The profound brutality that Syrian President Bashar Assad exhibited toward demonstrators during the 12 years since the eruption of the Arab Spring led him to be shunned by most of his Arab neighbors. Arab efforts to reintegrate Assad’s Syria back into the fold of Arab states have gained significant momentum for several years and are getting closer to fulfillment. All major U.S. Arab allies, with Qatar’s notable exception, have been steadily moving away from the U.S. stance and toward acceptance of Assad’s victory in the civil war.

(JNS) In the early days of March, a small crowd of leftists gathered outside the U.S. consulate in Tel Aviv holding up signs reading, “Biden help!” and “Biden, Blinken, Our democracy is sinking.”

A speaker at the rally appealed to Biden to “save us from ourselves.”

The consulate rally was held under the banner of “Defend Israeli Democracy,” which had organized international protests against democratic judicial reform that would have restored checks and balances. International rallies, including one in Berlin which featured women dressed as the “handmaids” from the TV show and signs accusing Israel of “fascism” and being an “apartheid state,” were not speaking to Israelis, but to the international anti-Israel left.

T. Belman. Satanovsky says that Russian -Israel relations are good. Russia doesn’t stop Israel from bombing Iranian Assets in Syria and keeps Iran from entering a 70 km strip of land at the Syrian Border with Israel. He plays down the Israeli help to Ukraine as being very minor. This part of the discussion starts at 30 minutes.

Russia, like China, believes in non-interference in internal affairs of other countries whereas the US believes in interfering.

A furore over a British Labour Party politician tells us a great deal about the tsunami of Jew-hatred rolling across Britain, America and the west.

Diane Abbott, who in 1987 became Britain’s first black female member of parliament, caused widespread outrage last weekend when she wrote in The Observer that Jews, Irish people and travellers don’t face racism but merely suffer the same level of prejudice as people with red hair. The only possible victims of racial prejudice, she suggested, are black people.

The Law of Return was intended to allow Jews an automatic right to become a citizen of the Jewish state.

But the 1970 amendment to Israel’s “Law of Return” – which allows non-Jews with only one Jewish grandparent, who is not defined as a Jew by any major Jewish movement, the automatic right to immigrate and become Israeli citizens – needs to be eliminated or modified.

U.S. global shares in high-value industries have fallen so dramatically that the nation now ranks just above Italy and behind Mexico in a list of key advanced industries, said experts at an April 27 industrial strategy conference hosted by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) think tank.

T. Belman. Wikipedia has a very interesting record  of how the Declaration of Independence was written. Well worth reading. It includes this:

Paragraph 13 of the Declaration provides that the State of Israel would be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex;. However, the Knesset maintains that the declaration is neither a law nor an ordinary legal document.^[33] The Supreme Court has ruled that the guarantees were merely guiding principles, and that the declaration is not a constitutional law making a practical ruling on the upholding or nullification of various ordinances and statutes.^[34]

This should be remembered when the Left argues for “complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex;”

Just as Israel has moved on from Ben Gurion’s socialist vision, Israel  should free herself from Ben Gurion’s declaration committing us to “provide equality of social and political rights to all inhabitants”. Political rights should only be granted Jews.
