Dutch court orders halt to export of F-35 jet parts to Israel

The Netherlands houses one of several regional warehouses of US-owned F-35 parts, from which the parts are distributed to countries that request them.

By REUTERS, JPOST FEBRUARY 12, 2024

A Dutch appeals court on Monday ordered the government to block all exports of F-35 fighter jet parts to Israel over concerns they were being used in violations of international law during Israel’s Gaza offensive.

“It is undeniable that there is a clear risk the exported F-35 parts are used in serious violations of international humanitarian law,” the court said.

It said the state had to comply with the order within seven days and dismissed a request by government lawyers to suspend the order during an appeal to the Supreme Court.

The massacre that changed everything: ‘Nir Oz residents woken up from two-state solution’

Peloni:  The Left has lost its faith in one of its most fundamental precepts, namely that peaceful coexistence with the Pals was ever possible.  It is a terrible thing for them to have only learned this obvious truism thru the horrors of  October 7, but the trauma which made these realities apparent will not soon allow them to be forgotten.

The Wall Street Journal interviewed kibbutz members who survived the massacre and now speak fundamentally differently about the Palestinian and Gaza issues. “Our trust is gone. Completely lost.”

Newsrael News Desk 9:00 PM

“We have lost trust in the Palestinians; this is the end of the two-state solution and a disillusionment of a possible future between Palestinians and Israelis in the region.” These are the voices that were heard at Kibbutz Nir Oz, as quoted in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

“Not one significant Israeli politician is talking about a Palestinian state today, except to dismiss the idea as ridiculous. To talk about a two-state ‘solution’ – this is a word that sounds inappropriate and obscene after October 7th,” writes the Wall Street Journal journalist after a broad review of the voices from the regional kibbutzim. UN official: Oct. 7 victims were killed because of Israeli oppression, not antisemitism

Peloni:  The United Nations is an altogether antisemitic institution.  What we are witnessing in this moment is just the latest iteration exemplifying it promoting and perpetuating Jew Hatred in perpetuity.

United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese claims October 7 only happened because of ‘Israeli oppression’ in response to French President calling it the ‘largest antisemitic massacre of our century.

United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese denied that the Hamas massacre of over 1,200 people in southern Israel on October 7 was antisemitic yesterday (Saturday) and blamed the State of Israel for the massacre of its citizens.

Albanese made the shocking statement in response to French President Emmanuel Macron, who called the October 7 attacks “the largest antisemitic massacre of our century.”

Michael Taube: It’s Time for the West to Leave the United Nations, and Form a League of Democracies

By Michael Taube, EPOCH TIMES                             11 February 2024

Commentary

The United Nations, like its predecessor, the League of Nations, was once regarded as a noble institution. A place where different countries could discuss and debate everything from political disputes to wars and military skirmishes. While there would obviously be points of agreement and disagreement, the main goal was to find a path to peace, security, and a safer world for all of us to live in.

That was then, and this is now.

So who is in charge of America? We really don’t know

So who you gonna call when you need assistance? If, say, you are the prime minister of Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu, and there is urgent business to discuss, you call, but nobody answers. Op-ed.

The two-state solution is not the only road to peace

Other options exist for resolving the dispute and granting the Palestinians self-rule and governance, including autonomy, federation, confederation, condominium, and co-imperium.

It is patently evident that the Gaza Strip cannot and will not, after the present armed conflict, return to being a brutal Hamas terror hub.

Similarly, it is no less evident that the hopeless, hapless, corrupt, failed, and incompetent Palestinian Authority, whether revitalized or renewed, could ever be capable of administering Gaza any more than it has been capable of administering the West Bank areas.

However, despite these self-evident facts, the absurd “two-state solution” buzzword is still, nevertheless, unbelievably being blindly and increasingly repeated day in and day out.

Caution! A Palestinian state is on the way

As though nothing has happened, international pressure for the establishment of a Palestinian state in Israel’s heartland continues, contrary to the position of the absolute majority of Israeli citizens. The Israeli government must provide a clear and practical response.

Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matarare co-chairs The Sovereignty Movement

Despite everything that we underwent on the morning of Simchat Torah October 7th, and everything that we have been undergoing since then, despite the brutal acts by Arab terrorists who slaughtered and massacred our people, despite the hostages still being held in Hamas captivity, despite the ongoing war with the self-sacrifice of our finest children; despite all this, in broad daylight, elements from within and without continue to plan on our behalf the partition of the land and the insane idea that endangers Israel’s future, the idea of the establishment of a Palestinian Arab state in its heartland.

I Pray That You Never Know What It’s Like

Confronting the unthinkable and your Western privilege

By Zach Ross, I DARE YOU TO THINK                      7 February 2024

I pray that you never know what it’s like.

What it’s like to survive a suicide bombing at a nightclub, a pizzeria or a bus ride, a mass shooting while you’re having drinks at a bar, a stabbing attack on your way home from school or a car ramming attack on the main boulevard of your town.

I pray that you never know what it’s like to have mere seconds to run to a bomb shelter from incoming rockets targeting you and your children every day… for decades.

US preparations are underway to recognize a Palestinian state without Israeli consent.

Caroline Glick retweeted the following from  Open Source Intel:

#Breaking: According to @MaarivOnline : In the United States, preparations are underway to recognize a Palestinian state without Israeli consent. Antony Blinken recently instructed his office team to prepare organized groundwork for the possibility of American or international recognition of a Palestinian state unilaterally and without coordination with Israel. Israeli sources express concern, stating that the matter is not being handled appropriately.

Concern in Israel – the political tsunami is already here: Political figures in Israel are worried about the intensive activity of the American government to promote the idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza under a unified authority based on what is defined as a “renewed Palestinian authority.” According to American sources, the State Department is examining recognition of a Palestinian state as part of a comprehensive diplomatic initiative that addresses the day after Qhamas rule in Gaza.

Nuclear Option Being Considered to Remove Biden as Nominee as Multiple Candidates Surface

E.Rowell:  There are two main issues at work here:  1. Determining and [the Constitutional procedure for] dealing with Biden’s incapacity to function as President and 2. The fact that it is too late for any candidate other than Biden to appear on the remaining state primary democrat ballots including using the write-in option.  The latest date at which a new candidate could appear on the ballot for many states was December 2023.

An explosive report claims that multiple Democrats are considering dumping Old Joe Biden after a damaging DOJ report concluded that he is “an elderly man with a poor memory” and “diminished faculties.”As the Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila previously revealed, Special Counsel Robert Hur concluded that Biden “willfully retained” classified information but declined to charge him.But the Justice Department defended not bringing charges against Biden because he’s a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” Translation: Biden is not guilty because he is suffering from dementia and has no clue what he is doing. THE UN RELIEF AND WORKS AGENCY IS THE PROBLEM – NOT THE SOLUTION

Peloni:  A very interesting conversation as usual.  In this episode, among other things, Mike conjectures that the real purpose of the upcoming Blinken visit is to stop Israel from attacking Rafah.  He believes that Israel’s actions might be intended to put pressure on Hamas to agree to a an acceptable prisoner deal to pause the fighting.  Gadi notes that there are other pressures which could be raised such as a protest in Israel against Blinken, or for Bibi to begin to address the American people directly.  Notably, Bibi’s speech at the press conference two days ago, which was staunchly defensive of continuing the war, was later re-recorded in English, something which has not been the norm thus far in this war.

By Gadi Taub & Mike Doran,  Tablet February 10, 2024

Recent revelations about the participation of UNRWA employees in the October 7 massacre have focused attention on the agency. The UN has vowed to purge it. Supporting countries are withholding funds. But the problem is not this or that employee. The problem is structural. UNRWA was born in sin. It was created to perpetuate the Palestinian refugee problem in order to prevent any solution short of the full destruction of Israel. We spoke with Dr. Adi Schwartz, co-author (with former Labor Party Knesset member Einat Wilf) of the bestselling book The War of Return about the role of UNRWA and what could be done about it.

TOC Ready Room 9 February 2024: Strikes and rumors of strikes; Bonus: the missing TACAIR?

Peloni:  The following is the final third of Dyer’s most recent column.  In her analsyis here she shares her conclusion that:

“As I noted a month ago in a more extended treatment, the main actor the U.S. operational profile in CENTCOM is in no position to deter is Iran.”

And she suggests that this might well “explain everything bizarre and operationally inexplicable about how the Biden administration has run the counter-strikes so far.”

Deterrence and credibility deficit.

J.E. Dyer, The Optimistic Conservative, February 9, 2024

What we haven’t been told is what the Air Force’s squadrons of strike-fighters at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar were doing.

Refueling tankers flew from Al-Udeid, apparently to support the strike package. At a minimum this support would have been for the B-1s.  I’d typically assume the bombers had fighter escort as well.  It seems likely that it came from Al-Udeid.  But it’s an assumption that Al-Udeid-based escorts were used – and there’s an information hole for the question whether strike-fighters from Al-Udeid participated in the strikes on ground targets.

After rejecting Hamas’s demands, Israel said open to talks based on ‘Paris’ proposal

T. Belman. Bibi called these demands “delusional”.  So why is he prepared to give a written response. The proper stance is not to reply and simply say, if Hamas wants a disccussion, it should first make a better offer. He should not dignify delusional; demands by replying tp them in writing.  At least he has turned of the discussion to the full cabinet.

TV report says war cabinet members agreed to draw up formal response to terror group’s conditions for hostage deal, as families of captives demand urgent meeting with them

Members of the war cabinet have reportedly decided to draw up a response to Hamas’s proposal for a hostage release deal, after rejecting its demands for an agreement.

According to reports Friday, Israel is willing to hold talks on the basis of a proposed agreement that Hamas was responding to, but opposes most of the conditions made by the Gaza-ruling terror group, which include an end to the war sparked by its shock October 7 attack in which Palestinian terroirsts killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took 253 hostage.
