Peloni:  This adds to the report made several days ago by Mudar Zahran regarding Syria’s involvement in dismantling Hezbollah.  Such coordination provides both important opportunities and worrisome concerns with regards tackling Hezbollah, a Shiite terror organization which stands as a common enemy to both Syria/Turkey and Israel.  Ultimately, this will further add to Turkey’s regional influence, if not an outright expansion of its already too well expanded empire, while also earning it a greater threat and forward access towards Israel, something which should call to mind Erdogan’s so often repeated goal of conquering Israel.

Israel is weighing partial security coordination with Syria amid Lebanon’s failure to rein in Hezbollah, potentially overseeing southern Lebanon while Syria handles the north; the Syrian Hermon may be returned, with talks, direct or U.S.-mediated, seen as a last-resort option.

Hezbollah appears to be keenly listening to recent Israeli reports that indicate the IDF will not be able to disarm the Iranian-backed terrorist group.

These reports began circulating in the media on Friday and have continued to percolate.

A candid and increasingly frustrated Arabic-language commentary by Khaled Hassan, a National Security & Foreign Policy Expert and Council Member of Israeli President’s Voice of the People Initiative, has been circulating in Egyptian political circles, and its message is as striking as it is revealing. Hassan — proud of his heritage, proud of his nation’s storied civilization — poses a deceptively simple question to the Egyptian government, its elites, and its people: What do Egyptians actually want?

Peloni: Two C130s were lost during Sunday’s rescue of the second airman. See footage below the All Israel News article which shows the remains of these downed planes after US forces targeted them to prevent them falling into the hands of the Iranians.

Note additionally, the second plane that went down on Friday, an A-10 Warthog attack plane, was lost while coordinating with ongoing rescue attempts to secure the safe return of the two airmen from the downed F-15E.

Confirmed!!! We got him! Second Airman rescued!
This sounds like one hell of a battle. Evidently they knew where he was since he was first shot down but we had to fight our way to him.

It is clearer by the day that Ahmed al-Sharaa is still an Islamic jihadi, and that his supporters know that and approve of it. So how long will Trump continue to support him?

The Demonstration of U.S. and Israeli Military Superiority Has Not Yet Produced a Positive, Victorious Outcome from the Israeli and American Point of View

The current round of fighting between Israel, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran appears to have reached a stalemate. On the one hand, Iran is being pummelled by US and Israeli air power, against which it can mount no effective defense. At the same time, the demonstration of US and Israeli military superiority has not, until now at least, produced a positive, victorious outcome from the Israeli and American point of view.

Peloni:  As Iraqi Shia militia’s move to support Iran in the current war, the political crisis at home remains.  The choice of a new leadership continues to stand as a political contest between America and Iran, with Iraq’s future weighing in the balance.  Will the political deadlock be maintained or will a political coalition finally come to be formed.  Both the political and military stability of Iraq stand in the shadow of Iran’s power projection, making the outcome of the current war significantly relevant to the Iraq’s ability to choose its own government.  So, while Iran is still able to assemble its military arms in Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq, the coming vote will show us if Iran still maintains its leverage over the political process in Iraq, or if there has been a shift due to current events, making the April 11 vote a litmus test of Iranian power in Iraq.  Was this relevant in Trump choosing a deadline of April 6 for Iran to agree to his terms?

Peloni:  Notably, America’s traditional European partners have been dissembling themselves for sometime now, ignoring realities of defense while simultaneously calling for greater involvement in the Ukraine War.  The current blunder of disregarding the threat from Iran, both the threat of its missile development as well as its threat over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, reinforces Europe’s eagerness to maintain policies which are antithetical to their own interests.  To what purpose might a military alliance serve when partnering with nations which consistently ignore its own vital interests, both in their own region, and in the Middle East.  Furthermore, their attempts to block America dealing with the threats from China and Iran have demonstrated that Europe is not only ignoring their own security interests, but also leveraging their influence to force America to do the same.

During his two terms as president of the United States, Donald Trump made it clear to our long-time traditional allies in Europe that America would no longer do all the heavy lifting financially or otherwise. Now, with the military conflict with Iran continuing to rage on, the president is back at it again. He’s not happy with some of those so-called “friends” of America. Increasingly, the president is turning to Gulf states as trusted allies and partners. More on that in a moment.
