43% Of All U.S. COVID-19 Deaths Come From 0.6% Of The Population

By Eric A. Blair, GATEWAY PUNDIT May 28, 2020

In a fascinating new analysis published by Forbes, the researchers find data that supports what The Gateway Pundit has been saying for ages: COVID-19 is very dangerous to the elderly — especially in nursing homes — but not so much for everyone else.

Some 2.1 million Americans, which represents just 0.62% of the U.S. population, live in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. “According to an analysis that Gregg Girvan and I conducted for the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity, as of May 22, in the 39 states that currently report such figures, an astounding 43% of all COVID-19 deaths have taken place in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.”

That’s nearly half of all deaths.

Phyllis Chesler on the Fight against Honor Killings

by Gary C. Gambill, MEFORUM

Phyllis Chesler, a Shillman-Ginsburg Fellow at the Middle East Forum, emerita professor of psychology and women’s studies, and the author of eighteen books, spoke to participants in a May 18 Middle East Forum webinar (video) about the barbaric practice of honor killing and how to combat it.

Honor killing is the “cold blooded murder of girls and women by their families of origin.” In a “shame and honor tribal culture, … a girl’s virginity and reproductive capacity, her fertility, are owned by her family, literally. Not by the girl herself. She represents their honor,” Chesler explained. “If a girl is seen as damaged goods, her family will then be responsible … no one will marry their other children or deal with them economically. They’ll be shunned.” The only way the family can “cleanse themselves of this shame [is] with blood – her blood.”

The list of offenses that can trigger an honor killing is long, including engaging in sex outside of marriage, refusing an arranged marriage, marrying outside of one’s religious sect or cast, having infidel friends, and becoming too Westernized. Since the aim is to recapture family honor, not punishment, it matters little whether the accusations are true. In rare cases where honor killers are prosecuted, according to Chesler, “they claim that they’re only acting in self-defense, that communal norms drove them to it.”

Netanyahu: Israeli cabinet won’t vote on Palestinian statehood

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presents Israel’s new government to Knesset, May 17, 2020

Israel’s government won’t vote on the issue of Palestinian statehood or on the entirety of the US Donald Trump’s peace plan, Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu told the Hebrew daily Makor Rishon in an interview published Friday.

He clarified for the paper, that he planned to solely bring the topic of sovereignty to the cabinet and the Knesset for a vote, as dictated under the terms of his coalition agreement with the Blue and White party led by Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz.

The paper asked Netanyahu, who has plans to bring the issue of sovereignty to a vote as early as July, “would the government decision on sovereignty include the topic of Palestinian statehood?”

Netanyahu: Palestinian Arabs living in Jordan Valley won’t get citizenship

Netanyahu rejects criticism from the right that he folded on the issue of a Palestinian state.

By Elad Benari, INN

Prime Minister Netanyahu

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the Israel Hayom newspaper in an interview published on Thursday that a move to apply Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley would be historical, dismissing criticism from the oppositional right that he folded on the issue of a Palestinian state.

“For the first time since the establishment of the state, I’ve managed to secure American recognition [of our sovereignty rights], first on the Golan Heights and in Jerusalem, and then through an agreement that will facilitate American recognition in the areas of our homeland inside Judea and Samaria. These are [US President Donald] Trump’s decisions, and the person who broached these matters with him was me. No one else,” said Netanyahu.

Asked about the argument from the oppositional right that a Palestinian state is hidden in Trump’s package, Netanyahu replied, “Within this package is a historic opportunity for changing the tide of history, which was pointing one way. The whole time. All the diplomatic plans proposed to us in the past asked us to concede swathes of the Land of Israel, return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem. To take in [Palestinian] refugees. This is a reversal. We aren’t the ones being forced to make concessions, rather the Palestinians are. Regardless of negotiations.”

Plot Against Flynn Aimed To Cripple Trump’s Moves To Undermine Res 2334 Pushed by Obama

By BENNY AVNI, Special to the Sun | May 27, 2020

As Attorney General Barr and General Michael Flynn battle in court to rescind the general’s guilty plea, a deeper look deserves to be taken at the phone conversations that underlay the controversy. The calls were, in part, meant to protect the incoming administration from an effort to cripple the Mideast policy on which Mr. Trump campaigned for office.

The effort to cripple Mr. Trump’s Mideast policy centered, in large part, on the UN Security Council’s Resolution 2334. There is a good account of this by Lee Smith, writing in Tablet Magazine. The resolution was designed to undercut Israel’s claims to Jerusalem. The general, in his guilty plea, claimed that he misled FBI agents when he told them that “on or about December 22 (2016), Flynn did not ask the Russian Ambassador to delay the vote on or defeat a pending United Nations Security Council resolution.”

Yet Mr. Flynn was absolutely right to undermine the resolution. Security Council resolution 2334 was widely seen as Mr. Obama’s parting shot against Benjamin Netanyahu. Mr. Obama was still fuming over the fact that Mr. Netanyahu had publicly denounced Mr. Obama’s articles of appeasement with Iran. Mr. Netanyahu saw the Iran deal as a threat to Israel. He marked the point memorably in his third speech to a joint meeting of Congress.

Fearing coronavirus spike, some Arab Gulf states turn to a supposed enemy: Israel

By Noga Tarnopolsky and Nabih Bulos, Los Angeles Times

JERUSALEM — With fears of a second wave of coronavirus infections looming, some Arab Gulf nations have turned for help to an ostensible enemy and a country they don’t officially recognize: Israel.Call it COVID-19 diplomacy, according to Yoel Har-Even, head of the international division at Tel Aviv’s Sheba Medical Center, one of Israel’s top medical institutions. The hospital has received inquiries about services and treatments from private individuals and businessmen from countries where “you have to have official permission to reach out” to Israel.Har-Even said those nations include Bahrain and Indonesia — which do not have diplomatic ties with Israel — and a few majority-Muslim countries that do recognize Israel, such as Jordan, Egypt and Azerbaijan. He also did not dispute numerous Israeli media reports that have put the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait on the list as well.

“COVID-19 has served us well,” he said in an interview. “I wouldn’t say that attitudes have changed in the past 70 days, but we’ve definitely received more and more approaches from different places.”

Yamina’s great opportunity to seize the reins

Now in the opposition, the national-religious faction is uniquely positioned to significantly advance the cause of legal reform.

By Caroline B. Glick, ISRAEL HAYOM

The first casualty of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to form a governing coalition with left-leaning Defense Minister and Blue and White Party head Benny Gantz was Yamina. The five members of the ideological right-wing, national religious party were the odd men out. With his Likud party members braying for senior ministries, Netanyahu was unable to satisfy Yamina’s demands.

But there are advantages to being in the opposition. The coalition deal Netanyahu signed with Gantz massively constrains the freedom of coalition members to advance legislation. As a party in the opposition, Yamina lawmakers suffer no such constraints.

The media circus that accompanied the opening of Netanyahu’s criminal trial this week along with the Supreme Court’s scandalous decision to bar the IDF from carrying out the government’s order to destroy the home of the terrorist who murdered Dvir Sorek last summer both served to reinforce the urgent need to overhaul Israel’s legal system.

Raised in Unreality

This is another in a series of children’s propagandist story books distributed to libraries nationwide and in other countries, another facet of the many war strategies used against the west, overtly about Israel, but covertly about changing opinions and accepting Islam.  The facade of victimhood is usually at play; one need only be alert to recognize how it’s employed.

by Tabitha Korol

Tasting the Sky, by Ibtisam Barakat, is a story told through the memories of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Ramallah, West Bank, the heartland of Biblical Israel and known through the centuries as Samaria.  it is categorized to be read by Middle Graders, ages 6 and up, who know nothing of the region’s history.   Without guidance, analysis and clarification, they would conclude that Israel is the interloper and Palestinians the natives, and by extension, western civilization is evil.  This is Islamic indoctrination, inappropriate for distribution.

It begins with a sketchy historical note that the conflict over the State of Israel, the background of the story, continues to this day, but the conflict’s origin is ignored.  For over fourteen centuries, Arabs have been following Mohammed’s decrees by attacking and slaughtering the Jews within the land and brutalizing Christians, Romans, Persians, Ethiopians, Berbers, Turks, Visigoths, Franks, Egyptians, Indians, and more, elsewhere.  Unable to deny 1400 years of Jewish presence in the land, the Arabs embellish the discord with lies of shared history, prophets, and archaeology.  But the land has only ever been the ancestral homeland of the Jews, who reestablished their national independence in Israel after 2,000 years, its legality endorsed by the United Nations, in 1948.  Israel also received the recognition of Yusaf Diya al-Khaldi Mayor of Jerusalem (1899), Lord Robert Cecil (1918), Emir Faisal, leader of the Arab World (1919); and Sir Winston Churchill (1920).

Israel’s Supreme Court Does it Again

by Victor Rosenthal

In August of last year, Dvir Sorek, an 18-year old yeshiva student walking near Migdal Oz in the Gush Etzion region was set upon by two terrorists acting on behalf of Hamas. He was brutally stabbed to death (do I need to add “brutally” to “stabbed to death?”)

The murderers, and three others who helped plan and prepare the attack, were quickly located and arrested. Four of them immediately confessed. After they were indicted, the IDF informed the families of the four that their homes would be demolished. The families petitioned the Supreme Court to prevent the demolition, but the petitions were denied, and in November, the homes were demolished.

Home demolitions are controversial. But most observers believe that the policy is effective in restraining potential terrorists, even suicide terrorists. And some 90% of Jewish Israelis support the policy.

Death of a dogma? After annexation, world likely to abandon two-state paradigm

Process may take years, but officials and analysts accusing Israel of killing option for future Palestinian state have started calling for a unitary state with equal rights for all

By RAPHAEL AHREN, TOI

For years, Israeli officials have insisted that reports of the death of the two-state solution are greatly exaggerated, and that the option of a Palestinian state is still alive, despite ongoing settlement expansions. Now, many proponents of a two-state solution are worried that Israel’s planned unilateral annexation of large parts of the West Bank would bury that possibility once and for all.

Advocates of an Israeli annexation, on the other hand, say the move, if carried out in accordance to the US peace plan, would actually advance a “realistic two-state solution.”Either way, an Israeli annexation as envisioned by the deal of the century is likely to erode the international consensus behind the two-state paradigm, and may cause the world to start backing the idea of a unitary state in which Israelis and Palestinians enjoy equal rights. Can annexation be undone?

Opponents of Israel’s sovereignty plan express pessimism that it can be reversed if approved.

With West Bank annexation appearing to be almost a certainty, its opponents have looked for a ray of hope in day-after scenarios, as they ponder whether a Knesset sovereignty vote can be reversed.

For two leading left-wing attorneys, that chance seems slim to nonexistent, both for legal and geopolitical reasons, unless it comes within the context of a major peace agreement between Israelis and Palestinians.

“I cannot imagine reversing annexation without a comprehensive agreement. I do believe that annexation is reversible, but in a framework of an alternative permanent-status agreement,” said attorney Michael Sfard, who often represents the left-wing groups Peace Now and Yesh Din in cases before the High Court of Justice.

INTO THE FRAY: A choreographed coup—with the law as a prop

It is imperative to restore the judiciary to its duly assigned place in a properly functioning democracy-adjudicating, not legislating.

By Dr. Martin Sherman,

Israel's Supreme Court
Israel’s Supreme Court

A recent Wall Street Journal opinion piece by Kimberley-Strassel was depressingly reminiscent of events currently taking place in Israel—at least in principle if not in detail. The overall theme of article was the (ab)use of the nation’s law enforcement bodies for political ends. Thus, Strassel cites the words of Attorney General William Barr, writing “…there have been increasing attempts to use the criminal-justice system as a political weapon.”

A carefully crafted coup

Sadly, this appears to be very much the case today in Israel as well

Thus on Sunday, after months–even years–of preparation and cultivation of public opinion, of media buzz, of prejudicial punditry, and pretrial rehearsals, the curtain finally went up on the long-awaited performance with the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s appearance in the Jerusalem District Court on charges of breach of trust, fraud and corruption

The Remains of an Administration

Obama’s policies are in tatters, and the worst scandals of his White House are coming to light.

By VICTOR DAVIS HANSON, NATIONAL REVIEW

“One is not struck by the truth until prompted quite accidentally by some external event.”   Kazuo Ishiguro, The Remains of the Day

Each day that the Obama administration fades into the past, its wrongdoings manage to wander back into the present.

After years of suppression, all sorts of strange events keep popping up to remind us of what little is left of the Obama years —

  • the Susan Rice memo,
  • Christopher Steele deleting his computer records,
  • FBI-doctored and lost 302s,
  • text messages wiped clean,
  • the bizarre Obama January 5, 2017, Oval Office meeting,
  • the ambush interview of Michael Flynn,
  • the unmasking and leaking of redacted names swept up in reverse-targeting surveillance operations,
  • the administration fraud perpetrated on the FISA courts.

Iran Presents the “Final Solution” – to the Question of Palestine

By Lt.-Col. (ret.) Michael Segall, JCPA

Women make T-shaped gesture

Women make T-shaped gesture in message to U.S.: You send your soldiers to the region standing up, and they will come back lying in coffins.

  • Iran has been celebrating International Quds (Jerusalem) Day on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan since Ayatollah Khomeini began the observance in 1979, to express Muslim yearning for the “liberation of Jerusalem” and the “restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.”
  • Khomeini’s doctrine – “The destruction of Zionism and the ‘Zionist entity’ (Israel) is the basic condition for solving the contemporary problems of Islam” and liberating Palestine – continues to resonate and to guide even the second and third generations of the Islamic revolution, a sort of eternal precept that brooks no deviation, questioning, or disagreement and that one must strive constantly and actively to fulfill.
  • According to this doctrine, the ongoing struggle against Israel and the United States is not a separate phenomenon but part of the centuries-old battle against Western arrogance, domineering, and imperialism, which implanted the “Zionist entity” in the heart of the Muslim domain.

The trial begins. A guide to the trial of Israel’s Prime Minister

The efforts to unseat Netanyahu failed at the polls. Will they succeed in court? Three cases about gifts and media coverage. Opinion.

By Barry Shaw

When Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in the Jerusalem District Court on Sunday May 24th it made political history.

Israel has had no shortage of leaders who have been proven corrupt.

An Israeli President was sent to prison when Moshe Katzav was sentenced to seven years on rape charges.

Ehud Olmert resigned as Prime Minister to stand trial on charges of bribery and breach of trust both as mayor of Jerusalem and later as Prime Minister. He was sentenced to 27 months on fraud charges and was discharged from prison after serving just sixteen months.

WASHINGTON — Palestinian Authority official Husam Zomlot  decried Democratic candidate Joe Biden on Tuesday for not taking a strong enough stance against Israel’s proposed annexation of parts of the West Bank.

Zomlot, the PLO’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and a former envoy in Washington, argued that Biden’s unwillingness to threaten harsh consequences for Israel should Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extend sovereignty to the West Bank settlements enables him to move forward with his plan.

“We are not seeing any new sort of policy lever on the part of the Biden campaign that would actually help in the changing of the calculus,” Zomlot said on a Zoom call organized by the US-based Israel Policy Forum, a nonprofit that supports a two-state solution. “So far, it’s nothing that would actually dissuade Netanyahu from going ahead with annexation.”
