I Was Part of Putin’s Propaganda Machine. I’ll Do Whatever I Can to Destroy It

Marina Ovsyannikova, the journalist who dramatically demonstrated against the Ukraine war live on Russian TV, wrote in German newspaper Die Welt on why she finally broke her silence, after spreading Putin’s lies for so long

Until March 14, 2022, Marina Ovsyannikova was an editor with the Russian state TV broadcaster Channel One. Then she burst onto the set of the main evening news and held up a placard protesting the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

Ovsyannikova, the daughter of a Ukrainian father and Russian mother, was immediately arrested. A court fined her the equivalent of about $270, but she still faces charges of violating a law against “false news,” which makes it illegal to refer to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a “war.” If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

France Election: Where Macron and Le Pen Stand on Israel and Iran

By Eléonore Weil, HAARETZ    Apr 10/22

France’s presidential election on Sunday gave citizens a strong sense of déjà vu: As most analysts predicted, the results were a repeat of 2017, with incumbent President Emmanuel Macron and far-right leader Marine Le Pen the two candidates advancing to the second round later this month, out of a pool of five.

Haaretz asked experts in France and Israel to comment on the leading candidates’ positions regarding Israel, Iran and the Middle East. What would French policy toward the region look like under each of the candidates – from Israeli-Palestinian peace talks to the Iran nuclear deal? Here is what they had to say…

Ukrainians defy deadline to surrender in Mariupol or die

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The battered port city of Mariupol appeared on the brink of falling to Russian forces Sunday after seven weeks under siege, a development that would give Moscow a crucial success in Ukraine following Russia’s failure to storm the capital and the loss of its Black Sea flagship.

The Russian military estimated that about 2,500 Ukrainian fighters holding out at a hulking steel plant with a warren of underground passageways provided the last pocket of resistance in Mariupol. Russia gave a deadline for their surrender, saying those who put down their weapons were “guaranteed to keep their lives,” but the Ukrainians did not submit.

What kind of Jordan will King Abdullah leave his son?

T. Belman. Two days ago, Abedalelah Amaala tweeted

“Today, an American security delegation arrived quickly in Amman, and from the military airport immediately met with Prince Hussein II, the Viceroy, and discussed with him the peaceful transition or other matters, after it was categorically confirmed the death of King Abdullah II.”

This has been confirmed to me. Also that it signals the end of the Hashemite Kingdom.

As he approaches the age his father and grandfather passed away, King Abdullah II of Jordan is preparing his son, Hussein, to take his place. The problem is that if nothing changes, his son will receive a country in profound crisis.

King Abdullah of Jordan, 60, is all too familiar with his predecessors’ gloomy medical history. His father passed at the age of 63 after a struggle with cancer. His grandfather, Talal, also died when he was 63 after being overthrown and exiled, in addition to mental health issues with which he struggled.

Health problems have also befallen Abdullah, who flew to Germany on April 10 for spine surgery due to a herniated disc.

The Slow, Agonizing Death of Neoconservatism

By Francis P. Sempa, AM THINKER

Matthew Continetti, writing in Commentary, credits leading neoconservatives, such as Irving Kristol and his son Bill Kristol, with “modernizing” conservatism so that the Republican Party — which neoconservatives reluctantly joined after they lost influence with the Democrat party — could suitably govern a modern democracy.  And he laments the fact that since the rise of the Tea Party movement, neoconservatives have gradually lost influence with a populist-nationalist Republican Party.  Leading neoconservatives like Bill Kristol and Jonah Goldberg (then at National Review) publicly opposed Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.  As a result, neoconservatism is now a movement without a political party.

Charles Murray’s Wake Up Call on Race Problems

By John Dale Dunn, AMER THINKER

Charles Murray just can’t help himself; he’s been a social scientist and prolific author for almost 40 years, writing books on the American experience and societal issues. Now he is back in the mix with a book, Facing Reality: Two Truths About Race in America (Encounter Books 2021), that follows up on the book he wrote with Richard Herrnstein, The Bell Curve (1994).  That magnificent work blew the top off of racial debates in America with its in-depth analysis of racial cognitive ability (IQ) differences and socio-economic mobility of Americans and factors that are associated with success in life.

Russia hits out at Lapid for backing its suspension from UN rights council

T. Belman. Is Lapid stupid? Israel is such a pariah in the UNCHR that she should never legitimate it by voting on any of its resolutions.

Moscow’s foreign ministry accuses FM of ‘anti-Russian attack,’ claims Israel using invasion of Ukraine to ‘distract’ from conflict with Palestinians

Moscow on Friday lashed out at Foreign Minister Yair Lapid over a week after Israel joined with other countries to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council over its invasion of Ukraine.

A Russian Foreign Ministry statement accused Lapid of an “anti-Russian attack” with his comments after the General Assembly vote last week, which marked only the second time a country has been stripped of its membership rights on the council.

US -Israeli Relations in the Shadow of Nuclear Talks in Vienna: A return to Ben-Gurion’s WW2 Dual Strategy?

T. Belman. Lerman argues that doing so is problematic,

Politically, in a highly consequential congressional election year, a confrontation with the current administration is bound to be used by the Republicans to denounce the Biden administration – and would drag Israel once again into the American political vortex.

It would also rule out the diplomatic option and could trigger US military involvement. Such involvement could undermine the special relationship, rooted in an understanding that Israel does not need American troops to fight on its behalf. This could also feed anti-Israel voices on the far-left.

To me, neither of these caveats have merit. The days of bipartianship are over and Israel is not asking the US to do it for them.

By Colonel (res.) Dr. Eran Lerman, Vice President of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security.

It is time to revive the spirit of Ben-Gurion’s famous dictum from the days of WWII regarding the stance toward the British: “We will fight the war as if there were no White Paper, and we will fight the White Paper as if there were no war.” This makes sense concerning Israel’s dilemma towards the US in the context of the renewal of the JCPOA.

The Israeli government has committed itself to a policy of close cooperation with the United States and rebuilding bipartisan support in Congress.

The Campaign to Thwart Iran’s Strategy

A proactive approach against Iran’s proxies is needed.

By Colonel (res.) Prof. Gabi Siboni, Expert on cyber security, military strategy, and technology. AND

Brig. Gen. (res.) Yuval Bazak, Military and security analyst, and chief (in the reserves) of the IDF Galilee Division Staff. JISS

Recent years have demonstrated that although Israel’s use of force may have slowed down the development of Iran’s plans, it has not been enough to derail the forces of the Shiite axis. Iran’s resolve presents Israel with a choice: either to take a strategic initiative against enemies that are still weaker than Israel is or to opt for a passive strategy that might lead to war against enemies who, together, represent conventional force close to symmetrical with Israel’s. In practice, this means a transition from a defensive strategy based on the “Iron Dome approach” to an offensive approach that places an “iron wall”1 against Iran’s ambitions.

Rebel News has obtained Global Affairs documents regarding WEF Great Reset meetings

The World Economic Forum planning documents hinted at a desire to use COVID instability to restructure society, cancel oil and gas development and censor the Internet.

REBEL NEWS

The documents obtained through Access to Information filings are high-level briefing notes to the minister of Global Affairs Canada at the time — Chrystia Freeland — for the Great Reset meeting at the World Economic Forum that took place on December 8, 2020.

Sanctions against Russia won’t threaten the dollar’s primacy

By Nicholas Sargen, THE HILL

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine poses one of the biggest challenges to the post-World War II order, and it could portend further problems ahead if the conflict is protracted, as General Mark Milley recently warned.

Shortly after the invasion began, the United States and its NATO allies invoked sanctions against Russia that a VOX CEPR report called “the most powerful and costly punishments imposed on a major economy at least since the Cold War.” The actions included freezing Russia’s foreign exchange reserves that resulted in an initial plunge of the ruble. They forced Russia to impose capital controls, hike the central bank’s policy rate to 20 percent and close the stock market while Russia’s sovereign credit rating was lowered to junk status.

Priests Kidnapped and Civilians Massacred In “Democratic” Ukraine

T. Belman. Survivors in Mariupol accused the Ukrainian army (Ukrops) of systematically bombing the houses and shooting at civilians.  In my opinion, this accords with logic. The Ukraine soldiers knew that Russia would take over the city and they wanted to lay waste to it before they did. Like a scorched earth policy. In addition they could blame Russia for all the destruction and the deaths..

TURLEY TALKS

By Conrad Franz Apr 15, 2022

While “democracy” itself is nothing more than a globalist buzzword used to justify intervention and cultural imperialism on otherwise conservative states it seems that those in the US/Anglosphere deep state have lost all pretense of pretending to support an “open society”. What many who were so quick to decorate their social media profiles with blue and gold flags may not realize is that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the hot culmination of an 8+ year long civil struggle within the Ukraine that involved heavy fighting akin to what we are seeing now.

IDF must make a stand against Islamic Jihad

Israeli forces are not wary of entering the largest terrorist hornets’ nest in the West Bank, even in broad daylight, and the latest raid in Jenin may be the prelude to a wider military operation.

Despite the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv last week and the alerts suggesting other terrorist plots are underway, Israel continues to pursue a differential and complex policy vis-à-vis Palestinians. On the one hand, waging an unrelenting war on terror, while on the other hand, trying not to cripple Palestinian economy, allowing over 100,000 Palestinians to enter Israel for work, and keeping Ramadan mitigations in place.

A solution to end Palestinian Muslim terrorism

This formula avoids collective Palestinian Arab punishment, while promoting the collective welfare of the Jews in their land. Opinion

By Dr. Mordechai Nisan, INN

Some compelling incentives and conditions facilitate a Palestinian Muslim terrorist’s decision to murder Jews: his sense of Islamic obligation, Palestinian patriotic responsibility, family support, and Palestinian Authority financial payment. These are some of the components igniting his enthusiasm and validating his choice to set out to murder Jews, Israelis.

HOW TO PREVENT TERRORISM

Israel implements an impressive array of security measures to ward off terrorist assaults – monitoring potential attackers, surveillance ambushes, preventive detentions, a security fence, checkpoints, and patrolling city streets. Yet it is unreasonable to expect total success.

Darwinian Racism: How Darwinism Influenced Hitler, Nazism and White Nationalism

Richard Weikart’s new book cuts through political manipulation of history.

By Danusha V. Goska, FPM

Suffering is a commodity. Two recent events demonstrated this. On March 27, 2022, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards. Many prominent African Americans, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wanda Sykes, condemned Smith’s choice to resort to violence. Race hustlers, though, depicted Will Smith as a victim of white supremacy. The Guardian ran a piece calling reaction to Will Smith an example of “downright racist … anti-blackness … inequality in plain sight.” “Race scholar” and Loyola Marymount University Professor Maia Niguel Hoskin wrote that the slap “is about … White supremacist culture designed to police the behavior of Blacks.” Others focused on Jada Pinkett Smith as a victim. “How a black woman’s hair grows out of her head has been a constant battle in this country … while at the same time celebrating white women for fitting your styles … Humiliating a black woman fighting for equality is not a ha-ha moment. Making fun of a black woman a week after we saw Ketanji Brown Jackson’s ambush” proves that “racism always finds a way,” wrote columnist Jeneé Osterheldt.
