Celebrate Jerusalem Day

Peloni:  The most important aspect of the San Remo Declaration was the clause recognizing the right of the Jews to reconstitute their lands, as is cited by Grunstein below and has been detailed previously by Dr. Jacques GauthierBy doing so, the same powers which created half the states of Europe and the states of Arabia certified the indigenous connection between the Jewish people and the lands of our ancestors.   As Israel is forever challenged for its right to exist by our detractors, and seemingly more so with every passing hour, we must never fail to reassert the factual basis of this truth which was, as Grunstein notes, agreed upon without any dissent by the entire world community over 100 years ago, and which, as Gauthier notes, was not disputed by the Arab representative at the time, the future King Feisal of Iraq, when he presented his claims before the Supreme Council.

The Jewish people’s right to Jerusalem and the Land of Israel is enshrined in international law.

King David declared Jerusalem the capital of his kingdom in the Land of Israel over 3,000 years ago.

Although many empires have conquered the Land of Israel over the centuries, the Jewish people never entered into any peace treaty with any conqueror that voluntarily surrendered title to the Land. Moreover, no other independent country comprising only the Land of Israel was ever established and ruled by any resident and indigenous nation other than the Jewish people. Jerusalem has only been the capital of Israel and no other nation. It should be noted that the Quran does not even mention Jerusalem.

Thinking “Palestine”

by Gerald A. Honigman

Once again the cause of creating Arab state # 22 has emerged on the center stage of world opinion. That would be the second state for Arab nationalism, not first, in the original April 25, 1920 Mandate of Palestine’s territory. As is often cited, but usually ignored, today’s Jordan was gifted with almost 80% in 1922.

Here’s a PLO executive committee member paraphrased in the above second link:

“There are no differences between Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese, and other Arabs…It is only for tactical snd political reasons that we now emphasize “Palestinian” identity in our battle to deny Zionism and Jews any rights to the land at all.”….Zuheir Mohsein, Dutch newspaper Trouw, 3/31/1977.

From the River to the Sea Israeli Sovereignty

T. Belman. Salomon Benzimra was my closest friend before making aliya. He was not legally trained but he was brilliant. He studied the writings of another Canadian, Howard Grief, a legal scholar, who made aliya and they became became friends. A few years ago,  he travelled to Israel with Goldi Steiner and Diane Bederman.

Sadly on their way back to Toronto, Salomon passed away. Goldi started an organiza Canadian’s for Israel’s Legal Rights (CILR). His book can be bought from Amazon. It is shown on the Left Column of this site. So is a book by Diane Bederman, The Serpent and the Red Thread.

He is sorely missed but his legacy lives on.

By Diane Weber Bederman    1 May 2024

In the words of the late Salomon Benzimra, author of The Jewish People’s Rights to the Land of Israel

“Tell the world there will be no negotiating until the territorial sovereignty of Israel and Judea Samaria is no longer questioned.”

The entire world shared their views on the Jews and Israel after October 7.

Do Viruses Exist?

Peloni. Despite significant efforts to put this debate to rest, the dispute over the existence of viruses persists.  Indeed, there are those who would prefer to hear no more of the challenges being made to an entire field of science, and yet those scientists and physicians who are voicing these challenges refuse to surrender their views that the field of virology has not been supportably proven as factual.  Dr. Eve Rowell, an Assistant Editor here at Israpundit and herself a retired physician, has embarked on a two article review of the perspectives which carry this debate onward, and what follows below is the first of these articles which describes the No Virus challenges.   Her summary of the views contrasting these views, and which balance the debate will be published here in the coming days.

By Eve Rowell MD    4 June 2024

This is the first of two articles on virology. This article discusses the ides of those physicians and scientists who critique the methodology used in viral research to prove the existence of viruses and who have attempted to prove that a specific virus is the cause of a specific disease or illness. In the next article I will explore criticisms made by Jeremy Hammond, an independent journalist who disagrees with those who have been critical of the methods employed by virologists.

Smotrich: The new concept led by the War Cabinet is exploding in our faces

T. Belman.  Smotrich is right as usual. Why is his party not growing in the polls?

Finance Minister comments on the fires that are raging in the north: A year ago there was a defense minister who said we would return Lebanon to the Stone Age. The time has come.

“Just a few hours ago I warned that the situation in the north is deteriorating and the security belt must move from Israel to southern Lebanon. The new concept led by the War Cabinet has been going up in flames for hours and is exploding in our faces,” Smotrich said.

“A year ago there was a defense minister who said we would return Lebanon to the Stone Age. Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Defense Minister, Mr. Chief of Staff – the time has come,” he added.

Fauci Was NOT in Charge of Covid Policy. The National Security Council Was.

Peloni:  Finally, somebody is asking the right question…if only they were in a position to have their question answered…

Here’s the question they should be asking Fauci, but never will: Who was actually in charge, and why?

Debbie Lerman | Debbie Lerman’s Substack | June 3, 2024

So much excitement surrounds the questioning of Dr. Anthony Fauci under oath about the Covid pandemic response. Again. And he evades, and prevaricates, and avoids taking responsibility. Again.

And, once again, nobody asks the crucial questions.

When Fauci, former head of NIAID and the public face of the U.S. government’s Covid pandemic response, says the 6 ft social distancing rule “just sort of appeared” — doesn’t anybody wonder: WHERE DID IT APPEAR FROM?

Biden’s secret support for Iran America is far from Israel’s best friend

Peloni:  Siegel provides an excellent review of the American Realignment towards Iran and against Israel and the attempts to mask this as being in the interest of Israel rather than in the interest of Iran.

Jacob Siegel | UNHERD | June 4, 2024

This past Memorial Day, as Americans honoured their war dead, the Biden administration was running interference for an Iranian regime whose Supreme Leader has described “death to America” as his official state policy. A report in the day’s Wall Street Journal described how the US was “pressing European allies to back off plans to rebuke Iran for advances in its nuclear programme”. This followed a confidential report by the International Atomic Energy Agency that assessed Iran has increased its stockpile of enriched uranium to more than 30 times the limit set in the 2015 nuclear deal — enough to produce three to four nuclear weapons within a week, according to experts.

Columbia University alumnus snubs alma mater, donates $260M to Israeli university

Peloni:  I could not be more pleased to read this report.  Indeed, this is a very important victory over the Leftist manufacturing centers which used to be described as America’s educational system which replaces education with “media literacy”.  Importantly, education is the tie which binds the present to the future, and the anonymous donor’s impressive gesture recognizing Bar Ilan’s commitment to promoting Western values and the Zionist ethos will serve the future generations well.   Additionally, the purposeful disclosure of the donor’s ties to the radically infested Columbia University will likewise serve the present well, as it will apply an economic pressure upon the Woke failed institutions whose policies have been corrupted by an ideology which is altogether un-American and anti-Western in both its nature and its effect.  The loss of educational competence in the US is just one more facet of the failure of the American experiment as it has become more and more captured by foreign influences which are specifically intent upon unveiling the complete collapse of American society, and the implosion of the educational process is among the most important aspects of this collapse.  Indeed, the corruption of the American education system will be seen to be the greatest of  all handicaps in America’s fight to regain the greatness for which America was once renowned.

David Friedman: The only solution is sovereignty in Judea and Samaria

Peloni: Take note of the following revelation:  “The number two guy in the NSC, advising on the Middle East, is a guy by the name of Maher Bitar, he is one of the founders of Students for Justice in Palestine.”

So while the Democratic funders funded the antisemitic mob protests which were carried out across the US by organizations such as the SJP, one of the founders of this terror supporting organization held the second highest position in the US intelligence organization which coordinates US policy across the US govt.  Note further the fact that an Iranian influence operator was exposed in the higher echelons of the Pentagon where she still remains, and that the person who initially brought her into the US govt was none other than Robert Malley who has recently been reported to have been suspended after he downloaded classified material and which may have been shared with people outside of the US govt.  The relevance of these intimate ties between Washington and Iran/Iranian proxies can not be overlooked or underestimated, as antisemitic attacks on campuses across the US are condoned and anti-Israel policies are promoted.

Former US Ambassador to Israel says the US must help Israel apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and makes a surprising revelation about the White House’s decision-making: ‘Advising on the Middle East, is Maher Bitar, one of the founders of Students for Justice in Palestine.’

David Friedman at the Jerusalem Conference  Haim Twito

Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Chairman of the Jerusalem Conference in New York, sat down on Sunday for a special interview at the Arutz Sheva-Israel National News Jerusalem Conference in New York City.

Friedman started by discussing his new One Jewish State project, which opposes a two-state solution and seeks to work with Israel to find an alternative solution. “After October 7th, the first time I heard Joe Biden say ‘We need a two-state solution,’ I thought that we have to respond immediately. This is so tone-deaf. Read more…

Sleepwalking toward WWIII in the South China Sea

E. Rowell:  The Obama Administration responded to a 2012 conflict in the South China sea by “mediating’ between the Philippines and China. The end result was the  the Philippines went back to their shores, but China stayed in the Scarborough Shoals.  Right where they were during the conflict*.  It is unclear what the Biden administration’s response would be to provocations by China at this time.  Judging by foreign policy past performance, the Biden Administration appears to effect foreign policy that is destructive to US interests and puts our enemies’ needs first.  We can see this play out in the conflict with Russia, in which the US overtly appears to want Russia destroyed, but the effects of Biden’s policies has been to destroy the US economy and potentially to destroy NATO itself.  Biden policy in the Middle East also is geared to meeting the needs of Hamas, Iran, Qatar, Egypt, and Hezbollah, at the expense of Israel and US defensive deterrence in the land and waters of the Middle East.

US-China tensions, with Philippines in the precarious middle, may be drifting toward a ‘1914’ moment in the disputed waters.

By Bob Savic, ASIA TIMES    4 June 2024

China’s announcement of its intention to enforce a law that would arrest foreign nationals venturing into waters it claims in the South China Sea (SCS) may be the trigger for a direct military confrontation with the United States. The regulation, known as the Administrative Law Enforcement Procedures for Coast Guard Agencies, will come into force on June 15, 2024.

Violent incidents between US ally, the Philippines, and China, have been ratcheting up in recent months. Dramatic film footage by Britain’s Sky News showed several large Chinese Coast Guard vessels pounding a smaller Philippine Coast Guard ship with powerful water cannons in disputed waters surrounding the Scarborough Shoal.

Who Is Funding the Pro-Hamas Protests; Are They Aiming to Take Down America?

Stanford, Silicon Valley, and the Rise of the Censorship Industrial Complex

E. Rowell:  Here is a description of a planned effort achieved incrementally by small amounts with the goal of a national surveillance state.  At each step of the way, no American, except those who planned this outcome, would have any idea that everything was planned from the beginning.  The article below traces the details of the main people involved in putting the finishing touches on a massive dragnet system involving intelligence agencies, non-profits, Stanford University, and more that seeks to identify what it defines as online “threats.”  Once a “threat” is identified, various methods are employed to censor, delegitimize, even financially ruin, individuals who may not have even committed a crime, but who have nevertheless been defined as a “threat.”  Reality is being managed by this “whole of society” system.  There is nothing about these individuals or this system that is patriotic or that is protective of the nation.  It is a system designed for criminals who want to destroy our representative republic and maintain absolute power and control in the name of “national security.”

By Ben Weingarten, REAL CLEAR INVESTIGATIONS    31 May 2024

This summer the Supreme Court will rule on a case involving what a district court called perhaps “the most massive attack against free speech” ever inflicted on the American people. In Murthy v. Missouri, plaintiffs ranging from the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana to epidemiologists from Harvard and Stanford allege that the federal government violated the First Amendment by working with outside groups and social media platforms to surveil, flag, and quash dissenting speech – characterizing it as mis-, dis- and mal-information – on issues ranging from COVID-19 to election integrity.

Is NATO is Flirting With War and Extinction

E. Rowell:  When you look closely into the details as to how Obama handled the War in Afghanistan and the War in Iraq you find that every apparent “mistaken” decision relating to those conflicts looks frighteningly like the exact policy you would design if you wanted the US military to fail and have Islamic terrorists win.* As a result of reading how time after time, Obama’s military policy interfered with the military, ignored the requests of the military, and overruled military decision making, you eventually come to the conclusion that the essence of every Obama/Biden military policy is predetermined to fail and self-destruct.  In the case of Israel, the Obama/Biden policy is designed to destroy the security of both America and Israel.  In the case of NATO, the Obama/Biden policy appears designed to destroy the security of both the US and Europe.

By Stephen Bryen, WEAPONS AND STRATEGY    1 June 2024

Blinken speaking in Prague

NATO is flirting with war and extinction.  France is now “officially” sending troops to Ukraine (they have been there for some time) and NATO countries are demanding strikes deep inside Russia.  Meanwhile the US has secretly made a “policy shift” that somewhat falls short of what Zelensky wanted, but opens the door to deep strikes by the US on Russian territory.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that the US deep strike authorization is “misinformation” but he did not deny the change in US policy. He claims it is Russian disinformation, but the reports came from Washington and not from Russia.

What is going on?

A Truce to End the War in Ukraine

T. Belman. Its gratifying to read an article from a conservative think tank in Israel which makes the same arguments that Markovsky, I and Pelonoi and I have been making. Also it is notable that one of the authors was formerly with the Council of Foreign Relations.

by  June 2024

Public support in the West for the war in Ukraine rests upon three frequently repeated assumptions:

Russia’s invasion was unexpected and unprovoked.
Ukraine is a unified and democratic nation.
Ukraine can win the war and regain its lost territory.

None of these is true.

The Policies That Are Killing Israeli Soldiers

E. Rowell:  Israeli military leaders are mindful of the power the US exerts in terms of weapons procurement.  However, there is a calculation to be made in formulating battle plans:  which plan will defeat the enemy most effectively with the fewest IDF casualties?  If the Biden directives call for a plan that will be less effective or ineffective at defeating the enemy AND also cause maximum IDF casualties, how can Israeli military leaders justify honoring them?  Surely weaponry can be supplied to Israel some other way than having to accept degrading terms from the United States.  There is a report of the US discussing the ceasefire with Gallant and Gantz.  There is a word for those who help the enemy in a time of war.

By Jonathan Schanzer, COMMENTARY    1 June 2024

Three soldiers from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were killed on May 28, when they encountered a Hamas booby trap in a building in Rafah. In a separate incident, three other soldiers were killed in a Hamas improvised explosive device (IED) attack on May 18.

The Hamas terrorist organization is undeniably the culprit. And the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hamas’s top military patron, bears significant responsibility, too. But this is also the unfortunate result of Biden Administration policies that have put Israeli soldiers in greater danger.
