Annexation and International Law

By Ted Belman (Oct 16, 2022)

Russia just annexed four provinces previously considered part of Ukraine. Annexing the land of another country acquired by war is illegal according to international law… or so they say.

But if the residents of such land decide by referendum to secede and declare independence, before being annexed by another country, such as what transpired with respect to Crimea in 2014 and now and the four eastern provinces formerly part of Ukraine, does this make the annexation legal?  Possibly.  It all depends if the residents had the right to secede and whether the referendum was properly executed.

Israel avoids this controversy by extending Israeli law to the land rather than annexing it.

Lancet Commission Report: 6 Reasons COVID Response ‘A Massive Global Failure’

T. Belman. Failure of Prevention fails to mention the banning of ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine. Lancet was the publisher of the fraudulent report it published at the beginning.

Coincidently, a doctor at a major hospital in Jerusalem was my daughter’s guest for Shabbat lunch. I didn’t participate.  She told me that He treated Corono patients throughout.  He said there was no evidence that ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine worked.

By Dr. Yuhong Dong and Health, EPOCH TIMES  11.10.22

The Lancet COVID-19 Commission published an article on Sept. 14, 2022 about the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. As of May 31, 2022, 6.9 million deaths from COVID-19 were reported, but the estimated excess death toll is 17.2 million, based on data from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. The report states that “this staggering death toll is both a profound tragedy and a massive global failure at multiple levels.”

Why, Despite Good Intentions, Ken Burns’s “The U.S. and the Holocaust” Fails

Focusing on America’s failures to save more Jews in the Holocaust unintentionally strengthens the forces that would threaten Jews today. Here’s how.

By Ruth R. Wisse, MOSAIC

Among those excited by the announcement that America’s leading documentary filmmaker had produced a three-part series on the Holocaust were sectors of the Jewish community that have long insisted on the need for all Americans to learn about this subject. Who better suited for this task than Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and Sarah Botstein, known for their well-crafted, carefully researched historical projects? Not only could they be expected to produce a reliable—if not definitive—treatment of the extermination of the Jews of Europe, The U.S. and the Holocaust would also bring the subject home, answering a question that lay at the heart of the matter: why should Americans, specifically, care about this genocide?

Jan. 6 Committee Think They’ve Got Trump Backed Into a Corner, But His Testimony Could Destroy Them: Report

T. Belman. No way. No how. The “source close to Trump” is simply testifying for him. Trump must resist at all c0sts testifying before this kangaroo court.  It is not about adding his evidence, its about hanging him. After the midterms the GOP will have a majority and will either cancel the hearings or take them over and present their won facts and lawyers.

By Elizabeth Stauffer, WESTERN JOURNAL     October 14, 2022 at 3:00pm

On Thursday, members of the House select committee investigating Jan. 6 unanimously voted to subpoena former President Donald Trump to testify about events leading up to and on the day of the Capitol incursion.

A source close to Trump told Fox News Digital that the former president “loves the idea of testifying.”

Partisan bias created a toxic media culture that tolerates antisemitism

T. Belman. I received this link from a friend of mine asking me what I think about Candace now. Here is my reply.
“I do not believe Owens is an antisemite but I do believe Ye is. When Candace came to the “death Con3″ post she did not defend him. She merely asked readers to ask him what he meant.

Since then much more information has come out. I am not aware of where Owens stands now.
Just as Shapiro is in a tough position regarding Owens, she is in a tough position regarding Ye. I think she should comment on all the new information and take him to task and say his remarks are antisemitic. I am waiting for this.” Her reputation depends on this.

The willingness of conservatives to give Candace Owens a pass for her defense of Kanye West’s antisemitism is a product of a hopelessly polarized political culture.

By Jonathan Tobin

(October 14, 2022 / JNS) From the point of view of future historians, anything said by the rap artist/fashion mogul formerly known as Kanye West shouldn’t merit any attention. West, who now calls himself “Ye,” is a product of 21st-century celebrity culture twice over: He was a figure in the world of popular music; and he was married to the reality star Kim Kardashian.

US Supreme Court Overturns Pennsylvania Court – Rules that Ballots with Even Minor Flaws Cannot Be Counted in Elections

Flawed election ballots will not be counted in the November midterm elections in one state, according to a new US Supreme Court ruling for the state of Pennsylvania, which overturned a lower court ruling on the matter.

That means that mailed-in ballots that are not completed or inaccurate are not going to be tallied into the total this time, as they were in 2020, and the Democrats are in a panic about it.

Who is the New Palestinian Terror Group, The Lions’ Den?

By Mudar Adnan Zahran

There has been a streak of terror attacks in Judea and Samaria that have claimed the lives of several Israelis including soldiers.  The attacks were unexpected because they were mostly unprovoked. On 11 October, the Lions’ Den called for “days of rage” to sweep the West Bank, which is a codename for launching terror attacks. Strange enough, the governments-controlled media in the Palestinian Authority, Gaza and Jordan have been promoting this “anger for rage.”
