A monolithic media, essential to the left, imperils democracy

As in the United States, Israel’s mainstream media outlets favor the political left. That’s why they’re trying to crush “Channel 14,” which favors Netanyahu and judicial reform.

<

As different as the United States and Israel are, the events of the last several months have shown that the political and media cultures of the two nations are growing more and more alike. Nothing demonstrates that better than the current campaign to silence Israeli television’s Channel 14.

A free and politically diverse press is essential to democracy. Thomas Jefferson famously wrote that if given the choice between, “a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

Religious Affairs Min.: In a left-wing government, haredim wouldn’t be fried

‘Haredi parties have never submitted a bill on religious matters, other than when Supreme Court forced Knesset to intervene,’ Min. Malkieli says.

Religious Affairs Minister Michael Malkieli (Shas) has said that the criticism constantly leveled at the haredi community is rooted in the haredi parties’ support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“I don’t remember periods in which we were not fried, other than if we joined a left-wing government. With them, the media would not attack us, because it’s all about ‘anyone other than Netanyahu,'” Malkieli told Kol Hai Radio.

A New Day, a New Type of Election Fraud

By Jay Valentine, AM THINKER<
>

Seems like every day, someone is finding new, fun types of election fraud. This is not accidental — this is exactly how industrial, at-scale, organized fraud is uncovered. We call it spiraling to accuracy.

When our team was hired by State Farm, GEICO, USAA, and other top insurers to stop organized auto fraud rings, we found the easy stuff fast — the equivalent of phantom voters.

The C0VID19 Genocide of 2020, A synopsis of the greatest genocide in mankind history

Uri, Weiss. It uncovers the entire milieu of oligarchs psychopaths who are determined to regress us to the medieval times of slavery and despair. They think that this time they will be successful, in their words they own the “science” to be used to usher the era of TRANSHUMANISM, by first reducing the world population, getting rid of undesirables and subjugation of the remaining, by tampering with their DNA, to turn them into obedient sheep. This was their plan, in the words of Claire Edwards:

Saudi Arabia appoints first ambassador to ‘State of Palestine’

T. Belman. I have read 4 articles on this breaking news item. They all differ in many respects. The significance of the story is that the presentation of credentials to the State of Palestine, took place in Jordan. I believe that this heralds Jordan being considered the State of Palestine. Hereafter Saudi relations with the State of Palestine will take place in Jordan. Time will tell.

Why now, since normalization is very far off.

While envoy’s portfolio will also include being non-resident Jerusalem consul general, that title refers to engagement with the Palestinians, not Israel

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Jordan presented his credentials on Saturday to begin also serving as Riyadh’s first-ever non-resident ambassador to Palestine, as well as its first-ever non-resident consul general to Jerusalem.

The move amounts to an apparent effort by Saudi Arabia to intensify its involvement in the region, as Riyadh engages in negotiations with the Biden administration about potentially normalizing relations with Israel.

Fred Fleitz to Newsmax: ‘No Deal’ Between Saudis, Israel

By Sandy Fitzgerald, NEWSMAX    |   Sunday, 13 August 2023

The Biden administration is trying to “claim credit for something that is years away from being implemented” with its talk about a deal to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, former National Security Council Chief of Staff Fred Fleitz told Newsmax on Sunday.

“There is no deal,” Fleitz, the vice chair of the America First Policy Institute Center for American Security and a Newsmax contributor, commented on “Wake Up America,” adding that if a deal ever would be reached, that would mean Saudi Arabia would have to cut ties with China, and Israel would have to make peace with the Palestinians.

The Ties That Bind

Connecting China, Ukraine, Global Warming, the Trump Indictments & Monetary Theory

By ANDREW BENJAMIN, VIEWS ASKEW   AUG 13, 2023

Monetary theory posits that a change in money supply is a key driver of economic activity. It challenges progressive media theory, whereas everything progressives claim is so, is usually the exact opposite of what is so.

What is so is:

The Anti-Democratic Party

By Daniel Greenfield, 11 Aug

Since 2016, the Democrats defined their primary political purpose not around agenda items like abortion rights, fighting racism, unlimited immigration or gay marriage, but saving democracy.

Who did democracy have to be defended from? Republicans.

Previous incarnations of the Democrats had made their case that Republicans were too extremist, too beholden to wealthy special interests or too bigoted to be trusted with power. In its latest incarnation, the case has been boiled down to the simple premise that the survival of the country requires stopping Republicans from taking office by any means necessary.

Ivy League universities are poisoned with antisemitism

by Michael Freund

Thirty-three years ago, I stood amid the ivy-covered architecture on the campus of Princeton University and proudly tossed my cap in the air along with my fellow graduating students.

The feeling of elation upon completion of our studies at the august institution, which was founded in 1746 and was the site of a famous battle in 1777 during the American Revolution, was hard to contain. We all felt a sense of accomplishment, and I was proud to call myself a Princetonian.

Coalition official: Haredi parties demand full override clause

Representative of haredi parties says Supreme Court always rules against the haredim, so Override Clause must be for more than Draft Law.

Netanyahu, Goldknopf, and DeriYonatan Sindel/Flash90.

A senior coalition member claimed that the haredi parties have doubled down on their demand for the passage of a full override clause during recent talks between coalition parties and have no intention of compromising on the issue, Israel Hayom reported.<

The haredi parties are divided between the Ashkenazi United Torah Judaism party, led by Yitzhak Goldknopf, and the Sehardic Shas party, led by Aryeh Deri. UTJ is considered the more hardline of the two parties, while Shas is considered the more pragmatic party.

Why judicial reform is essential

By Aharon Garber and Avraham Shalet, KOHELET

Like all liberal democracies, Israel needs a strong court and independent judges who will guard the rule of law, good governance, and civil and human rights.

In the past decades, the Supreme Court has empowered itself in a manner that completely violates the balance between government branches. In a series of decisions, the Supreme Court has changed the rules of the game and arrogated for itself jurisdiction which it was not given, some of these being exceptional by international standards. Against the basic concept of rule of law according to which the Court judges according to the rules set by the legislature, the Israeli Supreme Court has designed its own rules, and unilaterally taken unauthorized power, without any public legitimacy. In parallel, the Court has adopted the position that “everything is justiciable”, transforming itself into the sole adjudicator in almost all public and political controversies, large or small. The Court has interfered in issues of foreign policy, security, economic policy, and even who will receive the Israel Prize.

Israel’s Supreme Court has been acting like a bull in a china shop

Judicial overreach has undermined the live-and-let-live agreements that underpin Israeli society.

By Daniella Ashkenazy, INN Aug 11, 2023,

Most criticism of the proposed Israeli judicial reforms has focused on the Israeli Supreme Court’s overreach regarding judicial review of the decision-making of the executive and the legislature. Little has been said about the negative impact of the Court’s HaKol Shafit—everything is judicable—doctrine in other domains.

This doctrine was first applied in the 1990s by then-Chief Justice Aharon Barak. As a result of it, the Court rules annually on some 2,100 petitions regarding every aspect of life in Israel. In fact, the Court often rules on issues best governed by social dynamics—the province of psychology, sociology and political science—not the law. For example, in many aspects of religion in the public sphere.

Resist, resist, resist

By Uri Weiss

David, I am certain that had there been a referendum on the issue, the vast majority of Israelis would vote in favor of the reforms. In my mind, a military coup d’etat is taking place now in Israel, when the head of the air force says that readiness has been compromised because reserve pilots refuse to fly. Many are talking about the country falling apart and splitting physically. If it happens, let them take the air force with them, providing they spray these poisonous chemtrails only over their people.

With MBS In Power There Is Tremendous Opportunity To Make Real Peace

Saudi Columnist In Message To Israel and U.S.:

MEMRI      August 10, 2023

Saudi Arabia | Special Dispatch No. 10750

Amid the reports about contacts towards a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, the Saudi daily ‘Okaz published a column by Syrian political analyst Rami Khalifa Al-‘Ali titled “Isn’t It Time for Real Peace?”. In this column Al-‘Ali criticizes the Israeli policy which, he argues, strives to attain normalization with the Arabs without recognizing the rights of the Palestinian people. He calls on Israel to change this policy and achieve real coexistence with the Palestinians, so as to attain “the hoped-for peace of the brave.” Israel and the U.S., he adds, must realize that there is currently a tremendous and one-time opportunity to achieve genuine peace in the Middle East, thanks to the charismatic personality of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and his new approach to the development of the region.

Bombshell legal case exposes the treachery of the FDA, Fauci,

the corporate media and entire deep-state biomedical security complex
After bashing it for three years and watching millions die, FDA now admits doctors had every right to prescribe ivermectin as a legitimate treatment for Covid-19
LEO HOHMANN

Just how corrupt is the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Anthony Fauci and the entire biomedical security state apparatus that peddled fear of Covid and said the only hope of defeating the virus was to wait for a new technologically advanced “vaccine” — the same “vaccine” that proved unsafe and ineffective?

We are talking about a corruption that is beyond the capacity of many Americans to comprehend.

Who Will Say No More to the Current Madness?

We need an American Leo Amery to stand up

By

Britain slept in the 1930s as an inevitable war with Hitler loomed.

A lonely Winston Churchill had only a few courageous partners to oppose the appeasement and incompetence of his conservative colleague Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

One of the most stalwart truth-tellers was a now little remembered politico and public servant Leo Amery, a polymath and conservative member of Parliament.

They are supporting Hamas and the PIJ [Palestinian Islamic Jihad] and other factions within the Palestinian Authority.” — Brig. Gen. (res.)
