Peloni:  Pray tell, exactly what might there be to negotiate with the Mullahs?  The phrase of the day which should be called to mind in Iran is “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER”, and never “negotiations”.  Does anyone remember when the last time Trump mentioned the concept of unconditional surrender?  It was in regards to the war with Hamas.  While Trump chose to otherwise enter into a negotiated settlement with Hamas whereby these barbarians would agree to surrender, er…, dissolve, er…, disarm, er…, nothing (at least yet)…  It is vital that the war in Iran not dissolve into anything related to the coming disaster in Gaza.  Indeed, it is important that the Mullahs are forced to do as General Alfred Jodl did at the end of WWII, and sign a document acknowledging their agreement to “UNCONDITIONALLY SURRENDER”.  This is how wars are ended, and it is how victory is certified, for the benefit of clarity on behalf of both the victors and the vanquished, both in words and in deeds.  It is regrettable that this policy was not pursued by Trump in dealing with Hamas in Gaza, but it should certainly be employed in the war with Iran.

Peloni:  The Iranian people will of course have the final word on who leads them post-Khamenei, but the push should be to have Pahlavi lead his nation towards a better tomorrow, in either a short term or long term position of leadership in Iran.  I think this article gives some good background info on some of the more obscure forces and leaders which will be pushing to take Khamenei’s place.

After long anticipation, the US (“Operation Epic Fury”) and Israel (“Operation Roaring Lion”) launched a joint attack on targets across Iran, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah. It must be said that this is qualitatively different from the June 2025 strikes in three critical ways: those strikes were over in hours, whereas the US military is now planning for several days of sustained operations.

One didn’t need to watch the recent conversation/confrontation between Tucker Carlson and US Ambassador Mike Huckabee that’s created a storm of controversy. The tone and nature of the conversation were predictable. But having watched it, it was breathtaking nevertheless to see Tucker use every canard imaginable as evidence of his antisemitic pedigree. Despite claiming that he’s just asking questions, he comes across as prosecutor, judge, and jury.

Peloni:  I noted two days ago that we were at the edge of a precipice, and since then, it is clear that the combined efforts PM Netanyahu and Pres. Trump have moved in a decidedly important vector toward eliminating the threat looming overhead of each of their nations as a Sword of Damacles for the past five decades.  It has been an explosive nearly two days now and we are looking at the potential of completely reshaping the Middle East due to the decisions made by these two world leaders.  It is an important victory that we now lie on a path leading towards victory over evil, but we must stay the course, without any pivots allowing the embers of the Mullah regime to try to redirect American and Israeli resolve to see this regime ended once and for all in the coming days.   Relating to this the reports of Trump’s potential ‘negotiations’ with the Mullah’s regime at this time seems to be a potentially concerning topic, as the question arises as to what sort of deal might be struck with the regime which has already been decided as needing to be ended.

In this spirit, since Memri.org recently posted the words of a Muslim lecturer in Chicago explaining Islam’s goal as the extinguishing all other religions, the United States might also shut down immigration from Muslim states. The behavior of three Muslims on 24 February, two in Washington, DC, one in Lithuania, also provides justification for such a policy.
