By TOI STAFF27 October 2022, 11:43 pm

Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov on Thursday sought to calm growing Israeli concerns of Moscow’s cooperation with Tehran following the recent purchase and deployment of Iranian drones against Ukraine.

The Jerusalem Post has obtained Religious Zionist Party’s platform on Diaspora Jewry and Aliyah.

“Informed by a deep sense of responsibility for our fellow Jews around the world, we seek to address the following challenges,” the platform stated. Some of the plans the party claims to promote are creating “increased apathy toward Jewish identity and detachment from Zionism among many Diaspora Jews, specifically young adults.” In addition, they suggest they will try to assist with the “struggle to sustain communal institutions and Jewish schools in many Jewish communities abroad.”

The unholy alliance between Republicans and Islamists

Conservative despair about the liberal erosion of the West is delivering it to its mortal foes. Op-ed.

(JNS) The tacit alliance between the Western left and the Islamists—Muslims intent upon conquering the West for Islam—has long been a source of deep concern.

Left-wingers, who exercise outsize influence over Western culture, sometimes make common cause with Islamists over their mutual aim of destroying the West and the State of Israel. This is even though the Islamists’ theocratic denial of democracy and human rights, their oppression of women and their persecution of gay people and dissidents run wholly contrary to the Western left’s professed values.

The Sovereignty Movement: Unmasking Gantz’s Policy

The Sovereignty Movement is troubled by the lack of clarity regarding Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s policy, and is publicizing an ad that clarifies the strategy indicated by his actions.

INN

Under the headline: “Israel or Palestine,” the Sovereignty Movement warns against steps taken by Minister Benny Gantz that promote, in practice, the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The movement expresses concern about what its members characterize as a right-wing mask behind which Benny Gantz conceals his political philosophy.

Beijing’s courtship of Israel has been canny and effective

BY Matti Friedman, TABLET

Chinese Itzik Comes to Haifa

Last week I drove up to Haifa to see with my own eyes a sight that, for most Israelis, has yet to sink in: the country’s brand new port, our third, which is beautiful, automated, efficient, and operated by the same Chinese company that runs the megaport at Shanghai. The first full container ship dropped anchor the day after my visit. Chinese characters adorn the soaring ship-to-shore cranes, freshly painted red and white; Israeli workers man joysticks opposite computer arrays running Chinese software; and in the managerial offices sit Chinese executives.

Israel’s French New Wave

The growing and distinctly western Mediterranean olim are a boon to Israel but a dark omen for the future of France

By Matti Friedman, TABLET

The rumblings of Jewish history take many forms, and in this case the form was a disk of lemon filling, the dough brittle, meringue slightly browned. I was at Gagou de Paris. Across the street was the rival patisserie L’Artisan. I was called jeune homme by a manager graciously rounding down, and heard French at three of the four outdoor tables adjacent to mine. But hurrying by us on the sidewalk were the familiar capotes, the e-bikes, the skinny jeans on Arab teens, the religious girls with hair wrapped like African queens—it was Jerusalem.

Abbas deputy admits that the PA security forces are working together with terrorists

By Maurice Hirsch, Adv. , PMW| Oct 27, 2022

In the morning of Oct. 25, 2022, Israeli Security Forces carried out an anti-terror mission against the “Lion’s Den” terror cell. The cell had carried out a number of terror attacks. The goal of the mission was to neutralize one of its senior members Wadi’ Al-Houh and disrupt the cell’s terror activities. During the mission, Al-Houh and other members of the cell were killed. The apartment they were killed in, also served as a bomb making laboratory.

Bennett has always been a centrist. Lapid is a liar.

By Ted Belman

Today, Bennett said:

“It’s the right thing for the country, these elections can’t have losers,” stated Bennett, “The day after the elections the right thing for the nation would be the formation of a wide unity government, based on the largest parties from the right and left, and then to include all of the parties that recognize Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. These elections can’t have losers, the whole nation can win. We need a wide unity government.”

This illustrates Bennett’s true colours. In 2013 he brought Lapid into the Netanyahu government. In the last election he formed a partnership with Lapid, which included an Arab Party for the first time. Read more…

Why Itamar Ben-Gvir is soaring in polls, and why the left calls him a racist

T. Belman. David Horowitz, the CEO of Times of Israel wrote an op-ed titled Israel risks a catastrophic lurch to extremism”

“On November 1, 2022, 75 years later, however, modern Israel’s electorate, dragged to the right by endless Palestinian terrorism and rejectionism, and battered politically by five general elections in less than four years, seems quite likely to further weaken its strained internal harmony, dilute its democracy, risk alienating its essential international allies, and bring succor to those enemies.”

Haaretz, TOI and JPOST always refer to Ben Gvir as a “racist” and never discuss his policies. Smear the messenger and avoid debate.

Speaking to JNS, the controversial right-wing Israeli politician said, “Our Tanach [Bible] teaches us that we are from here, we have come back to our land. I am not a racist, I do not hate Arabs, I hate terrorists.”

By Alex Traiman, JNS

The rise of Itamar Ben-Gvir is one of the major storylines of Israel’s fifth election cycle in little more than three years. The political firebrand from the right flank of Israel’s political spectrum is soaring in popularity, with polls showing his Religious Zionist bloc garnering as many as 14 of the Knesset’s 120 seats.

How Americans, Europeans Embolden Palestinian Terrorism

By Bassam Tawil, GATESTONE  •  October 27, 2022

The silence of the Americans and Europeans toward the actions and rhetoric of the Palestinian leaders is tantamount to a green light to the Lions’ Den and other terrorists to continue their terrorist attacks. If the Biden administration and the Europeans believe that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader is going to stop a terrorist from murdering Jews, they are engaging in staggering self-deception.

  • Instead of assuming its responsibility for halting terrorist attacks from areas under its control, the Palestinians continue to violate the agreements they signed with Israel.

Will Netanyahu Return? What Israel’s Last-minute Election Polls Tell Us – and What They Don’t

New poll gives right-wing bloc 61 Knesset seats

Brushing off dire polling, Shaked says Jewish Home will ‘run to the end’

Another poll indicated that if Shaked withdrew, the results wouldn’t be different. She is holding stead at 2% even after Bibi said he would crush her. By staying in the race she is in effect calling Bibi’s bluff. Bibi will shift votes to her if he needs her 4 seats.

The far right is rising, the left is in trouble and Netanyahu’s fate hangs in the balance: Israel’s last-minute pre-election polls are crucial windows into who will win power in Israel – and who Israelis really are

By Dahlia Scheindlin, HAARETZ

Amazingly, you’re still here, wondering what will happen in the Israeli elections next week. I have no answer, but will try to address a closely related question: What do we know from the polls? What can we expect them to tell us in the final, fateful days, and how much should we believe them??

A Conservative-Islamist Alliance

By Sam Westrop, WESTERN ISLAMISM   October 25, 2022

Images adapted from neo-Nazi cartoons illustrate Muslim and Christians standing together against Jews, blacks, homosexuals and an array of various, ostensible symbols of the evils of progressivism.

Part 1: Trouble in Dearborn

In October, Muslim protestors descended on successive meetings of the Dearborn Public Schools board, to demand the removal of “LGBTQ” books that “promote pornography” and “homosexuality” from Dearborn’s school libraries. Videos revealed angry scenes and overcrowded rooms, with loud jeers and booing directed at speakers and school board officials, while placards in Arabic and English featured denunciations of the “big sin” of homosexuality and the “grooming” of children.
