Globalists Try to Sell ‘European Unity’

But dubious happy-talk can’t hide the real lesson of the Ukraine war.

By Bruce Thornton, FPM  June 9/22

The sponsors of “moralizing internationalism,” as historian Corelli Barnett called it, are busy trying to spin the Russo-Ukrainian war as a crisis that has renewed European unity. For globalists, Russia’s return of Europe to its benighted past of invasions, destruction, and slaughters––horrors that the “rules-based international order” supposedly ended––has instead strengthened and highlighted two show-case institutions of that order, the European Union and NATO. Globalists claim that rather than an indictment of globalism’s failures, the war is restoring both institutions and confirming the superiority of supranational institutions in keeping order and creating prosperity.

Israel And Kashmir: A Replay From The Islamist Dissimulation Playbook

By Janet Levy, AM THINKER

Image: The ~2,200-year-old Hindu Shankaracharya Temple dedicated to Shiva in Kashmir, with the ~627-year-old Khanqah-e-Moula mosque attached to it by Didier Lamouche. CC BY-SA 4.0.

Jerusalem, in Israel, and Kashmir, in India, have a common tie that binds: Muslims and their political allies in the West are diligently working to erase the long-standing Jewish ties to Jerusalem and Hindu ties to Kashmir by claiming that the subsequent Muslim invasions of both those regions preempt all other claims to the land—and by portraying themselves as victims of Jewish and Hindu imperialism.

The Soviet origins of left-wing anti-Zionism

Today’s haters of Israel are heirs to one of the longest and most effective anti-Semitic propaganda campaigns in modern history. Op-ed.

By

KremliniStock

(JNS) Kennan Institute scholar Izabella Tabarovsky wrote in a 2019 essay for Fathom that the Soviet Union’s campaign against Zionism and Jews “succeeded at emptying Zionism of its meaning as a national liberation movement of the Jewish people and associating it instead with racism, fascism, Nazism, genocide, imperialism, colonialism, militarism and apartheid.” Not surprisingly, students on college and university campuses across the United States often hear similar if not identical rhetoric from anti-Zionist groups like Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Solidary for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).

UN Commission report is a declaration of war on the Jews

It outrageously finds no Palestinian Arab terrorist, no Palestinian terrorist organizations and no Palestinian terrorism. Op-ed.

Anne BayefskyYoni Kempinski

(JNS) The United Nations has declared an existential war on the state of Israel. Last year, the U.N. Human Rights Council contrived a unique “Commission of Inquiry” after Israel responded to another round of Hamas rocket attacks. The Inquiry has just issued its first report. Now emanating from the U.N.’s top human-rights body is a brazen attempt to resurrect the old 1975 lie that a Jewish state is a racist state. The report’s allegation that discrimination by Jews against non-Jews lies at the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict is actually at the core of modern anti-Semitism.

New CNN Boss Hits Leftist Hosts with Major Bad News: It’s Time to Update Those Resumes

By Richard Bledsoe, WESTERN JOURNALISM  June 8, 2022

Even while the United States suffers under the Biden administration’s mismanagement, a rebellious quip is becoming truer all the time: “Get woke, go broke.” Former President Donald Trump even coined his own more scatological version of the gibe. Now the network stars of CNN, one of the establishment media’s citadels of wokeness, might be facing consequences for their reckless partisan agendas.Chris Licht, the network’s new president, is reviewing the performance of notable personalities at the news channel to see if they are too tainted by ideology to act as journalists, Axios reported on Tuesday. Democrats Admit the True Purpose of JAN 6 Hearings

BY MATT MARGOLIS, PJ MEDIA

The Democrats’ partisan January 6th Committee hearings are going prime time this week, and Fox News is getting flak from the usual left-wing suspects. “Fox News won’t air the January 6 hearings because they prefer their sedition made fresh on-site,” Hillary Clinton quipped on Twitter. I think she should hire a new joke writer.

US-backed Syrian Kurds to turn to Damascus if Turkey attacks

Hardly a day passes in northern Syria without Kurdish fighters and opposition gunmen backed by Turkey exchanging gunfire and shelling and concerns are rising that the situation will only get worse in the coming weeks with Ankara threatening to launch a new major operation along its southern border.

BEIRUT (AP) — The U.S.-backed and Kurdish-led forces in northern Syria said Tuesday that they will turn to the government in Damascus for support should Turkey go ahead with its threat to launch a new incursion into the war-torn country.

Iran crosses nuclear threshold as Israel, US fight among themselves

“Mideast News Hour” with Caroline Glick and guest Dr. David Wurmser

Glick and Wurmser discuss why the International Atomic Energy Agency’s announcement that Iran has crossed the nuclear threshold, has mastered the nuclear fuel cycle and can independently develop nuclear weapons has gone virtually unremarked by Israeli and American media. Instead, there are reports that the United States—in the interest of lowering fuel costs—may allow Iran to expand its export of oil.

UN Will Justify a Mirror Image of Putin’s War

By Richard Kemp, GATESTONE  •  June 8, 2022

  • Putin went to war to turn into reality his much repeated insistence that Ukraine is an illegitimate state that has no right to exist and is inseparable from the rest of Russia. Similarly, the UN mandate allows it to question the very existence of the State of Israel. Unlike all other UN inquiries, this one has no historic time limit and enables the commission to range right back to the foundation of the state. The commissioners won’t be bold enough to explicitly declare that Israel has no right to exist, but you can be certain that will be the subtext running throughout its report.
  • [E]ven before the notorious 2009 Goldstone Report, the UNHRC justified and encouraged Hamas violence, and that has played a crucial role in efforts to vilify and isolate Israel as well as incite greater bloodshed in the Middle East and attacks against Jews around the world.

Israel ‘overwhelmingly’ to blame for conflict with Palestinians, UN probe concludes

“In life, there are generally only two certainties: death and taxes. But we can add a third, that the United Nations will always find Israel guilty,” Arsen Ostrovsky, CEO of the International Legal Forum, told World Israel News.

By World Israel News Staff

A new report from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) placed the blame for Palestinian terror on the actions of Israel, delving into a plethora of alleged Israeli human rights violations and war crimes.

“The findings and recommendations relevant to the underlying root causes [of the Arab-Israeli conflict] were overwhelmingly directed towards Israel, which we have taken as an indicator of the asymmetrical nature of the conflict and the reality of one state occupying the other,” stated Navanethem Pillay, who is heading the UN’s Commission of Inquiry investigating Israel.

The Gulf States and the Palestinian Authority: On the Brink of Change?

By  Yoel Guzansky and  Kobi Michael, INSS

INSS Insight, No. 1607, June 7, 2022

Recent indications suggest that the Palestinian Authority is eager to ease tensions with some Arab Gulf states – tensions that escalated after the Abraham Accords were signed. To be sure, the poor relations and bad blood, especially between PA head Mahmoud Abbas and United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed, challenge a fresh start anytime soon. Nonetheless, the recent developments, insofar as they suggest a turning point in relations between the parties, are likely to have a considerable impact on the Palestinian arena and Israeli interests.

Saudi Political Scientist: Refusal To Compromise, Which Characterizes Arab Political Culture, Is Detrimental To Arab Interests,

And Especially To Palestinian Cause

MEMRI

In an April 13, 2022 article in the London-based Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, political scientist Tawfiq Al-Saif stated that a characteristic of Arab political culture is a refusal to negotiate and compromise on various issues, especially when it comes to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Even when the majority of people are willing to compromise, he said, they eventually succumb to the pressure of a dogmatic minority that takes an “all or nothing” approach, and this prevents finding solutions for the problems of the region.

Tawfiq Al-Saif (Source: Al-Madina, Saudi Arabia)

The following are translated excerpts from his article:[1]

The Indictment of Navarro is Unconstitutional

by Alan M. Dershowitz, GATESTONE  •  June 7, 2022

  • Navarro has a strong claim of executive privilege that should be decided by the courts before any indictment can lawfully issue.
  • [A]bsent a judicial order, he cannot lawfully be indicted for invoking executive privilege and refusing to reveal arguably privileged material just because a committee of Congress, controlled by Democrats, has voted that he should. It is not enough to allow him to appeal after the fact, because information, once revealed, cannot be erased. He is obliged to claim privilege now and refuse to respond. That is not a crime. It is the constitutionally correct action.

The Politics of Persecution: Middle Eastern Christians in an Age of Empire

Can you guess who a new book blames the persecution of Christians on?

By Raymond Ibrahim, FPM

Raheb, a Lutheran clergyman and academic in Bethlehem, argues that “Christian persecution is a Western construct that says more about the West than about the Christians of the Middle East.” Whatever persecution Christians may experience has little to do with Islam and is rather a byproduct of political developments that were and are almost always precipitated by Western or Israeli actions.

To make his thesis work, Raheb predictably begins his history in 1800 with the waning of Islam and the ascendancy of Europe. Christianity under Islam for the preceding twelve centuries—when it went from being the dominant faith to a tiny minority due to sporadic bouts of persecution and systemic discrimination—is otherwise presented in a rosy picture. Thus, the “persecution of Christians under the Ottomans, if any, was rare and localized.”

Islam, the ‘religion of peace,’ strikes again

By Pandra Selivanov, AM THINKER

Google “Islam is a peaceful religion” and a number of sources will come up, declaring that Islam is indeed a religion that teaches peace and tolerance. Still, there have been hundreds of terrorist attacks in the name of Islam for decades. The Taliban is now enforcing the burqa in Afghanistan, even for female journalists. Ilhan Omar, the anti-Semitic representative from Minnesota, still enjoys strong support from the Muslim community despite her characterization of 9/11 as “some people did something.” I don’t pretend to be an expert on Islam but all this seems less than peaceful.

The campus wars against the Jews

With an entire globe from which to choose, they pinpoint the Jews — only the Jews. The one country in the world with a Jewish majority.Op-ed

Rabbi Prof. Dov FischerCourtesy

It is rather a challenging time these days for committed, devoted Jewish college students on liberal American campuses. They don’t know how to fight, seem only to defend and feel frightened, and their life experiences in being “nice” have left them utterly unprepared for the vicious Jew-hating, even Nazi-like, campaigning against them and Israel they have encountered in college.

Could Israel really destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities in a strike?

By Maya Carlin, CENTER FOR SECURITY POL;ICY

Over the years, Israeli military officials have hinted at the country’s ability to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities if necessary. The Jewish state has led successful operations in the past, striking nuclear facilities in Iraq in 1981 and Syria in 2007. While Iraq and Syria are closely positioned to Israel, Iran is nearly 1,000 miles away. The distance between Israel and Iran remains the most challenging obstacle for this type of operation. However, Israel’s arsenal of long-range fighters and its potentially nuclear-capable intermediate-range ballistic missile would lead to an effective operation.

Jerusalem District Court Reimposes Prohibition on Jewish Prayer at Temple Mount

Caving in to Arab threats in order to “safeguard the public order.”

By Hugh Fitzgerald, FPM   June 6/22

In 1967, Israel’s Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan made a fateful decision. Just after Israel, through force of arms, took possession of east Jerusalem, including the Old City and the Temple Mount, Dayan declared that Jewish visitors to the Mount would not be allowed to pray, either aloud or silently, at the site. You read that right: At the holiest site in Judaism, Jews would not be allowed to pray. Dayan, himself completely secular and insufficiently appreciative of the rights of religious Jews, thought that such a prohibition would be a way of winning favor with the Arabs.
