T. Belman. As it happens, I attended the University of Toronto when she did. In fact, I dated her roommate for a time. Then I went on to law school and her first husband was in my class. As a result I have followed her life quite closely.

I knew her to be an ardent Zionist. Her husband, Conrad Black, even owned the Jerusalem Post for a while as part of his newspaper Empire. It too was lost. I think when Conrad asked friends to financially support his defense costs, Donald Trump contributed $10,000 as I recall.

UAE minister of state for foreign affairs fires back after PA official attacks UAE over agreement with Israel.

A senior United Arab Emirates official on Tuesday fired back at the Palestinian Arab ambassador to France after he attacked the UAE over its establishment of formal relations with Israel, Times of Israel reported.

The envoy, Salman El Herfi, blasted both the UAE and Bahrain in an interview with French magazine Le Point, saying, among other things, that these countries “have become more Israeli than Israel” and are violating the charter of the United Nations.

El Herfi charged that the UAE had long abandoned the Palestinian cause and that he wasn’t surprised by Abu Dhabi’s decision to normalize ties with Israel in August.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America, in its Trump as Nazi ad, covers up the truth about who is battling anti-Semitism and who is abetting it.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America recently released a television ad comparing Trump and his administration to the Nazi regime. The ad was criticized by some Jewish organizations, such as the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the American Jewish Committee, with critics repeating the long-held Jewish insistence that facile comparisons to Nazi Germany demean the suffering of victims of the Holocaust and trivialize the unprecedented nature of the industrialized mass murder that claimed their lives.

Yet others, who should know better, such as historian Deborah Lipstadt, and former Anti-Defamation League head and Holocaust survivor Abe Foxman, defended the advertisement. Lipstadt suggested that it was fine because it was comparing the present administration not to the Nazi regime’s extermination campaign, but to its anti-Semitic policies and practices early in its ascension to power.

After many declarations that President Trump was vanquished on the basis of an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showing him 14 points behind, it turns out that the poll was totally bogus.

Four years ago, in October 2016, an AP-GfK poll also showed that Trump had fallen 14 points behind Hillary Clinton right after their final debate — 12 days before the election.  We all know how that turned out.

The first clue about the new poll’s problems should have been on the first line: the poll was conducted by “Hart (!) Research Associates/Public Opinion Strategies.”  Peter Hart is a Democratic operative, and, if the poll was supposed to be “bipartisan,” it certainly doesn’t show.

I recently listened to a radio program broadcast on Israel Broadcasting Authority. I commend the moderator, Yitzhak Noy for tackling the complex subject of American Jewry and Israeli Jews. His guests were three Jewish Israeli professors from mainstream Israeli universities. The professors probably see themselves as the classic variety of Liberal, however, they appear to have unwittingly become hostage to a progressive world view.

They agreed that most of American Jewry have diverged from their Israeli brethren. Their rapid assimilation and intermarriage set them apart from the majority of Israelis who are still traditional. US Jewry overwhelmingly identifies with and vote for the Democratic Party, whereas Jewish Israelis primarily identify with Right-wing parties. It is worth noting that the Democratic party has moved dramatically leftwards towards Progressivism, and even appears to be flirting with the philosophy of Socialism. The professors also suggested that Israel’s Jews manifest ethnic, tribal, and chauvinistic tendencies.

A GREAT ANALYSIS

I’m frustrated.  While watching two recent debates, I heard both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris spout out lie after lie without being seriously challenged from the other side.  They get away with repeating these smears because they tell media-sanctioned lies — ones they repeat over and over until they become part of the dominant narrative.  These lies have been told so often and have come from so many different sources that they are now believed as the truth.  So when Biden and Harris repeat those lies, they’re never challenged, they don’t have to defend themselves, and they suffer no consequences for it.

The frustrating part is that they effectively put the truth on the defensive.  How do you confront the lie, told in both debates, that Trump paid only $750 in federal income taxes?  All you can say is “That’s not true!  Trump has paid millions of dollars in taxes across dozens of business ventures in his life!”  Or “That doesn’t mean anything.  All he did is use the tax laws that Joe Biden enacted to reduce his tax burden to the lowest amount possible, just as everyone else does.”  Those statements are true, but they’re also defensive.  Repeating these lies inside a leftist spin bubble always forces the truth to play defense.
