Iran’s Growing Ballistic Missile Threat

By Majid Rafizadeh, GATESTONE       13 January 2024

  • Because of the apparent lack of oversight from world leaders, especially the United States, the rising provision of ballistic missiles by Iran to non-state actors –including terrorist and militia groups, as well as rogue states — now presents a significant source of concern for global security.
  • The regime continues to hide behind its proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. Those are Iran’s human shields. That is why they have proxies in the first place: then it is the proxies doing the dirty work and being attacked, not Iran.

Don’t look away from the cause of the antisemitism epidemic

As shocking incidents pile up and surveys show prejudice growing, the way woke ideology grants a permission slip for Jew-hatred cannot be ignored.

By  Jonathan S. Tobin  01-10-2024

We could look at it as just another day in New York, where protests on behalf of one cause or another have been part of the culture of the place for more than a century. But the organized effort to snarl traffic with demonstrations blocking a tunnel and three major bridges by people chanting support for the killing of Jews ought to be treated as more than just another day in Gotham.

The answer as to why this is happening is linked to recent controversies about college presidents who had trouble deciding whether advocacy for the genocide of Jews violates their academic institutions’ rules of conduct. Since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel, there has been an epidemic of antisemitic incidents throughout North America. Jewish businesses and even Jewish neighborhoods have been targeted for boycotts or harassment. Jewish students are harassed and heckled with vicious antisemitic taunts, most recently during a high school basketball game.

Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, the terror group Islamic State Khorasan Province, or ISIS-K, has sought to internationalize its operational and recruitment campaign.

Utilizing a sweeping propaganda campaign to appeal to audiences across South and Central Asia, the group has tried to position itself as the dominant regional challenger to what it perceives to be repressive regimes.

The International Court Of “Injustice” Begins Its Blood Libel Trial Against Israel

By Alan M. Dershowitz, GATESTONE    12 January 2024

  • What is the International Court of Justice? It is not international, because it excludes judges from certain countries. It is not a real court, because the judges are selected by their countries and many of them simply follow the instructions of those who appointed them. And it has never done justice, because it has long been biased against Israel. It is the United Nations court, and that tells you all you need to know about it.

The CCP’s $1 Trillion Geopolitical Weapon Is Failing

China’s Belt and Road Initiative loses its appeal over hidden military ambitions, corruption, and lack of economic results.

By Terri Wu, EPOCH TIMES   January 12, 2024

China’s $1 trillion global infrastructure investment program just turned 10, and it’s losing its luster.

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), touted as a platform for China to build trade and investment links in developing countries, has evolved much in the past decade.

But wariness from countries in recent years has grown, and the program has drawn criticism over issues ranging from saddling partners with unsustainable debt to fueling corruption and labor abuses.

South Africa sues Israel for genocide in The Hague – a classic case of “illegitimate lawfare”

By Andrew Tucker, Thinc.

The deepening chill over Israel from Britain and America

Obsessional hostility has even infected counter-terrorism experts

MELANIE PHILLIPS

UK Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, December 7 2023

The chilly winds that have been blowing towards Israel from its American and British allies have grown even colder.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the UK’s House of Commons whose duty is to be conspicuously impartial, caused astonishment when a diary note from his office indicated that he would meet the “Palestine Ambassador” to Britain this week. The note also said that “as part of Speaker-led diplomacy, we will be flying the … Palestine flag in honour of the Palestine Ambassador”.

Israeli Demolitions of Palestinian East Jerusalem Homes Spike Amid War; Negev Bulldozing Renewed

During previous Gaza wars, authorities refrained from demolitions in East Jerusalem to ease tensions. However, the pace increased since October, with a 60% surge in demolished homes reported in 2023. Wednesday also marked the first demolitions in unrecognized Bedouin villages since the war began

The Jerusalem Municipality has expedited the pace of house demolitions in East Jerusalem since the war began, with 140 homes demolished in 2023, marking a 60% increase from the preceding year.

Alongside these, 84 other structures, including shops and warehouses, were also demolished. This current approach diverges from past Gaza conflict periods, where authorities refrained from demolishing homes in East Jerusalem to prevent escalating security tensions in the city.

As Israel continues to battle Hamas, Blinken comes with demands it can’t meet

Facing a difficult election, Biden and his team want to wind the war down, but they risk encouraging adversaries in the region and beyond

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was back in Israel again this week for the fourth, fifth, or sixth time, depending on what one considers a visit.

However you want to count it, there is no question that he has become the face of the Biden administration’s involvement in Israel’s campaign to destroy Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Talks on ‘pushing back’ Hezbollah from the Lebanon-Israel border are designed to deceptively pacify Israel

By Tal Beeri and Yaakov Lappin, ALMA REC        9 January 2024

There have been an increasing number of Lebanese and international media reports in recent days and weeks about efforts to forge a diplomatic agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, spearheaded by the United States and France. This would ostensibly be done by pushing Hezbollah operatives back from the border with Israel by a distance of between five and ten kilometers.

David Wurmser: US Treating Israel Like It Is Not A Sovereign Country

E. Rowell:  In this interview it becomes clear that staffers in the current Biden Administration function as Iranian agents.  Their policy goals damage Israel’s legitimacy as a sovereign nation and her ability to protect her national security, while they empower Iranian hegemony over the Middle East.  In addition, Israel’s current military leaders are so dependent upon the US, that they have been willing to jettison decisive victory against Hamas and Hezbollah in the vain hope of maintaining the US dependence that is now more millstone than support.

Minister Benny Gantz warns: If we stop now – Hamas will regain control

Minister Benny Gantz in a statement: The most urgent thing is the return of the hostages. This has precedence over any move in the fighting.

  Jan 11, 2024, 3:07 AM

Minister Benny GantzSpokesperson

The chairman of the National Unity Party, Minister Benny Gantz, gave a statement on Wednesday afternoon in which he said that the war against Hamas in Gaza must not be stopped.

“The achievements of the IDF are increasing. Shaft after shaft, headquarters after headquarters. A large part of the Gaza Strip is not ruled by Hamas today. The public institutions were destroyed, it does not provide education or medical services except through international organizations. A Gazan citizen does not have a true governmental address,” Gantz said.

Victory is more important than US support

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers must remember that Israel is not an American vassal state.

  Jan 10, 2024, 9:39 PM

(JNS) At his press conference Tuesday evening, U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken showed that contrary to popular belief, the Biden administration is not Israel’s ally. It is the greatest obstacle to Israel’s victory.

Blinken began his remarks by drawing a moral equivalence between the suffering of Israeli hostages and their families and that of the Palestinian Arabs in Gaza. The Palestinian Arabs in Gaza, who overwhelmingly support Hamas, are just as innocent as the hostages, Blinken insisted.

“Totally defensive” in the Middle East: The void and the non-deterrence

Peloni:  The focus of the US led presence in the region is clearly not intended to deter Iran.

The reluctance of the Biden administration to put U.S. carriers in the Gulf reflects the low priority deterring Iran is for Team Biden.  A credible deterrent presence vis-à-vis Iran is the “hack” needed to lock the gates on regional escalation, and Biden isn’t putting the most obvious asset behind that.  Instead, he’s got it hundreds of miles away, acting like an escort ship without the escort-ship agility and sea-combat superiority, while prevented by policy from doing what it was born for: mangling Houthi – or Iranian – stash ashore.”

How NOT to deter a rogue nation like radical Iran.

J.E. Dyer, Optimistic Conservative January 9, 2024

It doesn’t help that the U.S. military chain of command was basically, as far as we can see right now, in Status Unknown around the New Year.  It’s being reported that neither the National Security Council nor Congress was informed on New Year’s Day when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was put in intensive care following an “elective procedure” performed sometime before (probably Christmas week).  Austin was in the ICU for four days before the NSC was told.
