The Wall Street Journal reported that the US and Saudi Arabia agreed on broad terms for normalization which would be expected within a year.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, June 6, 2023

Israel isn’t suffering a constitutional crisis, but an identity crisis – opinion

T. Belman. At least fifty years ago I read Israelis and Jews. Israel’s Jews were asked whether they see themselves as Israelis or Jews. The division which existed then, exists today.

It is hard to imagine both gr0ups coming together on a common vision. Perhaps Israel should be divided into two areas, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Tel Aviv would include the coastal region and Jerusalem would be the rest. Tel Aviv would be a liberal democracy or what ever they decide and Jerusalem would be as Jewish as it wants. The government of Israel would levy taxes on both groups and will be responsible for defence and national infrastructure and whatever other duties both sides gave it.

Of course both sides would fight over the budget. Tel Aviv would be much richer and Jerusalem much needier.

As we stand in 2023, a clear, unified vision for Israel’s Jewish inhabitants has yet to emerge. Instead, the existing government has given rise to two sharply contrasting visions

David Ben-Gurion (credit: GPO)

We stand witness today to an escalating identity crisis in Israel, one that threatens to cascade into a full-fledged constitutional dilemma. This crisis transcends the realms of mere political turbulence or potential judicial transformations. It dives deep into the ideological heart of the nation, reflecting a divide between two considerable Jewish factions with divergent visions of what Israel should be.

Give Saudi peace a chance

Chances for a Saudi-Israeli deal are high, the risks manageable, and the value overwhelming. The doubters and naysayers, as well as those who actively are trying to sabotage such an agreement, are wrong.

By  David M. Weinberg, ISRAEL HAYOM 6.8.23

It is important to refute the many arguments being bandied about against a peace deal involving Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States.

I think that the doubters and naysayers, as well as those who actively are trying to sabotage such an agreement, are wrong. Wrong about the chances for a deal (I think they are high), wrong about the risks of a deal (much lower than feared), and wrong about the worth of a peace breakthrough (much higher than imagined).

The Times’ Eliza Shapiro — self-described “serious reporter who doesn’t pull punches” — is seen in the massive volume of communications, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, discussing with the New York State Education Department how “we” can craft comment for the first story launching the Times’ series of articles targeting yeshivas, and giving the government almost a full business-week longer than the schools to comment. Emails also show she worked with the government to direct blame for the Times’ allegations, and coordinated timing on publishing with a vote to regulate the religious schools.

Trump Indictment Is a Mockery of Common Sense

Attempting to criminalize Trump’s dispute of the election could stunt healthy political dissent

By

At the end of the classic independent film Reservoir Dogs, the characters end up in a Mexican standoff. The criminal gang’s ringleader, Joe, insists that Mr. Orange is working with the police, even though he is dying on the floor, having been shot during a failed jewelry store heist. Mr. White – the crooks use aliases – insists that Joe is wrong. Guns get drawn. Mr. White demands some proof for Joe’s claim about Mr. Orange. Joe angrily responds, “You don’t need proof when you have instinct!” You can watch the (admittedly brutal) scene here.

“Scotland cuts down 16 million trees to develop wind farms”

Peat bog carbon repositories also being dug up.

By JOHN LEAKE

In 2014, The Telegraph reported that Millions of trees chopped down to make way for Scottish wind farms. Every year since then, multiple journals have reported that the chopping down of Scotland’s treats and digging up of its (carbon holding) peat bogs has continued unabated. This year’s reporting estimate that the number is now up to 15.7 million trees have been felled to make way for gigantic, ugly, bird-killing, and inefficient wind turbines.

Mike Pence admits that he could have stayed the Senate count

By Andrea Widburg, AM THINKER

Beginning in the summer of 2020, when myriad states, legally and illegally, changed their voting rules in a way that removed all safeguards against fraud, it was clear that there might be problems in November.  Then, on election night, six major precincts — election outcome–changing precincts — stopped counting votes altogether.  When you add in all the other evidence adduced in subsequent weeks showing fraud (including Biden’s unbelievably soaring vote count long after the election ended), there was good reason to question the election.  Mike Pence has now conceded that he believes he could at least have opened the path to question election fraud.

Did Israel sacrifice security for visa waivers?

U.S. pressure led Jerusalem to give up singling out Arabs with U.S. citizenship for special scrutiny. Does the debate about “ethnic profiling” ignore threats?

By JONATHAN S. TOBIN  (August 7, 2023 / JNS)

It sounds eminently fair. Add in the fact that it will give Israeli citizens something they’ve been trying to get for many years, and it seems like a win-win sort of deal between Washington and Jerusalem. But there’s no use pretending that Israel’s agreement to treat all U.S. passport holders in the same manner, rather than singling out those who are also Palestinian Arabs for special scrutiny, doesn’t also present genuine risks for the country’s security.

Barack Obama married his “mother”

By Ted Belman (2008)

Spengler points out that Obama’s women reveal his secret

“Cherchez la femme,” advised Alexander Dumas in: “When you want to uncover an unspecified secret, look for the woman.” In the case of Barack Obama, we have two: his late mother, the went-native anthropologist Ann Dunham, and his rancorous wife Michelle. Obama’s women reveal his secret: he hates America.

Apparently Michelle Obama has been known to put down Obama or “bitch-slap” him as Spengler suggests but she has high praise for his now deceased mother whom, she says, was possessed of “naivete”.

Vitriolic anti-Israel hate speech in the EU is tolerated and ignored.

After four years, Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff’s term as head of the European Union Delegation to the West Bank and Gaza is ending. His tenure was marked by the EU’s often apologetic approach to NGO incitement and extremism, and its embrace of Palestinian organizations that support violence or promote hate speech.

The Remaking of America

Every aspect of American life and culture is under assault

By  Aug 7, 2023

We are in the midst of one of the most radical revolutions in American history. It is as far-reaching and dangerous as the turbulent years of the 1850s and 1860s or the 1930s. Every aspect of American life and culture is under assault, including the very processes by which we govern ourselves, and the manner in which we live.
