According to new research made available by NGO Monitor, several Palestinian organizations portraying themselves as independent promoters of human rights are being openly funded by European states, some of which categorize their support as “legal aid” in the full knowledge that this legal aid is being used to fund lawsuits against Israel in the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague.

A report in Wednesday’s edition of Yisrael Hayom singles out Switzerland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Denmark, and Ireland for their support of Palestinian organizations, prominent among which is one that titles itself “The Palestinian Center for Human Rights” (PCHR). According to NGO Monitor, PCHR was funded by Switzerland to the amount of $700,000 between 2018 and 2020, money that went directly to fund lawsuits opened at The Hague. PCHR’s contract with the Swiss government contained the stipulation that the organization would be required to “communicate with the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Tribunal … send documents, communicate with the Tribunal, and submit cases in international forums.”

George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis has revived the Obama-era narrative that law enforcement is endemically racist. On Friday, Barack Obama tweeted that for millions of black Americans, being treated differently by the criminal justice system on account of race is “tragically, painfully, maddeningly ‘normal.’ ” Mr. Obama called on the police and the public to create a “new normal,” in which bigotry no longer “infects our institutions and our hearts.”

Joe Biden released a video the same day in which he asserted that all African-Americans fear for their safety from “bad police” and black children must be instructed to tolerate police abuse just so they can “make it home.” That echoed a claim Mr. Obama made after the ambush murder of five Dallas officers in July 2016. During their memorial service, the president said African-American parents were right to fear that their children may be killed by police officers whenever they go outside.

President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the first time on Tuesday. In his speech, he focused on the threat posed by North Korea, and on Iran’s government and the Iran nuclear deal.

Trump referred to North Korean leader Kim Jung Un as “rocket man,” and described him as being on “a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.” He also threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if the US finds itself “forced to defend itself or its allies.”

On Iran, Trump demanded that “Iran’s government must stop supporting terrorists, begin serving its own people, and respect the sovereign rights of its neighbors.” He also criticized the Iran nuclear deal, calling it, characteristically, “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions” and “an embarrassment.”

Palestinian Authority security forces have detained dozens of supporters of a rival to President Mahmoud Abbas who is based in the United Arab Emirates, his political group said Monday.

Mohammed Dahlan, a former senior Palestinian official who was banished from the West Bank in 2010 after a falling-out with Abbas, has denied any role in the UAE’s agreement to normalize ties with Israel, which most Palestinians view as a betrayal of their cause.

Dahlan’s political movement said in a statement that dozens of its members have been detained or summoned for questioning by Palestinian security forces in the West Bank in recent days, calling it a “stark violation of the law.”

We’ve seen it repeatedly since George Floyd’s drug overdose: Chanting mobs of mostly young, white people surround diners at restaurants or drivers in cars and force them to repeat the “black lives matter” mantra. While some of those happily chant along, it’s evident that many are doing so because they are terrified of the screaming, violent, obscene mob surrounding them. For many of us, it’s like watching an American reprise of China’s Red Guard and its frightening struggle sessions. Paul Joseph Watson agrees. He’s has put together a video that shows how precisely today’s mob replicates China’s Red Guard.

I don’t often have the patience to sit through a 15-minute video because I usually get the point in the first few minutes. However, I watched every minute of Watson’s comparison between the ritual public shaming, all backed by actual or threatened violence, that we’re witnessing now and what happened in China from the mid-1960s through the end of the 1970s. Watson relies on archival footage, interviews, and movie reenactments to show what it was like to live in China when the Red Guard – made up of students who were true believers and others who joined the mob to take the target off their own backs – became ascendant.

WASHINGTON — With the presidential election looming, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday vowed to hold a vote on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“President Trump’s nominee for this vacancy will receive a vote on the floor of the Senate,” McConnell (R-Ky.) said in the chamber, warning of a cultural war over filling the influential role.

“We’re going to vote on this nomination on this floor,” he vowed as pressure mounts over the vacancy which could reshape the future of the highest legal body in the nation for decades.

Saudi Arabia’s monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has been at odds with his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, over embracing the Jewish state. The king is a longtime supporter of the Arab boycott of Israel and the Palestinians’ demand for an independent state. The prince wants to move past what he sees as an intractable conflict to join with Israel in business and align against Iran.

At 5:23 p.m. on July 18, 2012, a deadly explosion rocked Bulgaria’s Sarafavo airport near the Black Sea town of Burgas, killing five Jewish Israeli tourists and their Muslim Bulgarian bus driver. Dozens of other Israelis and Bulgarians were wounded as body parts and blood flew across the airport. After eight years, a modicum of justice for the victims may be in sight. On Monday, the country’s Specialized Criminal Court, following a trial in absentia, will likely find two Hezbollah operatives—Meliad Farah and Hassan El Hajj Hassan, for whom Interpol has wanted notices—culpable for the attack.

But justice can’t be fully served unless Hezbollah itself, which masterminded the bombing, is held accountable by Bulgaria, the European Union and the global community.
