Time is against Democrats. Joe Biden, who, for whatever reasons, publicly capitulated his candidacy, not his presidency, endorsing Kamala Harris to succeed him, is gone. Both are idiots. She can’t succeed him unless he’s dead or surrenders. He didn’t surrender, and he’s not dead yet, so we know that Kamala cannot simply become the party’s candidate by fiat of party leaders without a vote of DNC delegates. Her candidacy is an open question that complicates democratic procedures. To do otherwise is to sweep the cherished principles of democracy they have steadfastly championed all these years out the door with Joe. There is a process that the DNC must follow if they intend their candidate even to appear to be legitimate. For Democrats, some better candidates could be offered, but there is so little time to get them. BTW, Gavin Newsome is not one of them, not now, not ever, never!

Hamas rejected a reported Israeli proposal on July 26 to screen Palestinians who return to the northern half of the Gaza Strip in the event of an agreed ceasefire, accusing Israel of stalling negotiations. An unnamed Israeli official told Reuters that the rejection was “bizarre,” as Israel has not sent the proposal and “nobody has read it yet.” Israeli negotiators are understood to view the change as a necessary concession to prevent Hamas fighters, or civilians who provide covert support to Hamas, from returning to the northern part of the strip and bolstering the remaining Hamas fighters entrenched there.

After failing to mention it in previous briefings, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines finally issued a press release admitting that “Iranian government actors have sought to opportunistically take advantage of ongoing protests regarding the war in Gaza” by “posing as activists online, seeking to encourage protests, and even providing financial support to protesters.”

Haines, a veteran of the Obama and Biden administrations, then went out of her way to defend participants in the pro-Hamas movement even though they are working with America’s enemies. (As did Kamala Harris)

Peloni:  This is highly recommended reading.  Dyer provides a granular review of the Israeli attack on Yemen and explains that this attack has acted to advance the possibility for the US to quickly end the Houthi reign of terror on international shipping and in Yemen.  Israel’s assault on Yemen targeted many of the oil storage farms in the Houthi controlled territory, providing a massive logistical quandry for the terror enclave.  Should the US choose to act, it could lead to strangling the Houthis into submission.  Since the Israeli attack, the US and Britain have already conducted their own followup attack which was clearly inspired by Israel’s strategic coup d’grace.  There is a great deal of valuable details shared in this report which also includes the description of the Houthi’s own on site UN supervisory mission.
