EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Ten months after the surprise attack by Hamas on October 7, it is possible to assess the strategic achievements of the antagonists. In addition to inflicting heavy casualties and many wounded on the Israelis, Hamas succeeded in undermining Israeli society and causing divisions within it on the issue of the hostages. Hamas also succeeded in undermining Israel’s international status. Israel’s economic situation has been severely damaged and continues to deteriorate. Hamas brought the Palestinian issue back to center stage as a condition for a regional settlement, and recruited the Iranian proxies, mainly Hezbollah and the Houthis, for a war of attrition against Israel.
Everyone knows that if Israel were to have unleashed its full might, this war with Hamas would have been over not in six months, not in six weeks, not in six days (there is precedence for that), not even in six hours.

He has been visiting many countries, and reports that this sad state of affairs has occurred not only in Arab lands but in many other places as well. For example, he approvingly quotes Shekhar Gupta, an editor of the Indian newspaper ThePrint as follows: “Netanyahu’s war is damaging Israel’s greatest asset: the widely held belief in … the justness of its mission.”

Events may have overtaken Biden’s now widely known cognitive issues. What you can readily take away from past assassination attempts is the empathy factor. None of the major networks (except Fox) regularly carry Trump rallies. This is likely to change after the near assassination of President Trump. Merely the optics of Trump, wounded but defiant, standing beneath an American flag and railing against a lone gunman, already dead but who thought he would rid the planet of Trump, is a harbinger of a November win.
By that act, Thomas Matthew Crooks will be recorded by history in one of several ways: misguided, crazy, a true believer, or perhaps even as a dedicated soldier of the progressive Left.

The Progressives, as I have often predicted, have so vilified Donald Trump as a danger to democracy that it was almost inevitable that somewhere, sometimes, a true believer would self-activate to try to take Trump out. They tried and failed, and Trump lives! The attempted assassin, supposedly a 20-year-old white male named Thomas Matthew Crooks, was a registered Republican. However, a short video surfaced of a fellow claiming he was Thomas Matthew Crooks, adding: “I hate Trump, I hate Republicans, and guess what, you got the wrong man!” And yet, there he lies DRT, on a rooftop in Butler, Pa., but not before he got his shots off. It is probable that the short video, allegedly made by Crooks, was misinformation, a prerecorded effort to confuse the investigation. The issue of the shooter’s true identity needs to be clarified, and that can be accomplished by bringing the person on the video up on the stage for all to see. Any bets?

The Lebanese Hezbollah organisation has in recent days carried out the largest drone and missile attacks on northern Israel since the latest round of hostilities commenced on October 8.

I recently visited with the new IDF Panther battalion created specifically to deal with the growing threat of Hamas and other jihadist groups on Israel’s seam line, the boundary between the northern West Bank (Samaria) and Israel’s narrow waistline, only nine miles to the Mediterranean Sea.
The seam line is part of the 1949 Armistice line (Green Line or 1967 line) that runs north to south on the western border of the West Bank, close to Israel’s major coastal cities, including Tel Aviv. Two large Palestinian cities, Tulkarm and Kalkilya, are on the seam line.

The left has finally gotten what it has longed for since Donald Trump announced his first candidacy for president in 2015: a bloodied Trump being led off a stage. But they didn’t get what they want most of all, for he is still alive.
Early Saturday evening, Donald Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when shots rang out. Trump turned, grabbed his ear, and then ducked behind the podium as Secret Service agents rushed to surround him. Moments later, he stood up and was being ushered quickly off the stage when he stopped the agents, saying: “Wait!” Then, his face bloodied, he raised his fist in defiance and said to the crowd, “Fight!”

Peloni: The role being played in Ukraine by the US has been one which has literally destabilized all of Europe, challenged supply chains, exacerbated failing economic policies, and achieved none of the designed objectives intended, namely the defeat of Russia, the recapture of Crimea or the regime changing of Putin. More than this, this war has demonstrated to the world American incompetence, and the limited use of American arms in direct competition with those of Russia. The threat of expansion is not only imminent, it has been evident over the past two years, as every limit of US aid to Ukraine has been routinely and repeatedly crossed and redrawn to an ever concerning level, and despite this reality, Ukraine continues to be pushed in the wrong direction in its’ campaign to “March to the Sea” and retake either Crimea or even Marioupol. This war must end. The ceding of territory to Russia must end. The uncontrolled flow of funds to Ukraine must end. The lack of competence in American leadership must end. The needless slaughter of Ukrainians and Russians must end. And yet this would take true leadership from a leader who has a true interest in peace, and for that, we will have to wait for Trump to return to the White House in another 4 months.
