In an important recap of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) revelations, journalist Margaret Flavin reports on an audit of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as discussed in a recent interview with Vice President JD Vance. Flavin’s article, “Vice President Vance Underscores Reports of Massive Waste and Corruption in Foreign Aid (Video),” posted on Gateway Pundit, June 29, 2025. The results of the audit reveal that only 12% of the money allocated to USAID for aid arrives at its destination! How is this possible?

This is what Success Looks Like!

If you are watching it go down slackjawed, observing the passing scene, knowing that the world has gone bonkers, batsh-t crazy if you will, you are correct.

If you’ve been reading these pages, you already know that what’s up is down, and what’s in is out. You’ll understand that it is not a dystopian world as the left would portray it in their moment of losing it all. It is rather, a painful labor, the rebirth of a golden age and a golden nation descending upon us. The left’s acknowledgement of these facts, having been marinated in their media and propaganda, is immaterial.

Ben Gvir & Smotrich threaten gov’t, opposition offers safety net as Israel advances toward another Gaza ceasefire

Peloni:  This is a very worrisome report.  Netanyahu has recently stated that Hamas will surrender or be destroyed, but this and other reports suggest a far less resolved commitment towards achieving complete all the war aims, even suggesting that Netanyahu would move towards his Leftist opposition while jettisoning Ben Gvir and Smotrich.

Smotrich denies reports of cooperation with former ally

With reports of negotiations advancing toward a ceasefire and a final end to the Gaza War, the Israeli government is once again in turmoil as its right flank has declared its opposition to the reported terms of the potential agreement.

Are You Upset With Trump?

By Walter E. Block and Oded J.K. Faran

Taped to a pole at Harvard University, “Resist F-Elon Trump at Harvard University”.  (By Chad Davis from Minneapolis, United States – Resist F-Elon Trump at Harvard University, CC BY 2.0, Wikipedia)

There are a lot of people now upset with President Donald Trump. They are rioting in the streets in Los Angeles over ICE enforcement actions. Some 12,000 graduates of Harvard have now signed on to an amicus brief defending their school against what they perceive as the devastations of that monster, Trump. Russia and Ukraine remain locked in conflict despite his promise to end that conflagration in a day or so.  Ditto for the Middle East; still no peace there either.

Syria’s Sharaa makes moves toward Abraham Accords to reduce Turkish influence

Peloni:  Securing radicals in suits such as Shaara in positions of dominance to secure peace deals begs the question as to whether the threat from having a unconfirmed, supposedly reformed, Jihadist on Israel’s northern flank is worth the potential of his turn from the dark side being sincere.  Notably as he used Turkey to gain control of Syria, is he just using the Americans to consolidate power in Syria?  Changing ideologies and political backers seems to be as nuanced to him as his change of name from Jolani to Shaara.  Hence, the question remains, whether Jolani-turned-Shaara will find his true North to be Jihadism or moderation when he finds he no longer needs to play the chameleon to suit his political needs.  Tomorrow’s misfortune is being planted in today’s political soil.  Moderates, not an Oslo-like wannabe, is the character of men which should be chosen to lead the region to a more passive future.  Planting radicals inside the wire of the Abraham Accords will only serve to undermine the safety and security of the coming generation, as took place under the Oslo framework.  Terrorists such as Jolani do not deserve our trust, and his actions since coming to power have certainly not lent themselves to suggesting otherwise.  The innocent will fill the butcher’s bill of making an Oslo like mistake out of an interest of political convenience today.

By strengthening ties with Israel, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is essentially trying to reduce Turkish influence in Damascus, Tel Aviv University’s Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies’s Dr. Hay Eytan Cohen Yanarocak told Maariv on Wednesday.

The Hamas Addiction

Peloni:  So what is the plan for the day after, afterall?

Seth Frantzman

When we hear claims of the IDF controlling “65%” of Gaza it seems like a lot? Until you realize it’s mostly open areas and suburbs that were already captured and cleared a year ago. Most urban areas are controlled by Hamas, including the central camps and Gaza city; and they have mostly been controlled by Hamas for 21 months of war, 636 days.

From Israel: Balancing the Bitter and the Sweet!!

Peloni:  Arlene captures the mix of joy and frustration from the 12 Day War, along with the apprehension for what is to come next.

Arlene Kushner | July 2, 2025

The need for this balancing act is a simple fact of life. But our current situation has thrown this reality into sharp relief.

On June 24th, after 12 days of fighting, our war with Iran ended. Or, perhaps more accurately, it “sort of” ended: In the opinion of many, the ending was premature. Trump declared a ceasefire while our planes were in the air headed for an attack on Iranian military targets – an attack that never took place.

Surprise, deception, warning and war

Peloni:  Lessons by which success and survival are pursued.

Like the 1967 Six-Day War, the conflict with Iran relied heavily on air power, surprise, denial and deception.

A B-2 Spirit stealth bomber returns to Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., after completing a forward deployment to Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory, May 9, 2025. The deployment, which lasted several weeks, was part of a routine Bomber Task Force mission designed to project U.S. global power and strengthen partnerships with regional allies. While stationed at Diego Garcia, the B-2 and its supporting aircrew conducted strategic deterrence missions, long-range training sorties and integration exercises with joint and coalition forces. All warfare is based on deception. Offer the enemy a bait to lure him. … Be seen in the West and march out of the East; lure him in the North and strike him in the South. Drive him crazy and bewilder him so that he disperses his forces in confusion.

Congress and the Antisemitism Crisis

An indifference that allows Jew-hate to grow in the dark.

by

The civil rights scholar Kenneth Marcus has just appeared before a Congressional committee hearing on “America’s Battle Against Antisemitic Terror.” His testimony on the seemingly inexorable rise of violent antisemitism across the land is blood-curdling. More about Marcus, and his plea for congressional action, together with chilling examples of antisemitism, can be found here: “Jewish Civil Rights Scholar Urges US Congress to Respond to Antisemitism Crisis,” by Dion J. Pierre, Algemeiner, June 27, 2025:

Ukraine Mess: Finding a Way Forward

Peloni:  This is an important article.  Ukraine has always faced an impossible future as it has no path towards victory due to its deficiencies in men, morale & munitions, yet it has a govt which will settle for nothing less than complete victory.  This latter point has driven Ukraine to tempt fate, before February 2022 and ever since.  Of course, Bryen’s proposals are good starting points from which Trump might gain some interest from Putin, but the threats which prevented Zelensky from pursuing a more moderate course throughout his presidency has not been abated, making any effort towards, or in compliance with, Bryen’s proposals quite hazardous to consider.  As Ukraine is approaching its last act in the days, weeks, or months to come, it will take real courage from a real leader to save Ukraine from its current path of destruction, and if Zelensky had such courage and skill to make such choices, we would have to ask why we are where we are today.

Stephen Bryen | Weapons & Strategy | Jul 04, 2025

The recent massive bombings on Ukrainian territory and advances by the Russian army are harbingers of the end game that will befall Ukraine unless that country can find a way out. One solution is to make Ukraine a flexible actor, meaning to insulate Zelensky. The best way to do that is a coalition government to carry the burden of negotiations with Russia.

Palestinian state: advancing or undermining US interests?

Peloni:  An important analysis which looks at US interests as the driving force for what should be US policy in preventing the creation of another Palestinian Arab state.

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative” | July 3, 2025

The US position on the proposed Palestinian state – just like on any other issue – should be driven by US interests, and not by pro-Israel or pro-Arab sentiments, nor by an honest broker state of mind.

Would a Palestinian state advance, or undermine, US interests?

Dismantling the Settler Violence Narrative: Facts the Media Won’t Tell You

Peloni:  The focused effort to delegitimize the hilltop youth movement, along with recent audio recordings demonstrating the weaponization of the law against these activists, should call into question the recent rush to judgement against the hilltop youths.  Prosecution, not persecution, should be the limit and expectation of the law, and nothing more or less.

“Redemptive Antisemitism” aims to rid the world of Israel and all Jews

There is no Jewish conspiracy to dominate the world, but there is a widespread global anti-Jewish conspiracy based on the principles of “Redemptive Antisemitism”.

We are witnessing the rebirth of Nazi era inspired “Redemptive Antisemitism” which believes that all the world’s problems are solved by exterminating and purifying humanity through annihilating Jews everywhere.

All you have to do is listen to the chants at the Glastonbury Festival, preceded by thousands of anti-Israel Jew-haters who demonstrate on the campuses of American Universities or on the streets of major urban cities everywhere in the United States. The very same slogans were shouted out by an illegal Egyptian Muslim immigrant as he attacked Jews in Boulder Colorado with flame blowers and fire bombs, one of whom died of her wounds this week, and by a leftist extremist as he shot point blank and murdered two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D. C. as they were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum.

Syria wants 1/3 of Golan Heights for Israel peace – exclusive

Peloni:  Al Jolani proposes that Israel return either 1/3 or 2/3 of Golan for peace deal.  Israel should counter this offer with a proposal of Syria giving Israel 1/3 of Syria, in deference to the Syrian minorities which Israel is protecting from being annihilated by Jolani’s forces.
