Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa made his second visit to Moscow in four months on January 28, even as Russia is withdrawing its forces from the city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria. Moscow may hope that its withdrawal will help ensure Damascus grants Russia continued access to key bases in western Syria.

Islamic Republic of Iran records highest oil production in 46 years, with China driving exports

By | Jan 28, 2026

For those naive people who thought Trump was being harsh by coming down hard on his Canadian neighbor Mark Carney for deals with China, the report below shows the alliance between Communist China and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Carney is no match for China. Carney and Xi Jinping are simply not on an even playing field. And America cannot afford to share a border with a stooge of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Hamas Is SCOFFING as America Celebrates The “Peace Plan” in Gaza!

Peloni:  The determination by the US that the success of Trump’s deal is more important than enforcing the terms of the deal adds a troublesome context to a deal which was troubling in its original form.  As time passes, the deal has become more and more estranged from its original text, and now includes Hamas becoming part of the solution for what came about as a direct consequence of Hamas being considered part of the solution twenty years ago.  Notably, the problem is not merely with Hamas, but with the Islamist ideology which rejects any toleration of Israel, and notably, this ideology is now present on Trump’s Board of Peace, within the Gaza technocratic PA govt, and on the ground with Hamas being considered to be included in the new policing authority in Gaza.   As with Oslo, when the focus remains upon having some deal rather than being upon dealing with the underlying causes of the conflict, ie the Islamists in region being treated as peace partners, there can be little hope for any resulting peace.

The Tragic Plight of the Kurds

Peloni:  Diliman Abdulkader is the Director of the American Friends of Kurdistan and he joins Sarah Stern of EMET in a frank and dark depiction of where the Kurds stand today.  Having been bartered off to the will of the Turks, the Kurds stand upon the precipice of utter destruction.  Standing as the second abandonment of Trump, the first being during the first Trump administration, the question arises what the US has in store for the remaining minorities in Syria as they continue to embolden, empower, and enrich Turkey’s man in Demascus.  Only Israel stands between the Turks and these minority groups today, and the question remains to be answered if this will be enough to forestall the US support of Turkey in Syria from achieving its ultimate goal of complete conquest and subjugation of Syria.  This question however appears to be all but conclusively answered for the Kurdish regions in Northern Syria.

‘Repression Cannot Go Unanswered’: EU Designates IRGC as Terrorist Organization

Peloni This was an important achievement for Washington.  Is is mere coincidence that the repulsion of Iran’s crackdown on its public was timed long after the crackdown but very shortly after Trump’s negotiations over Greenland at the WEF in Davos?  Keep this in mind going forward.

  • EU Designates IRGC: The European Union (EU) designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization on January 29. The decision was made after the bloc achieved the unanimity required to formally make the designation, with an official legal adoption of the blacklisting expected in the next few weeks. “Repression cannot go unanswered,” Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, declared, “Any regime that kills thousands of its own people is working toward its own demise.”

JD Vance ‘forgot’ to mention the Jews on Holocaust Remembrance Day

Peloni:  It was not by accident that Vance specifically failed to mention the Jews in his comments here.  Indeed, he is a shrewd if transparent political thinker, one who is far better known for making political choices rather than off the cuff mistakes.  While it is in many ways more of the same, it was clearly a nod toward his best bud Tucker Carlson.

This is just one more example of a Tucker-Carlson-esque pattern of doing anything he can to avoid showing sympathy to Israel and the Jews.

Trump Should Confront Saudi Arabia’s Antisemitic Turn

Peloni: Yes, Trump should at the very least address the shifting sea of Jew Hatred being espoused by what was believed to be a moderate visionary leading the Saudi kingdom.  Trump should also address the Saudi influence being peddled in US schools and colleges, just as he should address the same with Qatar.  These are not small issues.  As Mark Levin noted previously, foreign policy and domestic policy in the US are not unrelated.  Indeed, America is changing and the change taking root is emanating from a top down and bottom up strategy, where education indoctrinates the young, and political influencers influence those beyond schooling age.  It is a dual focus with foreign influence at play in both of these arenas, all with the aim of conquering the West.  As Trump is failing to address either of these assaults on the West, the West will continue to fall, even as Trump and his strongest supporters continue to claims other victories on other topics are turning the tide in the collapsing West.  I would argue the truth, however, is something altogether different.

A growing campaign of anti-Jewish rhetoric in Riyadh threatens the Abraham Accords and demands American leadership.

In recent months, a troubling shift has emerged from the heart of the Arabian Peninsula. Once poised on the brink of historic peace with Israel through the Abraham Accords, Saudi Arabia has instead amplified virulent anti-Jewish rhetoric from influential clerics and intellectuals. This development isn’t just bad for Israel it undermines American security interests and the very foundations of peace in the Middle East.

Peloni

Mark begins his Sunday January 28 show with a list of accomplishments which Trump has achieved in the first term of his term,, from Panama to Greenland to Venezuela to the closing of the border to tariffs to economics.  In doing so, Mark draws the conclusion that domestic and foreign policies are bound together, and that they are not independent topics which might be ignored entirely while selectively focusing upon exclusively foreign policy or exclusively domestic policy.

This Is How the Deal Lets Hamas Keep Its Weapons and Stay in Power

By | Jan 28, 2026

“They want peace. They want a better economic future for their families. They want credible homes.”

Every deal with Islamic terrorists depends on traitors and idiots.

The traitors at least know what they’re doing while the idiots embrace liberal notions that Islamic terrorism will go away if we throw enough money and democracy at them because, like Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, they insist that all Hamas wants is a better life. Kushner and Witkoff have long since pivoted in their public statements from condemning Hamas to viewing their proposed appeasement of it as the solution and Israel as the problem for refusing to go along with it.

Netanyahu Says IDF Losses Due to Ammunition Shortage Before Trump Intervention

Peloni:  Political choices in Washington have been carrying a mortal cost to Israelis going back decades.  Indeed, the role played by Kissinger in holding up arms supplies to Israel during the Yom Kippur war played a similar role to what we saw with the Biden Embargo.  Of course, Israel did not heed the lessons it should have learned from Kissenger decades ago, which is why Bibi is lamenting over the dead who fell as a result of Israel’s greatest ally applying limitations on Israel’s access to arms during war.  Greater independence means greater sovereign choices and fewer foreign constraints, even from allies, and particularly relevant during wartime.
