Dr. Mordechai Nisan has written an article ‘The Conundrum of Israeli-Arab Citizenship‘ published in the Middle East Quarterly. We will discuss how Israeli Arabs express themselves politically in Israel and how normalisation with Bahrain and the UAE is influencing their attitudes. Dr. Mordechai Nisan was born in Montreal in 1947. He earned a doctorate in Political Science from McGill University and, after moving to Israel, taught Middle East Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1976-2010.

Israel Hayom learns that Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit has approved an idea from the IDF’s Civil Administration for a system of land registration that would replace the current one, which takes years and allows for petitions and challenges.

A decision by the IDF’s Civil Administration that would severely cut back on the possibility of Israel settlements encroaching on privately-owned Palestinian land while also preventing the Palestinians from building illegally on land that is under Israeli control has been approved by the attorney general and is waiting for a green light from the nation’s leadership, Israel Hayom has learned.

The IDF’s Civil Administration, which operates under the auspices of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has recommended a process of regulation of land ownership in Judea and Samaria that would replace the unwieldy and lengthy process currently in use. A land survey would be conducted after which land belonging to Israel would be officially declared as such.

Why does the media hate Donald Trump so much? There are all kinds of theories, but only one really makes sense: We are a country at odds over the most fundamental principles of ideology, economics, religion, race, culture, morality—even our own history. The media is on one side of that metaphorical war, and President Trump calls it out.

In this dispute the two sides have always been known to the participants, but the media doesn’t identify them publicly. A major part of the mainstream media’s strategy has been to preserve the perception of its neutrality and keep its role as hidden as possible. It has been criticized in the past for its liberal bias—by conservatives. But never by a sitting president with such effectiveness. (Richard Nixon mostly delegated the job to Vice President Spiro Agnew.) By treating the media for what it is—a belligerent in the culture war—Mr. Trump has done it irreparable damage.

T. Belman.  I have postulated a number of times in recent months that Syria will board the Arab peace train. Secondly I am of the opinion that Russia and US will form a new détente. I am expecting a comprehensive agreement for Syria in which Russai and the US get along.

About three weeks ago, the new Omani ambassador to Syria, Turki Bin Mahmood al-Busaidy, presented his credentials to President Bashar Assad. Busaidy is the first gulf state ambassador to take up his post in Damascus since Syria was ejected from the Arab League in November 2011.

About two years ago, the United Arab Emirates broke through the diplomatic siege when it opened an embassy in Damascus and posted a charge d’affaires there; one day later, it was joined by Bahrain. At the time, Syria seemed poised to return to the Arab fold: The Arab League looked likely to reconsider its membership; and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi even declared he would be prepared to send a shipment of weapons to help the regime fight the rebels. • Some believe the US space program should emphasize climate change research. If there is no overall increase in space spending, there will be less money for, among other things, defending American assets in space.
• Brandon Weichert of The Weichert Report said in an interview with Gatestone that there might be a move to “staff the Space Force with people inimical to its mission.”

Many months ago, Agudath Israel proudly announced that some of its key members had been appointed by various Governors as members of the reopening task force. In New York, Governor Cuomo appointed Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, and in New Jersey, Governor Murphy appointed both Avi Schnall and Dr. David Freidman (CEO of CHEMED). Lest one think that that these governors needed Agudah’s input on how to safely reopen the state, one needn’t look further than what actually transpired in NY, where Agudah has filed a lawsuit against Governor Cuomo… twice! In reality, these appointments were just access points to our communities and the governors knew that Agudah would be a good lackey. Every public health handbook is replete with tactics on gaining the trust of minority groups and religious communities and focuses much attention on harnessing trusted voices within the community. What we are looking at here are these naïve players just engaging in their role.

MK Gideon Sa’ar of the Likud party visited the communities of Amichai and Shilo, in the Binyamin region, on Sunday. The focus of his visit was on ongoing attempts by the Palestinian Authority to seize control over open areas near Israeli settlements.

Following his tour, Sa’ar told his hosts, “I was very impressed by what I saw today in Amichai, but especially by the pioneering spirit that you are exhibiting here, after many years during which no new settlements were established in Judea or Samaria. This is the way in which we need to pursue and expand settlement.”

Iraqi Officials Have Already Visited Jerusalem

JaFaJ Intelligence has confirmed that senior Iraqi officials have been engaged in peace talks with their Israeli counterparts for over a month. The talks, from the Iraqi side, involved senior official from the Prime Minister’s office, and are being facilitated under direct supervision of Jared Kushner, the President’s Middle East Advisor.

Iraqi sources have also confirmed that peace with Israel was one of the key reasons behind the Iraqi Prime Minister’s visit to Washington DC and his meeting with President Trump in August 2020.

Dispelling myths: Same-sex attraction is less prevalent than we think, can be environmentally influenced and is often not immutable.Op-ed.

When sex is the passion, it’s hard to be dispassionate. Adding religion and LGB to the mix creates heat that leads to distorted facts and overgeneralized thinking. Myths become accepted truths, especially if they support the popular zeitgeist.

For example, a 2015 study in Social and Policy Issues reported that the American public believes 23% of Americans are LGB. The correct figure: A 2017 Gallup poll found 4.5% identified as LGBT and a 2019 study of sexual orientation in 28 nations in Archives of Sexual Behavior found figures as low as 1.5%.

Another myth enshrined as fact is that choice never plays a role in any LGB person’s behavior, period. Therefore, parents’ sexual orientation can have no effect on their children. Rabbi Benny Lau’s compassionate “guide” for the religious LGBT community endorsed this belief. According to Rabbi Lau the religious community should not “fear” that including LGBT families will cause people to “drift” or be confused about their identity, as reality shows that no man or woman voluntarily chooses this tendency.
