we use all available government assets to limit the activities of the Iranian regime.” — Senator Joe Manchin and 11 other Senators, in a letter to President Joe Biden, April 27, 2023.

I asked Col. Bruce T Smith for a legal opinion on what restrictions or laws Israel is subject to in its self defense and included the opinion in my post Bomb Gaza. Win the War.
In sum: Israel is free to employ ALL munitions, tactics, equipment and personnel in her arsenal to defend herself against the outlaw Hamas terrorist organization. Short of the intentional targeting and murder of truly uninvolved and innocent civilians, Israel can (and should) operate as freely as she desires to protect her territorial sovereignty and the lives of her citizens.
Izabella Tabarovsky, a senior advisor at the Kennan Institute of the Wilson Center and research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), spoke to a May 1st Middle East Forum Webinar (video) about the connection between early antisemitic tropes propagated in the Soviet Union and contemporary anti-Zionist discourse in the U.S. and the West. The following is a summary of her comments:
In Wednesday’s episode of Human Events Daily, host Jack Posobiec spoke about the differences between the US he grew up in, and Poland, where his family is originally from. The podcast host suggested that the America many people grew up in is virtually unrecognizable now, noting that much of this has to do with the rise of crime and lack of attention to the infrastructure that is integral to the function of the country.
Posobiec has been on a two-week visit to Europe, and one of his recent adventures has been to a Polish village that his family lived in before immigrating to the US. He noted that while there are big cities and many people in Poland, there is no violent crime. And he suggests that the reason for this is that Poland takes crime seriously, something that the US is not doing.
2 million ineligible registrations being removed from voter rolls across the nation in the last two years
By Tom Fitton, JUDICIAL WATCH
Here’s the latest in our many successes for cleaner elections.
Judicial Watch settled an important federal election integrity lawsuit against Pennsylvania and five of its counties.
Pennsylvania admitted in court filings that it removed 178,258 ineligible registrations thanks to Judicial Watch pressure. The new settlement specifically commits Pennsylvania and five of its counties to extensive public reporting of statistics regarding their ongoing voter roll clean-up efforts for the next five years, along with a payment to us of $15,000 for legal costs and fees. “I know something about the Biden corruption – all of this has been sent to the Congress. I was sent to the Iranian govt about a year and a half ago on other matters, and in the context of that I became aware and was informed that Hunter Biden was reaching out to Iranian back-channel with this proposal: You Iranians have $8 billion frozen in a South Korean bank, and my father will sign to unfreeze it and return it in exchange for $800 million funneled into an account for us, and if you do this, it will lubricate the other discussions which have recently been started between us.
